I found the breif account of Hank's life to be one of the most accurate in modern times of overhype sensationalism. It shows and tells about the real down on earth Hank who was all too familar with pain and sorrow as well as love and joy. Like many other Greats, Hanks' life was not a very easy one. It shows Hank as just a regular guy who enjoyed doing his Thing... MUSIC!!!

What every scuba diver should know about the bends

This book was written after having the opportunity to travel all over the world, and see how dive injuries were treated in non U.S. medical facilities. Also, after working in a hyperbaric facility in the Caribbean, and treating numerous dive injuries, it became clear that the diving public had a marginal indoctrination at best, into hyperbaric injuries, how and why they happen, and how to manage them. In most hyperbaric facilities outside the U.S., the facilities are generally staffed by volunteers with a level of training comperable to a paramedic or Physician Assistant. Very few of these indivudals have had formal Hyperbaric training, and were primarily trained "on the
job". At some sites, they may even look to the divemaster to assist with medical treatment. If you are a divemaster, and working in the capacity where you may need to make a medical decision about one of your divers, this book can give you significant background information that may make that decision making dilemma a little easier. While this book is not meant to replace medical training, it can certainly make it easier to understand what can go wrong, and why we do what we do, when it does go wrong.

Finally....a dive medical book for the average diver!!!

This book is concise and has information useful to the average scuba diver. It discusses decompression sickness and its treatment in terms that everyone can understand. The various chapters cover aspects of dive physiology that are pertinent for divers on every dive.
I highly recommend this book for both medical and non-medical divers. It is also a must for every dive master responsible for maintaining dive safety for all levels of divers.

This is a life changing book. The book in not complicated to understand. For anyone not understanding the meaning of faith at work in their lives, and how to make it work for them, this is the best place to start. Bishop Merritt, reminds you of all the good stuff you already knew, but makes it easy to put them into work. I have purchased 3 copies of this book and I am about to purchase my 4th copy. When ever I let someone borrow the book it is hard to get it back. The fourth will not be a loaner.

This book was a tremendous help to me in designing an incentive based pay system for my company. It is extremely clear and concise. I would highly recommend it, especially for the price. I spent far more on another book that promised to do more and failed. Very good buy!

This is another of the Texas Cattleman's Club series and is Jason's story. He is assigned to watch spitfire Meredith who goes full force after the Club's suspected villan. Fearing she will hurt their investigation, they try to keep her under house arrest only to find out she is not simpering miss and can't be kept down. I like Meredith because she is a real match for Jason. When the tables turn, and she is targeted for violence, Jason's Protective nature goes into overdrive. Good story.

The exclusive members of the Cattleman's Club in Royal, Texas suspect they have a rat name Dorian in their midst, one who they believe may have committed murder and framed his half brother for the crime. To complicate matters, the dirty, rotten, scoundrel, who they have let into their club, complains he is being harassed. Then the harasser, a petit bundle of femine fury, storms into the club in a very unlady like manner, full of invective.

The members persuade Jason Windover, one of their own who has not recently falling victim to marriage, to keep this meddling woman out of their affairs. They figure he is the best among them for this task, because one, he is ex-CIA and more than competent and two, he has sworn that he'll never marry. He wants nothing more than a brief fling here and there.

Then he catches beautiful Meredith Silver slashing Dorian's tires. Rather than arrest her and involve the club's business with scandal, he takes her home and finds out that she'd been harassing Dorian because he'd promised to marry her younger sister, then he broke her heart and fled town with her life's savings. This intrigues Jason even as he's intrigued with Meredith, however the killer isn't amused by their getting together and he blows up Jason's home, our hero and heroine barely escape with their lives.

Now Jason is starting to get upset, he's starting to feel very protective of Meredith as well in this romance that is a sure fire bet to keep you burning the midnight oil. Five stars from me for this one.

These poems reward the first reading with immediate joy, and reward each subsequent reading with continuing provocation and power. I love this book. I'm giving it to all my friends. Any woman (or any man, for that matter) who has wrestled with the troubling intersections of individual spirit and received authority will find in these poems a wealth of comfort and wisdom, as well as shocking realization!

The work of a truly gifted poet.

A Protocol For Touch was awarded the Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry and secured Constance Merritt as a truly gifted poet with a recognition richly deserved. Exile: The air is dry in the much-promised land,/And mountains whisper "this is not your home":/Still nights entice me like a knowing hand,/And strangers' hands have sometimes brushed my own./Yet milk, so sweet, turns rancid in my mouth,/And I can name no answer to desire/Since God is everywhere and I'm without./I taste the stone's sleek kiss, lie with each hour/And the dream of taking up my staff and rod,/Or no longer lingering weary at the door/My hands heavy with holy tears for God/Or some woman who always fails to come./But it's hard to leave the vigil once begun,/And waiting soon becomes much more than for.

What is so wonderful about this book is that it contains explicit directions for reading activities that support the learning theories presented. It's not some esoteric treatise on reading problems, nor is it difficult to implement the activities described in this book. It also is progressive, so that more basic reading problems as well as higher-level problems are addressed equally. Furthermore, Crawley has also included some great hints on how learning can be supported in the home. On the whole, it is one of the most practical resources a reading teacher can have in his or her library.

Crawley and Merritt have produced a book that can be used by both classroom teachers and parents who wish to improve the reading skills of poor readers. The book covers topics from helping children attack words using simple phonic skills to adjusting reading rates for older readers. Each topic includes a description of the reading skill and then a myriad of activities, games and techniques that can be used to improve reading in that skill area. Illustrations make the activities easy to read and create for children. A must for anyone working with readers who need help.

This wonderfully visual book made me realize while I was reading it to my kids, how we all are children deep inside, still, but have forgotten how to dream and imagine.

Annie the dragon is a wonderful example to kids of all ages of how love can drive motivation and persistence to accomplish anything.

The environmental awareness taught in this story from the origins of the species to their endangerment in society helped my kids to realize how fragile the planet is and what there future role will be in protecting it.

A must read. You will hear your heart talk to you - maybe for the first time in a long time.

This children's book has fascinating imagination and vivid drama
that captures the heart of the little people in addition to having the uniqueness of a factual background. I was present at the author's introductory presentation to the children of two
elementary schools. The book was enthusiastically recieved with
many children making comments and asking questions.

Cold War Asia is the setting for this excellent novel of young people in harm's way. One character, Navy Lieutenent Richard Cerzan, nearly dies in combat in the opening scene. He goes through the mesmerizing near death experience and comes out with another chance at life. And what a life he makes with this chance. This novel has a little of everthing: intrigue, action, suspense, sex, violence, great cop humor in the tradition of Wambaugh, and a beautiful love story. The early chapters will keep you riveted to your seat. You'll be rolling on the floor laughing at the antics of the military police. And you'll probably cry for joy at the beautiful ending. Don't miss it!

I think this is one of the best written books I have ever read about the Cold War in Asia. The auther writes this story in such a manor that only a person who was there and whitnessed the events that took place along with his comrads could understand what the word loyality and frendship to one another ment.

He tells how two Lieutenants, one Navy & one Marine along with others carried out one deadly mission after another to help keep our country safe. and what it is like to loose those that have become as one.

I highly reccommend this book

Required reading for this student of Georgia State University's Executive MBA program ... and I would recommend it to anyone who is or knows an entrepreneur. Ken Menendez does a great job covering a great breadth of factual material and commentary in a conversational, slightly cynical tone. Though written for the businessperson with little exposure to the legal profession, the author manages to keep the experienced reader's interest by offering clever quips and insightful points of advice. It's on my gift list for every small businessperson I know.
