John Pezzenti has the nobility of an eagle...the stamina of a panther and the endurance of an owl intent on it's foe. He is beyond any human explanation of what a photograher should or could ever aspire to be. When I experience his photograghs I am transformed to the reality that all mankind could benifit from his example. We are but players in the realm of a wonderous life cycle...not within our command but certainly within our protection. Thank You John for your gift and sharing it!

Wow!! From the time you see the cover, you are completely riveted to the spectacular images contained within the pages of this incredible effort. John has captured on film the story of the Bald Eagle like no other. From birth to adolescence, maturity and death Jonh's stunning images ( many never before photographed behavior)have given us the rare opportunity to glimpse into the world of this magnificent bird. The pages take you across the country illustrating the plight of the eagle, as well as conservation efforts to re-establish it throughout its traditional range. Each photograph illustrates John's dedication, passion and incredible ability. I look forward to seeing more from this extremely talented man. I highly recommend this book to all. Congratulations John, continue your groundbreaking work!

Prepare yourself for another exhilarating adventure by one of wildlife photography's most talented photojournalists. John Pezzenti, Jr. has the unique ability to take his reader on a journey filled with fascinating tales and unparalleled photographs. In the American Eagle Pezzenti brilliantly captures the very essence and spirit of an American treasure - the powerful and majestic bald eagle - photographed by many but rarely to such perfection. Depicting the bald eagle in every conceivable situation, Pezzenti begins his photographic journey from the Florida Everglades through picturesque New England and northwest to Alaska - his home territory. I thoroughly enjoyed Pezzenti's engaging stories and portrayals of the dedicated eagle protectors across America who work tirelessly toward the survival of this magnificent bird. The photos alone make The American Eagle a "must have" for anyone with an adventurous spirit and a love of America's national treasure. Once again, Pezzenti has proven himself to be one of wildlife's finest photographers working in the field today.

Not long ago I sat with John Pezzenti Jr. in his beat up Suburban that he uses for nature photography as rain pounded upon the roof. John showed me a pre-release copy of his newest book, American Eagle. My 13 year old nephew from California looked over my shoulder as I turned each page, stunned by the breadth and depth of John's photographic coverage of this symbol of America. To say this is a remarkable book is an under statement. My nephew summed up how magnificant this book is when we were driving back home. "John's pictures are amazing," Shane said. "I'm going to start saving today so I can buy that book when it comes out!"

I came across this book while looking for a present for a dear friend who divorced a few months ago. She's feeling depressed and, well, hopeless. This was the perfect book. It's poetic but easy reading, spiritual but fun, lighthearted and serious. I've been happily married for 22 years (at least happy every other week) and it was a wake-up call to me as well. I think I had better apply a little romance to my marriage. I think a previous reviewer called it a valentine. Great idea. Give it to a friend on that day of the year when it is most miserable not to have a lover - Valentine's Day!
This is a rare find, a real gem!

I bought this out of curiousity, based on the previous two reviews. It sounded as if it could be worth having. And so it is. I have just ordered two more as gifts. This is not New Age fluff, nor is it a predictable formula attempt at shallow advice. This little book is sheer delight, thoughtful beautiful, moving and full of surprises. It serves as both a personal treat and an exquisite gift. I highly recommend "Awaiting a Lover".Treat yourself and/or someone you care about.

This is the first and the best in a very long series of books concerning recording studio acoustics. Jeff Cooper was one of the pioneers in studying and building recording studios and though this book is very compact, it contains much of his knowledge in a precise and very simple way. This book manages to make a very complicated matter accesible to everyone who has an interest in building either a recording studio or a listening room.

As someone unfamiliar with construction techniques, this book was a god send to me. The writing is clear and straightforward, and it contains a series of easy to understand illustrations showing construction details. From my simplistic laymen's perspective, I can say that after reading this book, I was able to have intelligent and informed conversations with architects and contractors regarding my studio. I'm sure readers who know how to swing a hammer will feel prepared to do a lot more than just talk.
Very useful.

In my opinion this is a good book. Helps you solve some problems of existing acoustical environments and provides great info on building rooms "from the ground" as well.
Now, the author him self says that going deeper on some stuff is beyond the scope of the book, but I think a little bit more wouldn't hurt.
Other aspects are it is really easy to read and have some nice drawings of every detail approached by the text. That helps you with ideas to be developed.
I think that this is a very good book for anyone seeking basic reference to rely on.

Jeff Cooper "nails" every relevent topic on the construction of a modern recording studio. Not for the faint of heart (or wallet) as these construction tecniques are hardly ever followed in today's home studios. But at the least, you'll know how to do it right and why the real built-up studios should get the big bucks!

After reading lots of boring Acoustics books, I had already given up on finding a book with "PRACTICAL" advice on how to build a studio. The only negative point about this one is that maybe it is a bit scarce on contents (only 200 pages)... Once read the book, one wishes it had a sequel!

Along the way, he also covers the intangible and often overlooked aspects of preperation, planning, and time saving tips and tricks that make it possible to produce a quality poduct with Camtasia.

Daniel Parks' book Camtasia Studio 3 is an excellent resource for those just beginning to learn the application or with a fair amount of knowledge about it. Although he doesn't delve into certain subjects as deeply as I would have liked (e.g., limitations with certain options), at 550+ pages you're still getting a good deal of information.
I've found one or two areas of the book I don't believe I agree with Parks on in how to manipulate the software, but maybe I'm just not reading his instructions in the way he intended.
If you've never used Camtasia but expect to need some of the lesser-used options, I highly recommend you buy this book when you buy the software. Good job, Daniel!

If I could give 10 stars I would. THis book is the definitive guide to Camtasia and much, much more. The Camtasia part doesn't even start till Chapter 5. You spend the chapters before that learning about the how-to and why of 1) training, 2) marketing and 3) demo presentations. It's a Camtasia book and a How-To-Do-Great-Presentation book in one. And all done in an entertaining by the author's warm personable conversational style.
I wish the author would write more books. About Sony Vegas, about Serious Magic Ultra 2, about search engines. He is so good.

If you are serious about getting a proper understanding of Camtasia, then you definitely need this book. As far as I'm aware, it is the only such book available. Sure you can try using the Help material supplied with Camtasia, but it is difficult to learn well enough that way.
Camtasia Studio is a complex video recording and editing package, and there is a great deal of detail which is difficult to understand at first. Even with this book I'm needing to re-read whole chapters in order to get sufficient understanding of the suitable techniques to apply. The book isn't an easy read, but essential if you are to get maximum value from Camtasia.
The author, Daniel Park, has actually worked for the makers of Camtasia in the past, although he now works as a consultant. This gives him both an insiders and outsiders objective perspective, which allows a reader to get a fuller understanding of all the intricacies. The presentation is well-informed and conversational, although more attention could have been given to the learning needs of a naive user.

I will try to write this reveiw again. I wrote one before but Amazon deleted it. This book is a gem. It is small in size but BIG in content. You will not be sorry you bought this book. Edgar Alwain Payne has condensed all the best composition techniques into a very small space. Plus, the later editions of this book contain color images. Although Amazon says it's out of print, it isn't. It continues to be offered by the publisher for a reasonable price.

I love cookbooks and have a lot of them. This has truly become a favorite. I have made 5 recipes from this book and have enjoyed and marveled at everyone. The chicken with apples and roasted sausage with cider dressing was unbelievable. The apple blackberry crisp is a new family favorite. It is such a fun read. Makes me feel very connected to my food.
It truly makes you want to go to Vermont to visit the farm. A real pleasure you won't be disappointed.

I bought this for my wife after eating at the Gatsbyesque Shelburne Farms Inn this summer (at which Chef Gencarelli is the head chef) and must say it is fabulous. The recipies are both incredibly delicious and beautiful, as well as approachable; with the emphasis on local ingredients you don't have to order the book from Amazon and then half the ingredients from "obscurefoodstuffs.com" or the like. We have both loved making recipies from it. You will love this book!

This is a beautiful cookbook! The recipes are a great mix of rich and complex to earthy, fresh and simple. There are also wonderful pieces between the recipes on Vermont farmers and artisan food makers and the featured local ingredients which are fun and informative reading. I might add these recipes are certainly not just for the local Vermonter as I'm out in California and easily able to cook the recipes by occasionally using a suggested alternate ingredient. I've made a number of recipes from the book already and can't wait to make more, some will certainly become standards in my house.

We got this book for Christmas for my daughter when she was 18 months old (2007). It was great as we traveled over the holidays to try out all the looking and finding on the various pages (each two-page spread has a box on the left side with a brief rhyme and pictures of the objects you're supposed to find in the main picture). It's helpful that, rather than "trickier" look and finds for older people, the objects pictured in the "find this" box look just like the objects in the larger "real" picture.
Some pages are harder than others -- my husband and I had a hard time finding a couple of things in the parade picture on the first few readings -- but that keeps it interesting for the many times you and your toddler will read this. And you will. The back of the book also has pictures of the various Sesame Street characters featured, with suggestions for additional looking and finding/games to play with the book as your child grows. I like that it's a book that will "grow with her" in that way.
I have recommended these look and find books to all of my friends with children ages 1 through 4: they're a lot of fun, and they help develop observation skills, besides the obvious educational component of learning the colors of items you're trying to find (red things on the Elmo page, blue on the Cookie Monster page...).

I bought a bunch of these Look and Find books for our daughter (including this one). She received one for her first birthday (Pooh) and that started the shopping trend. The bright colored illustrations and the suggestions at the back of every book on how to use the books to play different games are wonderful! Highly recommended for just about any age!

I bought this book for my 20 month old twins based on a friends recommendation. They absolutely love the size and pictures/ colors in the books. We do story time at bed time with other books but this is one I leave laying around and they pick it up and point to things throughout the day and "read" it themselves. I see a lot of room to grow as we move beyond just naming the sesame street characters, balls and hats to actually using the tools listed in the back of the book for more advanced "looking and finding".

This incredible book for me is a totally new
way of illustrating a fairy tale.
The description of this fantasy world using
postcards is innovative and very interesting.
I strongly suggest this book to all the
art lovers.

As an artist of middle age, I sometimes think of my art as good and my growth as complete... that is, until I look at work like this.
Suddenly I feel like a beginner again, with nothing to do but learn and get better at my art. Mr. Scheurer teaches this teacher how to teach better, just by the inspirational settings he creates and the drawings he does from deep in his imagination. There is a whole world residing in him that is too fanciful to describe. He is my new favorite artist.

Even though this book, at first glance, appears to be an art book, there is a very charming story woven into the "stamp" descriptions, as well. Each page features an illustration of a stamp from the imaginary realm of "Entropia" and a description of the event or history the stamp is commemorating. I read this book in two sittings, only because I had an appointment to keep that tore me away from such a beautiful book. Once finished, this book left me with a strong desire to read and see more of Christian Lorenz Scheurer's "Entropia".
Great art book and story.

Bought this book as a gift for a friend but then ended up keeping it for myself.
The fantastic story and beautiful illustrations felt like a mix between Nick Bartock's Griffin and Sabine and Miyazaki's Spirited Away.
This is most inspiring fantasy book I read this year!:)

This is a user friendly book to have close at hand. If you're like me I am always looking at ways to incorporate colors, designs and arts and crafts style into our 1922 Chalet Arts and Craft's home. I especially appreciate all the colorful pictures and the textiles shown. Paint, stenciling and wallcoverings being modest in cost and are realistic changes that are indeed affordable. Lots of ideas and examples to pull a room together. I refer to the book frequently and I am pleased I bought it.

For newly into the arts and crafts movement and restoring our bungalow, this book concentrates exactly where we needed it to -- the interior. From shots of wonderful restored homes to our favorite section (before and after), this book will become our favorite resource. Excellently focused!

As soon to be purchasers of an 'arts & crafts' home in the Hudson Valley (NY), my husband and I never heard of 'arts & crafts' style homes. This book has been such a wonderful inspiration for us. The book is filled with color photos, wonderful ideas, themes and history! We will borrow from what we've learned and put those concepts, colors etc to great use in our new home. What was especially dramatic was the before and after pix of rooms/homes. You won't be disappointed in this purchase.

My 2nd grader does not like to read. I bought these cds to encourage the reading process. Just starting in chapter books this year has been a huge change from simple picture books. Reading the books along with the cds has helped the books seem more interesting and easier to get to the end without getting distracted.

We bought the entire Junie B book collection when we were on holiday in the States last year as they are very difficult to buy in Australia. It was so exciting to find that they were available on cd! Lana Quintal reads them so, so well. My two kids (aged 6 and 8) love them so much that we've had to stop them listening to them at bedtime (which was why we bought them!) as they weren't getting to sleep! Too busy listening (and giggling!). The only slightly annoying thing is that you have to change cd's half way through stories. Not a big thing, just a little inconvenient is all. We have a 10 hour car trip coming up in a few weeks, and I know that we are going to be relying heavily on these to keep us sane!
WE just love Junie B. Jones!!!
