It's 48 B&W non-glossy pages of gamer humor--basically, a John Kovalic comic book in hardbound. It's funny, but it's not worth more than $10. Most of the humor comes in the tables specifying random dungeon sounds, random flavors, colors, etc.
Note the item description: 48 pages.

An amusing read for the experienced player or DM, with some sage advice and odd items to toss into a campaign. Some, if not all, of these items appear in the card game Munchkin, in the first 3 sets (Munchkin, Munchkin Unnatural Axe, Munchkin 3: Clerical Errors).
Warning: to be used, must be accompanied by the associated Munchkin d20 Players Handbk (D20 Generic System) and Munchkin d20 Monster Manual (D20 Generic System), which are difficult to find, with information that may well be gleaned from the card game, as well. I dunno - I haven't found them, but I'm not so much looking, either.
Solid, well-written, brief, and apparently fairly profitable. Caveat emptor, and like that.

I ordered a copy of this book, it said it had map in the back, no map, I wrote and they sent another book, the other one does not have a map either, so if I am paying for a map, I want a map or a reduction of the price of the book, also I cannot find out how to return the 1st or 2nd book.

I ordered this book, based on the many references made to it in other publications. In terms of narrative content, it certainly lived up to my expectations, having more specific information on early Creek towns than anything else I had read. What is missing in this soft cover edition is a detailed map or maps, and that is terribly unfortunate in my case, since I needed it for reference. The listing on Amazon states that a map is included, which is not true and misleading for the buyer.

If he stuck to the facts it would be 1 or 2 pages long. He could have put all he knew about Mormon's on the cover.

Well, I ordered this solutions book so I could do my homework and then check it to make sure I had the right answers. Well, I flipped the book open after it arrived to find that it only has answers to the odds, which are already in the back of the textbook! The only difference is that the solutions guide sometimes gives you an explanation of how they got the answer, which can be helpful at times. But what I really wanted was the answers to both the even and the odd problems. It's really not that great of a tool, but if you're interested, it won't cost you that much.

Let me put it bluntly: my instructor uses this book as little as possible due to the incredibly overdone style in which the text and problems are written. Calculus is difficult enough as it is, but this book makes it virtually impossible to comprehend. User un-friendly. Petition your math department to choose another text.
If this is "Informal", I'd hate to see what "Formal" is.

Instead of actually showing any handy numerical processes used to figure out problems, this book tries to tell you via overly-wordy and remarkably garbled explanations in the middle of "real world" situations gathered from statistics. The authors' idea of "Informal" apparently means burying explanations under useless jargon. If you want to pass a Calculus class and don't already have a talent for mathematics, this is not the book to use. Use something that's straight to the point and ditch the "Informal Approach".

I hated the book. The authors should have at least completed the entir project according to the class diagram and use cases.
They should atleast have the complete project for download.

Worst math book ever written, how did this thing get published?

This is by far the worst math book I have ever had the displeasure to read. I teach many different math classes and over the years I have read a lot of different calculus books. But nothing like this one. First, I think that the authors decided to go with the worst approach possible to all of the concepts. For instance, instead of talking about anti-derivatives the call them accumulation functions. This will only confuse the student and make a concept that is basically simple way more difficult than it actually is. For another example, the book does not teach the quotient rule for taking derivatives, and then give you really nasty things to take the derivative of, set equal to zero, and solve for x. The book craps out of this by saying things like: By the use of technology, we solve this equation. What if your teacher won't let you use a calculator? You just got screwed.
To make things worse, there are mistakes everywhere in Chapter 5. This is the fourth edition, how did this happen? Is the publisher blind?
If you have a choice spend your money elsewhere, if your teacher is using this book, I feel sorry for you, stick your head between your knees, and say good bye to your grade.

John Reed always has something interesting to share, but its too bad it gets lost in an overload of anecdotes (do we all really care to hear about his days of youth coaching for the 5th time???), and poor organization. If the man would hire an editor, I think his books would improve. Reed is to be commended for tackling a subject that is not talked about, but he does it so poorly that the book is not worth buying.

After slogging my way through 1/3 of this story, I realized I didn't give a bean about any of the characters. Before abandoning it, I skimmed the rest to see if I was going to miss anything. I don't believe I did.
It's hard to believe that the person who wrote "A Separate Peace" wrote this dreadful thing.
