To a fair series. I never quite got into it as much as Meg's other books book I still enjoyed it. This is the only one I've read seeing as my library at school and my public one don't have the second edition and I'd prefer not to buy it so... But I did like it, I just thought it lacked spunk.
For an easy book with boy drama and best friend fights, this here is for you!

If you can get the audiobook version, do! It's read by Anne Hathaway, who played Mia in the movie, and is perfect in the role. One of the best-read books I've ever heard. The book was well-written, and was enjoyable for adults too. The pop references weren't strained, and didn't sound like an adult trying to "relate". What fun. I can't wait to listen to the whole set.

Even though I kind of liked this book when I first read it, looking back... It's ridiculous.

Mia Thermopolis is an average, geeky, 14 year old girl who discovers that her Grandmother is the Queen of a small country, Genovia, and she (Mia) is an heiress to the throne.

Sure, the plot sounds great, but it wasn't written well at all. Mia is TOO obsessed with her body and complains often about her breast size. There's also the fact that she has very little respect for adults, mostly her Grandmother.

I will also warn you on the content of this book. It's shocking that this book was created for young girls, if you were to go by all of the extra thrown-in innuendos. There's talk about her Mother sleeping with her math teacher, a foot fetishist stalking her best friend, plus many sex-based conversations. There was a ripe level of swearing, too.

This book is a complete waste of time... however, I recommend it if you want to reduce your IQ level.

The Princess Diaries is a great book by Meg Cabot. Cabot wrote this book in a diary style from the main character's perspective so it made the book a nicer way to read because of the feelings she expresses. It's an amazing realistic fiction about Mia an ordinary, awkward freshman in high school, who is, of course, the sole heiress to the throne of Genovia, a small European principality. After finding this out she tries to hide it from the rest of the city including her best friend, but unfortunately someone leaked the story to the press. Mia goes through a lot of good and bad things such as, the worst first kiss you could ever imagine, realizing she has a crush on her best friend's brother, and getting to buy all these amazing designer clothes. While seeing what will happen next to Mia, this book was definitely a page turner. If you like to read about young teenage girls and their troubles then this is the book for you.

Light but enjoyable reading from the author of The Princess Diaries. Samantha is a typical, if slightly rebellious teen trying to find the place in her household as a middle child. Her older sister is a cheerleader and dating a guy Samantha secretly believes is her own soul mate. Her younger sister is a genius who attends a special school for super-intelligent kids. Sam tries her hand at rebellion by dying all her clothes black, but her biggest problem is making good grades in German class until she foils an assassination attempt on the life of the president while she waits for the family's housekeeper to pick her up from art class. That's when her life changes in ways she couldn't really imagine.

All American Girl is a different twist on the theme of The Princess Diaries: What happens to an ordinary girl when something extraordinary changes her life. But it's a fun book to read while fantasizing about the big event that could change everything in your life.

OKay, so I'm not going to put the summary of this book here since there are plenty of those given by the readers and editors. So, onto the review! The book was written perfectly, though with all good plot lines there always has to be something corny about it that will annoy me no end. This would have to be the constant Gwen Stefani references, which by the end would soon get annoying. Besides that, the book was well-written and had a great plot line, especially the twisted romance that was included. The only thing disappointing was the ending as it was the classic "everything was great. the end" thing. I think people should read this book if they are a fan of teen romance novels.

Hi all you girls out there. If you enjoyed the Princess Diaries then you'll love this book. This realistic fiction book called All American Girl was written by the same author, Meg Cabot. During this book you will learn what can happen to an average teenage girl named Samantha Madison, such as how being the younger child you get no attention from anyone unless something amazing happens. Also, being a picky eater is very hard to hide at parties. I enjoyed this book because of the romance and comedy in it, especially when Sam finds something very surprising out. The author did a very good gob at describing Samantha's feelings. This book is full of drama, romance, and comedy. Read this book if you want to find the Samantha in you.

All American Girl was a great book! I really liked it.

All American girl is about Samantha Madison, a 15 year old girl. She has a popular big sister, Lucy and a little sister who's a genius, Rebecca. Plus she got caught selling celberity portraits in school so know she's being forced to take art classes. To top it all of she's in love with her big sister's boyfriend Jack.

It all starts off when Samantha Madison decided to skip her art class for a day to skim other stores. She goes into a music store and sees a guy who's listening to the song "Uptown Girl" constantly.

When she leaves the sore she sees that "Uptown Guy" was leaving the sore to. She sees that he's fiddling with something beneath his coat. She doesn't think much about it for awhile. Then the president walks out of his limo with some secret service guys into "Capitol cookies." Suddenly Samantha notices that Uptown guy has a gun. "He's got a gun! He's got a gun!" She shouted and pointed to Uptown guy. She suddenly tackles Uptown Guy and grabs the gun. When she took the gun she broke her arm.

Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, known as Mia for short, has recently been informed that she is the heir to the throne of Genovia. On top of that she has to attend princess lessons, prepare for her trip to Genovia and figure out a way to dump her boyfriend. When Mia starts getting yellow roses and her boyfriend won't ask her to the dance, she suspects something is up.

Princess In Love is an outstanding book. My favorite part is when she had to write the English essay about her Thanksgiving. Meg Cabot is an excellent author and Princess in Love is a great book for girls twelve and older.

Mia Thermopolous is not your typical teenager. She has a strict Grandma, a boyfriend that she really does not love anymore; she likes her best friend Lilly's brother, And she is princess of Genovia a small country in Europe, but she lives in the united states. Mia's life has no plans she pretty much does what her heart and her brain tells her.

Poor Kenny, Mia's first boyfriend tries to win over her love but all she does is push him to the side. Kenny starts to feel like he is not good enough for Mia, so he starts asking her to go on dates with him more often. Lilly had this great idea one day that they should go on a double date but Lilly and her brother would go instead of a couple, that day Kenny started to know that Mia really did not love him like she used to , instead she likes Michael. Will she ever get what she wants?

This is not Mia's favorite year, she finds out that her designer sells her pictures he took of her in her dresses that were made by him. Everyone is disappointed to her that their own princess is a model. Mia does not like the fact people think she is a model. Mia then fires her designer, and now has no dress to wear for the upcoming Genovian Christmas ball. Grandmere is very upset with Mia and Mia decides not to talk to her for a while. Will she find a dress in time? Will ever she talk to Grandmere again?

Find out the answers to all of these questions by reading the Princess Diaries Series book number three.

"That's it, my life is over...I have a boyfriend and I don't even like him!" And so begins the third book in the Princess Diaries series. Mia has finally gotten herself a boyfriend. Kenny, the boy who has been sending Mia anonymous love notes, finally came forward and is now Mia's boyfriend. The only problem is that she is still in love with Michael and doesn't know how to let him know. So Mia has to find a way to let Michael know how she feels, break up with Kenny without hurting his feelings, plan her trip to Genovia, and figure out why Kenny hasn't asked her to the dance. Needless to say, Mia needs some help. Fortunately, her friend Tina is there. She gives Mia the idea to send Michael love notes (without signing her name) and see how he reacts. After sending three notes, Michael lets Mia know that he knows it was her and that he feels the same way. So at the dance Mia becomes Michael's girlfriend and not Kenny's. Now Mia is off to Genovia with her grandmother. Even though she's nervous about talking to the Genovian people on TV, she couldn't be happier. She finally got the guy of her dreams. Princess in Love is a great addition to the Princess Diaries series.

One of the reasons I liked this book is because it was funny to hear Mia talk about her boyfriend problems. Kenny had been her secret admirer for awhile and Mia thought it was sweet. When he came forward and said it was him, she couldn't turn him down. In the previous books Mia has talked about how much she wanted a boyfriend, and now that she has one, she doesn't want him. Mia tries to like him but she doesn't because she's still in love with Lilly's older brother. Mia completely freaks out when Kenny calls and says he loves her. She just said "see you tomorrow" and hangs up. Then she stresses about what to do because she doesn't love him back. Finally her problems are solved when Kenny breaks up with her. Mia is still confused because Kenny thought she was in love with Lilly's boyfriend Boris. Looks like Kenny will never get it right.

As always Mia has her fights with Lilly. The book wouldn't fit with the series if it didn't. One of their fights was during their Gifted and Talented class. Mia was asking Lilly how she should respond to Kenny saying `I love you'. In front of the entire class Lilly says, in a loud voice, `how about that you love him too.' Mia was mortified because she didn't want to admit in front of the entire class that she didn't really like her boyfriend. Mia also gets frustrated with Lilly when Lilly suggests a walk out during school to oppose all the work that the teachers are giving them during exam week. Due to the fact that Mia and Lilly are best friends, Mia is expected to do it even though she doesn't want to. She knows how mad Lilly will be if she doesn't do it, so she gets really confused. So instead of dealing with Lilly, Mia pulls the fire alarm so the school gets evacuated during the walkout. Lilly starts yelling saying that someone told on them as Mia sits back and is thankful Lilly isn't yelling at her.

Mia is a very shy person. In the story she does some things that were very hard for her, but she did it anyway. One incident is when Mia finally stood up to Lana. Lana had always bugged Mia and finally she couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed Lana's cell phone off the desk, dropped it onto the floor, and stepped on it. It was smashed to pieces and Mia was suspended. However, she got many emails from people saying how proud they were of her. Another thing Mia had to do was deal with the pictures of her in different dresses that were put in the newspaper. She was picking out a dress to wear to Genovia and someone took pictures. Mia's grandmother gave them to the newspapers hopping to get good publicity. It made Mia and her dad very angry. So Mia called a news crew and gave a speech saying that all the proceeds from the pictures would go to Greenpeace. Talking in front of the press was very hard for Mia but she knew it was the right thing to do. Also, just sending those letters to Michael must have been really hard for Mia. She had been in love with him for years, and she never thought that he would like her too. So she really took a chance telling him how she felt, even if it was anonymously.

This is a very well written book. It sounds like it could have been written by a real teenager. The simple story line keeps you interested and it has the perfect Cinderella ending. I give it five stars. I would recommend this book to all teenage girls.

I read the book Princess In Love. Princess In Love is about a young beautiful princess that visits a small country called Genovia. The princess has a best friend who has a really cute brother that the princess likes a lot. She doesn't tell anyone her feelings about the boy but it turns out that he feels the same about her. They both like each other but they are to scared to tell one another.

A couple of things that I liked about this book was that I just enjoy reading love stories and I also like how the love was kinda of hidden. It would be a really good book for people that like to read books about love and friendship. I would suggest that you not read it if you don't like to read about love.
There is nothing that I did't like. My overall oppinion is that it's a great love story for people that like to read about princesses and love. But if you don't like to read about that kind of stuff. I suggest you not read it. Other than that it's a great and romantic book!

When girls are little they probably want to be a princess, marry a prince and live happily ever after. Well for fourteen year-old Mia Thermopolis this is half true.
When Mia (a freshman) was just starting high school she found out she was princess of Genovia (not a real country but in the book it is located next to France). But now Mia has known that she is a princess for several months. She has a boyfriend named Kenny who she thinks is weird and strange. Her real prince charming is Michael Moscovitz who is her best friend Lilly's brother who is a senior. She has had a major crush on Michael ever since kindergarten when she became friends with Lilly. Mia's love and passion for Michael is burning like the sun. Mia and Michael seem like they are meant to be like eggs and bacon. Will Mia ever go out with her prince charming or will she be stuck with odd Kenny?
This book is the third book in the princess diaries series, and let me just say these are the best books I have ever read. Meg Cabot the author really out does her self this time in this fiction book. I recommend it to teenage girls. Mia can relate to a lot of people. She thinks she "is a 5'9 talent less freak with gigantism". Even if you have seen the movies you should still read them because the books are way better.

This is a slice of a completely unrealistic teenager's life. However, there is enough empathy for real coming-of-age issues, such as the power of words, that young readers can benefit from examining, how the lessons relate to their own universes. The characters are well written and you care that the princess makes the right choices. I recommend this for the imaginative young reader.

I am a sixth grader. I read the book Princess in the Spotlight the second Princess Diaries. This book is by Meg Cabot. In this book, Mia, gets a big surprise. But when her mom tells her the surprise, Mia isn't too happy. But this surprise leads to another. You see, Mia's mother is still dating Mia's algebra teacher, Mr. Gianini. So now Mr.G will be moving in with Mia and her mom plus Mia's mom is marring Mr.G!! Mia is so shocked when she hears this news. She is still shocked to hear the first surprise her mother told her. So now Mia is thinking that it is not going to be fun having her algebra teacher living with her. But after a few weeks of thinking about it and finding out that Mr.G has a fooze ball table and a pin ball machine she decides that living with Mr.G won't be too bad. But when her grandmother plans a big interview with a big interviewer, Mia is very nervous. When she finally has the review, she feels as if nothing will ever go right again.
Mia's father is there, and well Mia's mom has not exactly told Mia's dad that she is getting married. So when Mia tells the entire world about her mom marring Mr.G, not only is Mia's dad in shock, but so is her grandmother. For the next few chapters, things don't go so well for Mia. Later on in the book, Mia's grandmother decides to plan her mom and Mr.G's wedding. Her grandma even hires a professional planer. Mia knows that her mom will not like the fact that her daughter's father's mother is planning her wedding. But after Mia's mother's parents, who have never in their entire life left Africa, come to help Mia's grandmother plan the wedding that Mia's mom doesn't even want, Mia and her mom thinks things have gotten out of hand. But they both know that they can do nothing. So they call Mia's father to take care of his mother. Well I don't want to give any more away but I do recommend this book for anyone who is a girl and liked the first Princess Diaries book.

I thought that this book was really nice to read because it had every thing that was in the first book. Every character is back and that everything is still the same even Mia is the same old self except the whole princess thing. What I like about Mia is that she was afraid of being a Princess but then she got rid of that fear and sayed it might be fun being a princess.

This was a great book. The story is not only interesting and captivating, but the way it is written also keeps you reading. The whole story is narrated by e-mails and messages between the different characters. Most of the e-mails are just short messages, exactly how e-mails are in real life. And this makes a very interesting reading experience! It is amazing how the author can capture the reader with a series of short massages. But don't let this misguide you; the story and the characters are very well developed. There is lots of humor and romance.
I cannot recommend this book enough...

The Boy Next Door is just another chick-lit novel, a genre I am not a fan of, but I wanted to read something light and romantic for a change. The only thing that separates this book from many, many other similar novels is that it's written entirely as emails sent between the main characters. It is an annoying gimmick, but the author does a fair job of making it work, despite the fact that most people would (hopefully) never dish about their sex life using their company email address. This book is completely predictable and pretty much a complete waste of time. Cabot should stick to writing Young Adult novels. If you want a QUALITY romantic read, I recommend either Bridget Jones Diary or Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

Suze has to move with her mom to LA with her moms new husband and 3 boys. Her dad died when she was younger and he still hasn't moved on. she meets that best looking ghost shes ever seen. And even if she won't admit it, shes totally in love with him. And he even saves her life when the ghost heather goes crazy because shes mad she killed herself and now shes taking revenge on the reason she killed herself in the first place.

This book was awesome. I enjoyed every part of it, and I was interested in the topic about mediators. The only one thing that I do have to criticize about this book is that the main character isn't catholic. I am, so in many ways, I found her beliefs conflicting with my own. It was nothing too extreme, but I wasn't fully comfortable with it.
Although, the fact that the preist was the principal made up for it. The story line is well-written. I found Suze's character perfect in the way that she was realistic and not the type where the author just makes them perfect. If you're looking for something to enjoy, pick this book up. It is finish in a day material.

Suze Simon is a 16-year-old girl who can see, touch, and talk to ghosts.
The story begins with Suze Simon moving from New York to northern California to live with her mother, stepfather, and three stepbrothers. Suze intends to live a different life from the one she lived while she was in New York-meaning she does not want the company of ghosts but she soon learns that there is no escaping her job as a mediator.

When she arrives at her new home, she discovers that there is a ghost living in her room. Desperate to start a new life that doesn't involve talking to ghosts, Suze pretends to not see ghosts while her mother is around. She learns that the ghost living in her room is a 150-year-old ghost named Jesse who happens to be very attractive.

On her first day of attending her new school, Junipero Serra Catholic Academy, Suze is surprised to see that there are no ghosts around. What with Junipero Serra being a very old school, there should be plenty of ghosts around. Suze then learns that the reason there are no ghosts around is because Father Dominic, the principal of Junipero Serra Catholic Academy, is a mediator himself. Father Dominic had managed to get rid of all the ghosts that were hanging around the academy, that is, except for one.

The ghost of a girl named Heather continues to haunt the school and she proves to be a very powerful ghost who will stop at nothing to get her revenge.

'Shadowland' is an entertaining, suspenseful, and funny thriller that 'pulls' you in right from the beginning and doesn't let go until the last sentence of the book.

I enjoyed the character of Suze and also the funny dialogue. The characters of the book were believable and easy to relate too. This is one of the best books that I've read in a long time.

Shadowland by Mag Cabot is one of the best adventure books I have read in a long time. Suze Simon can see and talk to the dead, but only long enough to help resolve their unfinished business. Her mother has just remarried and has forced Suze to move from New York to California. All Suze wants is a chance to start over, away from her freak reputation caused by her ghostly dealings. That is hard to do, however, when she comes across two ghosts within a week; Jesse, the hot, hundred-fifty-year-old haunting her bedroom, and Heather, the teen ghost who is out for revenge, and Suze just happens to be in her way.

Shadowland is a fantastic book full of witty dialogue, action, adventure, suspense, and a hint of romance. The story has enough twists and turns to keep readers guessing until the end. The suspense will keep them reading into the night anticipating what might happen next. Overall, this was a terrific book that will lead readers straight into the second.

In 'Haunted', Paul Slater from book #4 makes a reappearance and Suze is even more certain of the fact that her first impression of him was wrong. Paul is a mediator and seems to know more about the gift than Suze does. At first, Suze is disgusted by Paul and wants nothing to do with him but as time goes on, she finds herself wanting to know more about their shared gift.

At the same time, Suze's feelings for Jesse grow stronger. She remembers the prophesy of her having only one love, made by the psychic she saw while she was still living in New York. Jesse seems to be who she truly loves. Throughout the book Suze is torn because she loves Jesse but he doesn't seem to feel the same way and she knows that they couldn't possibly have any kind of future together. Paul however, does seem to have feelings for her and he's alive. Paul claims to be able to send Jesse on to his next life for good but agrees not to, as long as Suze will go out with him.

As the book goes on, Suze sees that she cannot trust Paul. Paul tries to get Suze to realize that she will not have a future with Jesse and will stop at nothing to send Jesse away forever.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an exciting, fast paced book and I could not put it down. The book ends with a cliffhanger that makes me wish the book had gone on a little longer.

There were a couple of things I didn't like about the book. For one, I really wanted to know more about Jesse's history. What are the details of his death? Also, Paul didn't reveal a whole lot about his and Suze's shared gift. I'm guessing that this will be covered in the next book.
Overall, I really liked 'Haunted'. This book ties with the 4th book 'Darkest Hour' for my favorite book out of the Mediator Series.

I'll admit, when I started reading this, I felt a little lost. I think there was a book before this one, but I could follow the story based on that assumption. Most holes were filled in, which made it easier to follow.
I really did enjoy the story. The names, actually, made the book more interesting for me. Being a person who usually reads manga, names such as CeeCee, or Susannah, or Paul.
Being a romantic, I loved the triangle between Jesse Suze and Paul. Trust a girl to unknowingly lead two men on while thinking the guy she loves hates her. A classic, and almost cliche. It would be, if Jesse weren't a ghost. That was probably my favorite part. Suze was in love with a ghost, and the ghost didn't want to hold her back but couldn't let her go!
I couldn't help but get all jumpy and smiley while I was reading the last chapter!

For sure, one of the best of Meg Cabot. I fell in love with Luke Striker litteraly. I told all my friends I was in love and there like with who. so I say Luke Striker. I tell them he's a fictional character and they think I'm crazy. Maybe I am but this book is amazing and every girl will fall in love with this story.

I was very pleased with this novel. At first I put it off, thinking that it wasn't something I would really be interested in, but as soon as I started reading it, I was hooked. Jenny Greenley has a high school so typical that I started wondering if she went to school with me. Cabot paints pictures of the newspaper staff, cafeteria divisions, senior pranks, and school dances that seem real. Then, in the midst of it all, she throws a movie star into the mix and gives Jenny the task of babysitting him. And keeping him anonymous. Not something you would see in your everyday high school, but amazingly the movie star helps keep things real. He is able to see things from a perspective that none of these kids have ever had before. On his advice, Jenny goes from being the nice girl that everyone goes to for advice to the nice girl who acts preemptively to solve problems in the school. This change in her makes people wonder, but it also makes them shape up. Almost subtly, Cabot weaves a theme of teen power. Jenny turns her school around just by doing things she's always known to be right, she just didn't think she was the person to do it.
I can't go without mentioning how many times I laughed aloud while reading this. Jenny's experiences in choir with uniforms and dance routines were hilarious and incredibly close to real life. Her apathy towards school fundraisers and dances were familiar, as were the awkward exchanges she has with her crush. Overall, I found this novel to be uplifting, funny, and light. I would definitely recommend it.

Jenny Greenly, her school's anonymous advice columnist's life is complicated, while helping Cara, (an outcast.) Her best friend Trina's boyfriend, and being the anonymous advice columnist it's a lot to handle!

Since Jenny is the anonymous advice columnist she's good at keeping secrets, so when one of Hollywood's biggest teen stars, Luke Striker come to Jenny's school she's in charge of keeping his identity a secret and being his official tour guide.

At first Jenny doesn't think to much about Luke but later they become friends. Suddenly one day at a car wash Luke's identity is reveled because of a famous tattoo he has on his bicep. Girls at school go crazy and pretty much all the teen girls at school are in love with him and want to go to the Spring Fling with him.

Later, Luke takes Jenny to his condo and has a very deep talk with Jenny basically saying, "You're to nice, stop being everyone's best friend, go get some attitude and make a difference." And later asks Jenny to go to the spring fling with him. Jenny takes his advice about getting an attitude and confronts her best friend about mistreating her boyfriend. Her best friend is shocked and angry with Jenny and refuses to talk to her. And that's just the beginning of Jenny's new attitude.

The next day Jenny tells Cara the outcast that she's coming over to her house and helps her to be herself. She throws out the clothes that the popular people wear and keeps the clothes that's Cara's style. She also gives Cara a new look.

After teaching Cara to be herself she quits choir because she hated it from the beginning and her best friend is also in choir and is giving her an attitude. So she quits in the middle of class and throws her $180 dollar choir dress in the trash.

In Jenny's social life she knows that she doesn't love Luke even though tabloids say "Luke falls for small town Girl!" "Luke and teen girl, in love!" She knows that she loves, Scott who've she known since 5th grade and has been good friends with him. She tries to ignore the fact that yes, she's in love with Scott.

Just before the spring fling Jenny and Trina make up. Luke takes Jenny to the spring fling and basiclly says "I don't love you, I love her!" And points to the teen girl who works with Jenny making the school paper.

Later Jenny tells Scott she loves him and everything falls into place. Her life isn't Complicated anymore!

I gave this book 4 stars because the beginning isn't that great. It takes about 100 pages for you to get intreasted.

I actually liked this book a lot. I read it in about 3 hours. The main character, Jen, was developed really well by the author, and I grew to like her a lot, as if she was my friend or something. But the other characters, like basically everyone else, although I knew stuff ABOUT them, I never really got to know them. For instance, Gherr (or whatever her name is) I didn't like at all, she was superficial and always mad at her boyfriend for no reason. I don't understand how a person in this book who was really nice and smart (avoiding spoiler) could possibly have fallen in love with her, especially in like 2 1/2 weeks! All in all, I really loved the writer's style and voice (Jen, 1st person) but I feel like I didn't really care about any of the other characters besides Jen. Like, they could have all died (including Luke and what's his face) and I wouldn't have cared less. So that is why I only gave this book three stars, the author needs to work on developing her supporting characters more, I am thinking. Has a great message though.

Teen Idol is the book every teen wants to read. It is full of fun, love, heartbreak, and everyday problems. This story is about Junior, Jenny Greenly who is friends with everyone she knows. Everything is cool until a teen celebrity comes to Clayton High School. Her job is to make sure he gets to know what it is like to be in High School. But a disaster happens when a teacher's doll is stolen, choir gets irritating, and the news follows you around everywhere you go.
This book also shows people just how life is. That everyone has obstacles in their way.
The big celebrity tells Jenny to not just let bad things happen and try to smooth them out. But to stop it before she has to smooth it out. But meanwhile, Jenny has other problems to deal with as she takes the role of a mystery advisor. Anyone sends in a problem they have, and Jenny replies to them in the school newspaper. Only nobody knows it's her because the signs, Annie. This is not a book of a mere high school fantasy, but a way of showing the most difficult things in high school, besides homework.
Meg Cabot is an astonishing writer who does justice in a book about what school life is about. She writes some hilarious things, at the same moment serious difficult subjects. She is an amazing writer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic fiction.
Teen Idol is one of the most exciting and greatest books I have ever read. I couldn't stop turning pages. It was very emotive in how this wonderful book was written. I have read one her books before, The Princess Diaries too. I plan to read more of Meg Cabot books in the near future.

Literaly her best ever. I absolutly loved Avalon High because it was so suspenseful and not exactly what you expected. I expected a good story but this was amazing. Okay here are the basics.

Ellaine aka, Ellie takes advantage of her dads sabatical, seeing as both her parents are professors who study the mideval times like King Author and Lady Shallott, but anyways Ellie lounges her summer away in her pool on her raft until she starts reliving the story of King Author at her new school. Things and secrets start to come out about murders and others things and on top of that Ellie is in grave danger.

I recommend to everyone looking for a thrill!

I was surprised that I really liked this book. Being familiar with Cabot's Princess Diaries, I thought I would give this bit of fantasy a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the way Cabot weaves Arthurian legend with modern teen angst. While some parts were predictable, other parts were surprisingly fresh and new. I would definitely read more by this author.

ellie (new girl at new school, thanks to her professor parents on sabbatical) meets will, the potential reincarnation of king arthur (and serious hottie). let the fun begin!

this was seriously one of the most fun, enjoyable, and sweet stories i have ever heard. i listened to it in the car, and i found myself laughing out loud, smiling, and sometimes even gasping while listening! ellie, the main character and narrator, was very relatable, and you felt as if you were her best friend through the whole ordeal. the teen lingo was spot on - all of the "whatevers" and "duhs" were perfectly placed, to make it that much more believable. the story moves quickly and deliberately through her first days at a new school with all of the token, and realistic, awkwardness of the experience. you could tell that Cabot knew where she was taking you with the plot, but was making sure you enjoyed the journey too.

the blend of the chick lit + hist fic novel was PERFECT. the story of king arthur is one that is well known enough to be hinted at, but is explored more deeply by Cabot throughout the tale. the romance is sweet and genuine, while the drama - though fantasy - is very tastefully done. i also found ellie's parents to be so refreshing - genuinely caring, loving, and interested in her...despite their aloofness at times. i feel like a lot of young adult novels out there have the token 'crappy' parents, and it was nice to have the alternative in this novel.

i can't say enough great things about this book. as soon as i was done, i was 1) sad it was over and 2) ready to pop disc one back in and start at the beginning!

I was a bit leary about this book and the format it was written, but I have to say it pulled me in from the very first page. It was so funny, I found myself laughing out loud on so many occasions. I also work in a law firm so the jabs at the lawyers made it even better (I completely understood what they were talking about!). It's a quick read, but definitely worth it! My only complaint with the book is that we didn't get more details on Mitch & Kate - I would have liked for them to have spent more time together. Oh well, I guess I need to get the next book to see how they are doing.

I starting reading this book right after I had finished The Boy Next Door. At first I was only reading it to see what was going on from the charaters with in that book as they are closly related yet this is not a sequel. Well I found myself just as engulfed into this book as I was in the first. It is a quick read because you find yourself not wanting to put it down. It has the characters you have to love and the characters that you know you have to hate! I recommend it to anyone who like a light hearted romance novel!
