"Arthur and the Nerves of Steal" is another great novelization of the show. In this book, Stephen Krensky successfully adapts a rather dodgy story about Buster stealing something called a "CyberToy."

Buster wants the toy so badly that he drops into Arthur's backpack when no one is looking. He then becomes paranoid and faces a moral dilemma as to what to do with it. As things grow worse, it seems there's only one choice.

Krensky once again adds in new details and dialogue, as well as great pictures. Another fine addition to the series.

This series of books is so consistently good that I automatically order each one as soon as it's available. #21 keeps up the tradition. My daughter (just turned 8) loves it, as she has the previous 20. The only difference from the beginning of the series to the present, is that now she has to read each chapter to me before I'll read it to her. She's always excited when Marc Brown releases a new book.

Francine learns that it isn't always sheer physical skill that makes a good team - strategy is important. The gang also takes some time to think about how it feels to be the last one picked for a team - you know that feeling. Never sappy but engaging, a good story in a great series. Stephen Krensky has done a good job with these books. Why is it that Marc Brown's name is on the cover?

If you've seen the television version of "Arthur Plays the Blues," then you'll love the chapter-book edition. Once again, Krensky takes a great story and adds more detail and plot-points to make for an awesome read. From this book, readers can learn important lessons about hard-work, respect and achieving your best. Those that did watch the television story will also be rewarded with a truly worthwhile surprise ending.

A very beautiful intelligent read. My children loved it as much as I did. I encouraged my son's teacher to influence her students to read this and similar stories. Not only is it educational for Native American children but also for others. It is important that every American child learn about Native Americans. Unless they live near a rez most people do not even realize Native Americans still live. In schools American children learn about the pilgrims and that small chapter in history about the bloody Indian wars. There is so much more; culture, tradition, history, and even morals. If you teach the children now, with stories such as this one, perhaps they will learn acceptance of other cultures instead of ignorance.

Children of the Earth and Sky is a collection of five stories about Indian children. (Hopi, Comanche, Mohawk, Navajo, and Mandan) Each teach a lesson full of tradition and culture. The book is also filled with beautiful pictures that flicker images from a world of the past. I recommend this book for all ages and nationalities.

Morrissey has a wonderful style. He goes back to the tin metal and a chipped paint look of WW1. It's a unique style and we often use it in our paintings. Hope he has other book up and coming in 2007. :D

Davy Crockett is the best of the ready to read biographies that I've read. It truly is good and very interesting. If only more of the books were written as good as this one is!

If you need to learn to solve problems in a good way then the book Lionel in the Summer by Stephen Krensky is for you. In chapter 1 Lionel runs into a problem because he made a long list of things to do on the first day of summer. But there's not enough time. Will Lionel learn to enjoy the first day of summer? Read the book to find out. I think I would give this book 5 stars. And I'm sure you'll enjoy Susanna's illustrations.

I think this book is very funny. In this story the little boy thinks the teachers stays at school all the time. The little boy thinks that the librarian reads to the teachers before they go to bed at night. He thinks the cafeteria ladies cook dinner for the teachers. He thinks the gym teacher makes them do exercises. He thinks the music teacher makes the teachers dance. He also thinks the art teacher makes them draw pictures. On one weekend he sees the teacher roller blading with a strange man and a little girl that looks just like his teacher. So he realizes that his teacher goes home at night. But what about the others!!

I read a marvelous book titled The Printer's Apprentice, written by Stephen Krensky. This story takes place in 1734 in New York. The four main characters are Gus Croft,William Bradstar,Peter Zenger, and the governer of New York.Gus is a young bright child who is an apprentice of William and writes for the Gazzete.William owns the Gazette and teaches Gus a whole lot about writting.Zenger is a bright young man who is the writer for the Neww York Weekly Journal. The governer fo New York is an old man that runs the city. The main problem is that the poor man Zenger is being put on trial because he wrote bad(but true)things about the governer.
In the begining, the governer of New York wanted the Gazette that William owned to be cancled unless better things were written. So William told Gus to go to visit his cousin in Philadelphia to do this.At the same time,Zenger is being placed on trial because he wrote bad but true things about the governer in the New York Weekly trial. It was a great timing because Gus finds this trial with Zenger when he's in Philladelphia. He watches the trial and hears the defendent of Zenger explaining what is libel and what is the truth to the judge and jurores. He tells that what Zenger wrote was true, but if it wasn't true he should be guilty.Eleven years later Zenger dies.
This book tells what happened durring the colonial days.Writers would write things about a person in a high oosision and the person doesn't like it.You may not know that people were put on trial because of this. The high leveled person would say that the writer was writing libel things about him.If the judge lets the writer have the freedom of speech then the writer is innocent and should not be guilty and sent to prison.
