I selected this mini book along with some others that I thought were interesting. I am a bridal designer and as a personal touch I like to give my brides little gifts along with their purchases. This little book is excellent! I now give a copy to all of my brides. It contains amusing anectdotes, lovely poems and little tidbits on making your wedding day very special. Makes a great keepsake.

This is 300 pages of distilled wisdom. God gives gifts to preachers and the life and thoughts of MLJ are a evidences of such charisma.

The viewpoint is calvinistic. And therefore most accurately truthful. Preachers would benefit most from this as well as lay ministers who would want to sit at the feet of one of the most gifted men in the evangelical world during his time.

What a book! I wasn't sure if I'd read it cover to cover, but I absolutely devoured it. There is so much wisdom here...you will be challenged, encouraged, and convicted...sometimes all in the same quote. MLJ does not pull any punches. He's a Reformed Preacher of the highest caliber. I don't necessarily agree with everything that's said here, but you can be sure that he brings you back to the blood of Christ every time. He's a genius, and master wordsmith. My copy is covered in notes and underlines...I highly recommend this work if you follow the teaching of Spurgeon, Luther, Piper, Driscoll, et al. By the way, this does not have 160 pages...there are 320.

I read this and found it to be warfm and witty. Reminds me of greats like the "dont sweat the small stuff" series and also "what I learned in kindergarten". JT O'Hara has a way of communicationg unlike most others - with deep contemplations surrounded in humor. I loved it
