Among the four stories, the first story, the Imposter, shows how delicate the children's worlds are. Lionel is confused when Max is very nice to others, so he wonders this Max is real Max that he has known. After a question and answer period, they reach a conclusion. "Maybe it's a disease. The kind you only catch at other people's houses." I know they always catch this disease. I like the writer's sense of humor in this part. The languages are short and clear, and the soft watercolor pictures are warm and bright. It's a good choice for beginning readers.

This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of Paul Revere's ride to warn the colonists of the British army's attack. The story is told simply yet without leaving out important historic details.

I am buying multiple copies of this book to use with my third grade classroom this year. I always have a group (mostly boys - but the hardest to motivate to read) who love anything that has to do with war and fighting. Well, with the release of the movie this summer, I am sure this book will be a hit. I plan on using it in small group instruction. It is a Level 3 book in the Ready-To-Read Series. It will spark a lot of interest in looking up topics in the encyclopedia or on the computer.

This is a very cute story for children. Although it was a little young for me, I could still appreciate the story and fun characters.
Putney is a giant with a foundness for apples, he lives a quiet life. That is until a white knight comes by and challenges him to a duel. Because he has no wish to do so, Putney makes a deal with the knight to rescue 'The Fair Damsel'. And later he realises that the future of the world rests in his success.
On the way he meets Miles, who used to be a salesman until he was cursed by an evil witch. Later he meets a princess, who turns out to be 'The Fair Damsel's' sister. Togather the odd trio go on a quest to save the Damsel. However the journey is frought with danger at every turn. They encounter dwarfs, evil queens, dragons, and chimera's just to mention a few.

I read Arthur and the Goalie Ghost.
Thought it was an ok book because it did not give enough detail and it was not a good story. I would recommend this book for ages 6-9 because it is a fairly easy book to read. And it is in easy language to read and under stand. I recommend this book because it is about sports and it was easy to read.

This book is hilarious. We have read it about 10 times already. The whole series is good for sports minded kids and all of the stories are great, but this one takes the cake! The one thing that we wondered, however, is why Marc Brown gets top billing when it is Stephen Krensky who has written all of the books in this Good Sports series?

I decide to buy this book because I was looking for science books and books that could help my daughter learn about the human body. The book is absolutely great with the exception of one of the pages of the book. Sadly, there is one page in which the books say something about Halloween. In my case I don't celebrate Halloween and I always avoid anything that has to do with it. Unfortunately there is not way to know about the content of the book until you get it. I bought the book because I had not idea that there was something about Halloween in it and I want to alert other people so they don't make the same mistake I did.

This book is a great introduction to simple human anatomy that will be easily understood and enjoyed by preschool and primary school age children. Includes helpful, cartoon-like illustrations. It is full of information and also fun to read.

"Binky Rules" is just not one of the best. It has a plot that isn't fiting in the story. So if you want my opinion, I wouldn't read this one.

I was disappointed in this book due mainly to the fact that the siblings and friends treated each other so poorly. This is bad enough but there is never any talk of the parents intervening and teaching the children how to treat each other with kindness and respect. Children do not need to be encouraged to treat each other in mean spirited ways. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

This background is reminiscent of C.S. Lewis' Narnia. A young child enters a different world through a magic door and meets good and evil characters. The comparison ends here. There is none of Narnia's rich texture, excitement and underlying morality. The book is poorly written, the plot could have been written by a (not very talented) 11 year old and leaves one feeling cheated. The beautiful illustrations make up the only redeeming feature.
