E. M. Forster Books

PASSAGE TO INDIA has a good lesson about an important time period in India's history. However, this point could have been expressed in a much shorter format. It does give the reader a less than romantic feeling about India, but at the same time a more realistic feel for the country. This book would be excellent for a class about British Colonialism or even perhaps as a lesson in Indian train of thought. However, it cannot not be excepted as a defenitive novel about Indians because there are over 900 million Indians that no single book can define and also because it was written by a non-Indian. I just wish Forster had said what he wanted to say and ended the book!!!

This book is the SPARK NOTES version of A Passage to India, not the actual novel by E. M. Forster.

For my nineth grade english class howards end was selected. This book, though interesting in its text, was very long and slow. I hope that my teacher will not pick another book like it. Also if a teacher is reading this I might reccomend going a little bit slower.

howard's end is my favorite novel of all time. this particular kindle version has junk characters salted throughout starting with a 6-character+ string of fractions on first page. i think there are other kindle versions of howard's end though.

This review refers only to the formatting of the LeClue22 edition for Kindle (B0013QUKIW). It appears to have been prepared from a text file containing a hard return at the end of every line. When the publisher fails to remove the excess hard returns, the text doesn't wrap properly: every other line on the Kindle screen is a half line. Although LeClue22's price is currently the lowest for this work (which is in the public domain in the US), I wish I'd known about the formatting shortcomings. For a better edition, try EbooksLib (B000FC2OWK), at least until LeClue22 gets its act together.

The first book I read by E.M.Forster. Long descriptons, not much going on, it simply bored me to the point that I never finished it.

I would really have liked to give this book a good review---but I have yet to recieve it in the mail. Ordered on 4/30/08 and still nothing as of 6/18/08.Some folks you order from should not be in business.

Do not buy this version. It is not formatted correctly for the Kindle. It has fixed line lengths which wrap awkwardly on the Kindle, making it very difficult to read.
