John Gray Books

These group of essays methodically and from a variety of view points attempt to show just how damaging the infamous photos and the acts of depravity they have exposed are. The book also explores the collective conscience and political climate that has existed in order for such unbelievable and inhuman behavior to occur. Highly recommended.

This book is very comprehensive for undergraduate level in Electrical Engineering. I am glad that I found this book in my school engineering library. I would suggest if any student is interested in mixed signal, this book is a good one to give you fundamental knowledge.

This book is a collection of over 40 columns that began appearing in the NMASM Newsletter in 1988. They are stories about different surveys the author has been involved in as well as stories of historical figures who were surveyors. Most of these stories take place in New Mexico and the Southwest

This is a 36 page fan magazine dedicated to the life and works of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Contents of Issue 32 include: 1. "A Crowing Achievement: "Tarzan and the Golden Lion" by David A. Adams 2. This is an excellent book. It details not only Mr. Gray's life, it also speaks about the struggle of an entire nation of people. I recommend this book to any and everyone who would like to have more information about the struggle of black people for their basic rights,ie to seat any where they please on a public bus, to vote, to an adequate education in your own state. I enjoyed the book immensely. I will continue to use it as a reference.

This is an eight-volume history of Africa that I can't recommend highly enough. Patiently working my way through it over the course of several months did more to reduce my ignorance of human history than anything else I have ever done. I found several discussions particularly helpful:

- the physical evidence for human origins in Africa south of the Sahara

- The colonization of Madagascar by voyagers from Malaysia, which introduced the banana and several other valuable food crops into Africa in classical times

- How the conquest of valley-dwelling, agricultural Hutu by hilltop-dwelling, cattle-herding Tutsi serendipitously benefited both cultures, since manure from Tutsi cattle enabled greater Hutu cultivation of the banana

- How the Iron Age came to Africa south of the Sahara (this was what led me to this work in the first place)

- The breadth and depth of Arab learning and philosophy at the height of the Muslim empires during Europe's Middle Ages

I did find the discussions of late-Christian Egypt and Arab civilization more difficult to follow than the rest, because these discussions make heavy use of italicized Egyptian and Arabic words without bothering to explain them to the non-expert reader. This forced me to keep going back and re-reading earlier passages as I figured out these terms' likely meanings from their context in later passages.

Overall, however, this is a work I would love to have on my own bookshelf, if it weren't so very costly to purchase. The copy I read belongs to the King County Library system. (Seattle and Redmond, Washington, are the best-known cities in King County.)

This reprint of an original 1878 edition written by John Henry Gray and originally published by Macmillan provides a readable history of China dating from the late 19th century when author Gray served as the Archdeacon of Hong Kong. Gray charted the legends of China and provided insights into its government, society, belief systems and class system: add a first-person observational tone and you have a winner.

As a basic fisher.......person? (What's PC these days, anyway?) Anyhoo - as a beginning angler, I found this book to be great - it really describes most of northern Ohio, and will keep me busy for some time. Barbo tells you where the fish are and how to get there - with enough information to keep you from getting lost if you've never been there before. Barbo also has a enjoyable writing style - easy to read, and humorous, and he sounds like a great person to go fishing with (So - John, if you read this - drop me an e-mail, and maybe we can hook up together....sorry - no pun intended :)

If you fish in the Cleveland area, buy this book!

I was very pleased with this publication. It's one of the most comprehensive books on an artist I have ever seen.

This is a great book, I reccomend it to anyone who likes true stories of death, accidents, and murder. I like this book because it contains all true stories and they are all in my hometown Cleveland Ohio. Full of great facts and pictures as well as great stories.
