I came across this book...I wanted to say that I think it is not only a wonderful, inspiring book, but that it is also informative, and on the 'must-have' list.

this is so brillant it shows somw of his best work it is really worth getting

Giger is the artist who created the creature for "Alien" movie. If you like "gothic", creepy, spooky (little bit) style, probably you will also like the creatures that he draws. I would consider this collection of postcards a good bargain for a sampling of his works. But how appropriate are these cards for mailing out to friends is another question. Maybe it is better as keepsake or collection rather than goodwill (hard to imagine) postcards.

obviously this book is not for everyone, but for those interested in anatomy art, the illustrations are amazing

This is a very good overview of anatomy in art. Great reproductions. It has proven a very good source for images, and the writing is astute and informative.

Is the best book on Saint Non that are writed

I have been coming back and back to "Illuminations" for many months. There is a surpassing beauty to the images and in the uncomprimising way in which they have been selected and printed. The text adds a useful dimension, including the "illuminating" foreward by the curator of the Getty Museum, who has spotted an obvious (so far relatively undiscovered)future major figure in photography.

This is one magnificent work. It covers the major themes of the Bible with detailed analysis and relevant sidebars so that anyone in a Bible study group or reading the Bible on their own can have a meaningful source of interpreatations. Each page is a new subject, which makes it simple to use. Pages can be read on their own or the entire book can be read. Bible verses are quoted on each topic so the reader is always aware of how the idea is being applied.

This work is less than 300 pages, but it is so rich in detail that one will not be able to skim through it in a couple of evenings. Once you start reading, it is hard to put down and is hard to not read every word on every page. This book helps one gain perspective and context. At the end is a summary of each book, including the apochrypha. In the main text, non-canonical books like the Gospel of Thomas are mentioned, so the reader can rest assured the author put as much scope and thought into this work as was practical.

Bible scholars, Bible study groups, general knowledge seekers, historians, philosphers, and many others will find this book extremely useful and user-friendly. Anyone disappointed in this wonderful volume is just not interested in learning.

This is a wonderful overview of the Bible illustrated with color art from down through the ages. Quotes are from the New Revised Standard Version, a translation which is favored by scholars for its accuracy. The comments are insightful, interesting and accurate. A great supplement to this book is THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE BOOK OF PROVERBS by Cody Jones. Numerous characters from throughout the Bible are pointed out who illustrate King Solomon's witty observations on human nature. Many of the riddles and mysteries of Proverbs are explored with surprising new answers. Proverbs are a treasury of God's wisdom and give practical applications of Biblical values in punchy memorable sayings.

This book is a very good addition to your library, regardless of whether you're an infrequent performer of invasive procedures or if you're practicing in a busy PICU. I particularly like the illustrations for teaching procedures. Students and residents can read the descriptions and see the pictures both before and after either observing or performing a procedure and really consolidate their knowledge of the technical specifics. This book should be part of the library of any ICU that cares for pediatric patients.

This illustrated book/guide is a fantastic suppliment for the novice medical student up to the seasoned Pediatrician. Every chapter and procedure includes indications, countraindications, complications, equipment needed, techniques, author's remarks, and completed references.

A very broad but useful reference book about illustrating for fashion. Real hints and tips and a real analysis of what is required when illustrating. The clear categories and breakdowns, like the media techniques and fabric representation sections are very useful. The use of sketch books and working drawing sections are helpful to students. A very thorough book.

I feel like this book could teach anyone to illustrate effectively using the 12 step method. In school we used 9 heads in my fashion illustration class, and I did not learn much. However, after purchasing this book, I took about a week to go through and learn the steps, and now I can draw croquis that look very good. The techniques can be used to create croquis with many different poses, using one basic body. Anyone who would like to learn fashion illustration should buy this book.

I would like to congratulate Prof. Fernandez on publishing his book "Illustration for Fashion Design: Twelve Steps to the Fashion Figure." If you do not know how to draw yet, it is not a big deal. If you never had color pencils, markers to draw, it is all right. Prof. Fernandez will teach you step by step to make the best fashion illustrations. You will practice a lot, and the magic will happened - your fashion figures will overcome the still motion. You will see the movement, the capacity, the figures will "walk out of the pages" to help fashion designers to make their dream images into reality - from drawing to mannequins, from mannequins to fashion shows, from demonstrations to custom made clothes in designers stores, etc.
I got the privileg to see the fashion illustrations made by prof. Fernandez and the students' progress using his unique teaching technique.
Everybody knows that drawing, singing, and dancing require creativity and talents. Prof. Fernandez takes the opportunity to teach both creativity and talent of fashion illustration for fashion design. Thank you for making it avalable for wider mass. Thank you for sharing your hands-on skills. Thank you for the book!
I thing that this book will be purchased by every fashion design student. The fashion design education programs are blooming, and I strongly believe that this book should be on the Libraries' bookshelves, college and universities' bookstores, and everybody who would like to learn fashion illustrations from beginning to advanced levels should purchase this book.

The designs are very lyrical and romantic. There are knights in battle, maidens in distress, and classical gods like Neptune/Poseidon. Many of the illustrations have intricate, ornate borders that are as interesting as the main illustrations themselves. Jousting, sailing ships, mythical creatures - if you're looking for chivalrous or courtly drawings to inspire your own art, this is the book for you!

Wonderful illustrations from a work of romance, chivalry, and adventure, with classical mythology tossed in. I believe the only pieces not included from the six-volume original are the double-page title spread and the cover design featuring Una and the lion (used when the work-in-progress was being issued in parts a few cantos at a time, but also bound into some finished copies). "The Faerie Queene" is like an alternate version of the Arthurian Legends--the same type of stories, but not the same stories--with the admixture of other fantasy genres. These other elements mean that there is more nudity here than in illustrations of the actual Round Table stories, in case that matters to you. (When he married, Crane promised he'd no longer depict the female nude from life, but memory seems to have served him quite adequately for this labor of love!)
