Sterling A. Brown Books

I'm very pleased with this version of this classic, must-have work of children's literature. For less than the price of a typical paperback, this attractive hardcover version is very well bound and perfect size and format for reading aloud to little ones. Black and white illustrations are sparse but beautifully done. It even has a ribbon place-holder. Very acceptable addition to your heirloom children's library. Would definitely get more from this series.

I am very pleased with the condition of this book. Wind In the Willows has been a favorite of mine for over 60 years!!

This is a wonderful book, and a great gift for a chid in your life.

I really enjoyed reading the questions and stories that Dave Brown used in this book. I aleays knew Mitch Williams was a fun and exciting baseball pitcher, but I had no idea how entertaining and funny his stories could be. I am so glad he decided to share some of the stories about his baseball days in this book. Using the format of Q&A, was ingenious and very, very entertaining! Thanks Mr Brown for the idea, and THANK YOU Mitchell, for another wild time ! Love ya forever !!!!!!

Trivia at its best is challenging, informative and fun. This book is all three. The Baseball Triva Book is challenging enough for the most hardcore baseball trivialists yet has plenty of questions that "Joe Fan"(like myself) can answer and find challenging. 200 hundred questions - multiple choice, matching and my favorite "Who am I?". Here the authors describe a player through career highlights and lowlights and asks the reader to identify him. I was truely disappointed when I reached the end this trivia book. A must have for all fans and for under six bucks it's a no brainer!

I love this series. The last two books, Brown and Black Belt are more challenging.

This is an excellent book for those of you who have mastered Kakuro and want a little challenge, without having to think too hard. These puzzles can be solved without guessing or very much notes. If you want a really good challenge, go for the Black Belt Kakuro puzzles.

Working without artificial lights and with a manual camera, Jane Bown over a long and distinguished photojournalistic career has taken many great black and white portraits on location of the famous and once famous. The natural lighting she uses is terrific and often dramatic. Don't let the lofty title "creative process" intimidate you. Bown has very little time (often 15 minutes or less) on her assignments to do much complicated planning. Most of her "creative processes" are actually her instincts and experience built on many years of shooting portraits under similar conditions. She shows what can be done without a lot of fuss, dinkering with lights and backgrounds, and all the other trappings of a studio portrait or a sophisticated on-location shoot.

I got this book for my 1 year old daughter. She brings it to me to read to her over and over, and she happily plays with the little toy that comes attached to the spine: little mermaids suspended in glitter-filled water in clear, unbreakable plastic. If she could have written this review, I'm sure she'd give this one 5 stars! :)

These books are so cute and tough and the stories are so sweet!!! 5 stars! Get one and you will want the entire collection. We did! :)

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Jules Verne or sci-fi books. This book will definitely raise your curiosity levels. If you are like me, and are a die hard fan of the unknown, then this book is for you. I was so pleased to add a quality, yet reasonable priced volume to update our classic section in our library.

I became fed up with the supersticious side of feng shui but reading this restored my faith. Simon Brown dispells the myths and shows how it really works. He does it so well it seems common sense after a while. No wonder he does so much work for big corperations.

I tried moving my bed and changed my work position according to this book and it worked. I really do feel better.

I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a straight forward approach to feng shui.

We actually found this book at a local book store recently and my almost 2 year old daughter fell in love with it!!! It is SO cute and Amy Brown illustrated the very cute fairies and the story is so sweet! Not the mention that the floaty bar slides off and on easily which SO cool and fun for my daughter to play with ( it's like a water-globe ) and is yet also VERY durable!!! This book and the collection are wonderful! I am buying the others now! Love it! :)

I love to read this book with my little boy. It quickly became one of our favorites.

He especially likes the silver-foil items on each page. On one page the little boy's toy car is silver, and on another page his daddy's keys are silver. My son quickly learned to identify those items, and we would talk about the things the little boy and his daddy used as they got ready for their day.

The illustrations are simple and cute, and all of the interesting things are easily identifiable to little eyes.

We received this book as a gift for Christmas shortly before my daughter turned 2. At first glance I thought the book was useless because it was very elementary. Little did I realize that my daughter would soon grow to memorize it and read it outloud to herself! It shows a little girl putting on make up (which my daughter loves to do), doing her hair, wearing jewlrey, going to work, etc. All the things she sees me doing everyday and all the things she wants to do that I do.
