Nan Cohen Books

Twenty-four rhymes from Mother Goose selected by Robin Cohen and cheerfully illustrated by Nan Brooks: it opens with an eye-catching and fanciful illustration of the lady riding a large bonnet-wearing gander over a peaceful scene. Pictures with lots of color, many animals, quaint costumes and happy children are bustling with activity. Then the last page concludes peacefully with "Bedtime" and the well-known "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

I must have missed something, considering the amount of praise heaped on the author on the dust jacket, I thought I was about to read War and Peace. There was nothing new here, and the story line moved around like a heart monitor display - no consistent track - grabs something here, something there. This really is a very disappointing book.
