A truly lyrical and inspiring book full of powerful visual imagery and fully developed characters. May we have a second work?

Betty's beautiful voice resounds throughout her story. Her sensitivity to detail, her sincerity of purpose vitalize the tale--reflecting her passion for her subject. Melodic and lilting as the Irish harp, her words etch a lyric of love and compassion for her ancestry. Congrates on a labor of love!

Very disappointing read, written almost in a childrens book style, and with no index, introduction etc.
I expected some details of the life of the poet Francis Ledwidge and I received a work of fiction for my trouble. Almost unreadable such was the immature style and why spoil a good story. I must have missed the point, Ledwidge lost his father when 4 years of age yet this book says it was his father who brought him up. Read the poem 'my mother' this tells you about his life, it was the very nature of his early life and the struggle of his mother that helps enlighten some of his poetry. If you wish to find out details of the life of the poet read Alice Curtayne's excellent boigraphy.
I am in awe of the genius of Ledwidge and a book like this is great disappointment if you wish to find out the REAL events associated with his short life.
