i was blown away by the insight, intelligence, and eloquence of this book. its a must have for any aspiring college student!

Great book. A big variety of examples. This book is not about the images which you can on a regular cd sleeves. You won't find here any covers of gangster-rap grills close-up and other bs. This book is about a different way to approach a cd packaging, new ways of expressing the product (music) through the actual cd "cases". Highly recommend for a personal library.
plus don't forget to check out the actual bands and music, most of it is a-rated.

What a fabulous collection of Santa images! I bought this for my mother for Christmas, but then decided to give it to her at Thanksgiving so that she can use the tear-out Santa postcards included in the book to spread holiday cheer this year! Agatha Gilmore's introduction is as insightful as it is delightful-what a lighthearted yet informative way to bring out the art lover in all of us. This book was a hit when I brought it out at the Thanksgiving table, and I can't wait to buy a few more for my other relatives. And at this price, it makes a great stocking stuffer as well!

I LOOKED FOR BOOKS WRITTEN BY MRS. COWMAN, HAVING READ HER "STREAMS IN THE DESERT" FOR YEARS AS A DAILY DEVOTIONAL. THIS BOOK ABOUT HER HUSBAND WAS EXCELLENT. THE MISSIONARY LIFE SOUNDS VERY GLAMOROUS TO MANY PEOPLE, WHEN IT IS VERY HARD, HARD WORK. PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE FIELD HAVE A GREAT FAITH AND MUCH COURAGE AS DISPLAYED BY THE COWMANS.

This well-written, beautifully illustrated book captures Boston University the way it was in 1950: a quiet, determined force for social change. No one needed to burn any buildings there. Peace, brotherhood, equality and self-reliance were already being taught in the very capital of abolitionism and hope for the ordinary man. Out of this loving humility somehow rises the heroic, captured in the stained glass windows and other monuments of the chapel, and written about so well by president Daniel L. Marsh. For example, we see, in full color, the window of the four chaplains, who died when the Dorset went down, after giving away their life jackets. One was a BU grad. These and the others depicted in the chapel were the true champions of freedom. Charm? Certainly, and more than that.

Roald Hoffmann's "Chemistry Imagined" is not only a fascinating book about chemistry: it is also about live, society, history, art, creative thinking. Through several small tales, Hoffmann show to the readers an insightful view of how chemistry is the central science, its contributions to actual society life style, its importance in economy and live and, maybe the most important concept, its strong relationship with art. In some way, the creative process for science is the same that for art. The excellents illustrations made by Vivian Torrence, are the best landscape where the readers can "imagine the chemistry" behind the words of Hoffmann. A must for all the people with an interest in chemistry or science (or, as I said, art).

This is a beautiful, detailed collection of illustrations from vintage children's periodicals. I loved the seasonal decorations. There is even one for May day! These pictures are perfect for illustrating memory albums. Lots of fairy pictures, the entire book has a magical quality!

This beautiful work is inspiring to all who work in the area of education and childhood studies. It is a delight and offers new insights to the reader.

Dr. Frank Netter again illustrates what cannot be seen in a straighforward and accurate manner. This is part of the CIBA Collection of Medical Illustrations by Dr. Netter and is a must for all medical illustrators and doctors.

I am a chiropractic student and have found this book extremely helpful in my studies. Not only is it easy to understand and follow due to the professionally drawn anatomical illustrations, but it also helps in diagnosing all types of disorders that I am studying.
