Another great book by this fantastic designer. You won't be disappointed in these super cool patterns.

This book has he most adorable patterns in it. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to crochet and actually likes to crochet things that you can wear and look good in!

The cover of this book does not do the interior justice. I'd seen it for sale on various websites, and really wasn't interested. I had the chance to thumb through a copy, and what's inside is spectacular. Daphne has some delightfully creative designs inside, and a profound attention to detail and line.

The interior is entirely expertly rendered pencil line drawings. If I were to nitpick anything, I'd simply like to see more.

Every once in a while, a writer comes along and breaks all the rules, transforming the genre, propelling it in new and innovative directions. In the field of horror, a few names come to mind immediately; the early works of Stephen King, the lyrical almost erotic horror served up by Clive Barker's Books of Blood series and Anne Ryce's sensual appropriation of the vampire genre. More often than not, however, each transformation, each paradigm shift, leaves the devoted horror fan feeling a little bereft, and with good reason. Each boundary that is transgressed, each new leap into unknown directions, takes us further and further away from the source from which all things spring: the ghost story, the sinister tale, whispered in the dark around a dying fire. Fortunately, for those of us who prefer the subtle shiver to the sensational schlock, Jeremy Huff offers a collection of tales that are both new and yet intensely nostalgic. It is impossible to describe the stories without risking spoilers, so I won't try. Suffice to say that Huff manages to combine current urban nightmares with the dark magics of pulp fiction's golden age. In short, these are tales anyone who still delights in reruns of the original Twilight Zone or happily picks up the battered and yellowing collections of short stories by Robert Bloch and Richard Matheson will revel in. If you are tired of chainsaws, masked maniacs slicing and dicing their way through tired storylines then Dark Reflections is just what the Mad Doctors ordered in the days when horror had wit, subtlety and an ironic moral sense.

Dirado is one of interest American photographers, he is also very kind.I think you should read his book.

Not just for Catholics, this is truly a beautifully printed, gorgeously illustrated, and intelligently written book. I was given this book as a gift and I treasure it. The "Saint-a-Day" format concisely details the lives of individual saints and intrigues rather than bores, unlike many other books in this genre. The prints--well-reproduced copies of religious paintings, daybooks, etc.--chosen for this book are out-of-this-world (no pun intended). This would undoubtedly make a great gift for your favorite Catholic, but I am not religious and I found it inspiring and lovely anyway. It would make a wonderful book for any art-lover, spirituality-seeker, or anyone who just relishes a beautifully illustrated and well-written, informative book.

If you want an in-depth, largely serious introduction to Deaf culture, check out *Deaf in America* by Carol Padden and Tom Humphries. When you're done with it, get Glickman's hilarious book, which starts where Rich Hall's hysterical *Sniglets* left off, coining new neologisms for various aspects of Deaf and hearing life. This book is a scream! (I am a sign-language interpreter, by the way.)

I just received this book yesterday and just reading through it brought tears to my eyes as I pictured my daughter in my mind. Our daughter was adopted when she was two from Eastern Europe and I am always looking for ways to deepen her feeling of belonging and solidify the fact that she was wanted by our family. I love the fact that you can personalize this book and tuck in letters in the two vellum pockets, add your own pictures, etc.... I have already recommended this book to my friends and let them see our copy. They intend to purchase as well. It is appropriate for a daughter still "growing" and a grown-up daughter as well. I only wish something like this had been available for MY mom to give me! It is absolutely precious and I plan to give it to parents of new baby daughters as well.

This is a wonderful book that tells a son all those things that are too mushy to tell them face to face. I really enjoyed personalizing the book with our own photos. My son received it for a special occasion and seemed touched by it.

Over 200 drawings and photos provide a fine survey of Wright's decorative designs, while chapters discuss his work in various mediums. Recommended for collection which already have books on Wright's architectural works, but who seek a well-rounded portrait of the artist.
