I have seen this book, and it is an excellent source of meaningful quotes. I wanted to buy it as a Christmas present for a friend who makes beautiful scrapbooks of her family but see that it is unavailable. I hope this changes. When I tried to find it under "scrapbook" and "scrapbooking" it didn't show up so I hope I successfully added these links so people can find it. I also want to buy one for myself because I am a teacher and we can use quotes like these since they come from a variety of sources.

Okay, I am the author (compiler, really) so I'm biased, but I love this book and use it frequently. I was looking for a categorized book of Bible verses to use while scrapbooking. There wasn't one out there, so I did it myself. Then the book expanded to include quotes from hymns, songs, movies, other scriptures, and great thinkers.
You can use this book for more than just weddings or births. If you're doing a layout about a special person, you can think of their best qualities and look them up here to find just the right quote.
Don't forget to get a copy for your pastor! What a great resource for sermons!
I hope you enjoy reading and using this book as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

What a wonderful book specific to art and artists. Thumbing through and reading what great artists have said about art and seeing their masterpieces among the quotes helped me understand how art communicates to all people and how it really is a different wavelenght of thought. A lovely book to own as well as to give.

. . . if you tell them Benjamin Franklin said it first. While great quotations are fun for everyone, they are particularly useful to the author or professional speaker seeking confirmation of his or her premise.
This book is entertaining, uplifting and a valuable resource. The book categorizes the quotations by author and, unlike most books of quotations, it provides background information on the person such as the dates of birth and death as well as his or her occupation. The Index references the quotations by subject.
As a publisher, author of 26 Books, over 90 revised editions, six translations, 51 reports and over 500 magazine articles, I spend a lot of time looking for appropriate quotations. I need the best tools. This book is a great tool. DanPoynter@ParaPublishing.com.

wow, after i ordered this book, i started to have second thoughts, but i decided to risk it; if i didn't enjoy it, i knew some of the new additions to my history class could use it. but when i recieved it, i was impressed--paul choi and his team must have worked pretty hard to look for some of these quotations (the only problem with this book is its use of the word "quote" instead of "quotation"). but overall, i think this book is great and i'm planning to order more from the series.

I believe I was one of the first people to buy this book online here as I had been anticipating it for months. Leah Garchik, for those who dont' know, is a popular social scene columnist (aka gossip columnist) for the San Francisco Chronicle. Her writing in the paper is witty and insightful. But here she's collected dozens of snippets that her readers have sent her, outrageous and funny things they have overhead. If you need a good laugh I recommend this. Also makes a great gift .

like all great humorous writers, from Flannery O'Conner to Peg Bracken, Leah Garchik has a perked-up ear for the unintentially hilarious and weirdly profound. These overheard snatches of everyday insight compose a socialogically revealing book, more profound than it's pink cover would suggest. A great gift for just about anybody

Dedicated to Portia's own parents, a most romantic couple, this "little" cookbook is filled with wonderful recipes suitable for romantic dinners and each comes with a quirkily romantic verse by well-known poets and some funny ones from such as Ogden Nash. As with all of Portia Little's cookbooks it is easy to use, recieps have been tested over and over to make sure they work and you will find some classic favorites that have been simplified. The Blender Popovers on page 61 will not disappoint and neither will the Pumpkin Soup on page 73. In fact, I made both for the same meal and we found it a most satisfying treat.

Food columnist, editor and feature writer for newspapers and magazines, Portia Little is an expert at food and fun.
Pursuing her passion for great food, Little decided to make a career of food writing. Her fervor brought her to deciding to pen her own cookbooks. Not wanting to be another Rachael Ray, Little decided to create her own niche by writing souvenir cookbooks. They are small spiral-bound cookbooks that are filled with delicious recipes, as well as other interests of the author. Deciding to self-publish, she claimed complete control over her cookbooks, and what a delight they are.
Some of my favorite recipes from this book are: Fresh Apple Cake, Chicken Salad with Grapes, Four-Layer Blueberry Dessert and Oven Roast Potatoes.
Each recipe is preceded by a quote from a poem. Shakespeare, Robert Burns, Percy Bysshe Shelley and more penned some of the quotes you will see.
Her recipes are easy-to-follow and delicious. They do not require unusual ingredients or equipment. Just great food that bring her family favorites to your plate.

This important reference book evaluates the dependability of quotations attributed to Lincoln. They are listed alphabetically by name of the person who claimed to hear Lincoln. A copious index to this nearly 600-page book gives further assistance in locating alleged quotations. The book was compiled by two Lincoln experts and is authoritative as any Lincoln book can be.

I can not imagine how many hours of checking and rechecking it took for the Fehrenbachers to compile this book. They offer not only the words of Lincoln as recalled by others, but also their opinions on the probable accuracy of the person who recalled the words. I found quotes I had never heard and I noted that some quite famous "quotes" were debunked. This is as close to the "real words" of Lincoln we are able to get outside his writings and newspaper reports of his speeches. Of course, written words, carefully crafted speeches and spontaneous spoken words are all different. Thanks to the editors for massive amounts of careful work.

Incredibly fascinating! It's the first and most compehensive compilation of life-changing movie lines that I've ever seen. These are the lines from movies we don't remember, but never forgot! It's a painstakingly prepared and entertainingly presented masterpiece of work. It's the kind you either can't put down or you keep picking it up. My friends love it too!
