Great Training material

Review Date: 2007-11-05
We used the Parrott's marriage mentoring curriculum to train our marriage mentoring couples. The material is well organized and I found it to be user friendly. It was easily adaptable to our needs. I appreciate Les and Leslie Parrott for their credentials, their pioneering efforts, and their overall presentation. I appreciated them that much more when the couples we trained also had a positive response to the Parrott's materials. I would recommend these training manuals to anyone who is interested in becoming a marriage mentor or wanting to train other couples to be marriage mentors. Of course, it is best used with the entire kit that the Parrotts have developed.

an amazing piece of scholarship

This article, written by one of the most attractive women on the planet, is sooooo good. It is scholarly, funny, brilliant and a joy to read, and the sexy parts are, well, darn sexy. I don't think i have ever read anything better than this, including Gone With My Wind by Orson Wells, or David Kopperfield, by the noted Dutch author, Charles Dikkens. Too bad this is out of print.

In this book, the author clearly sets out the principles, procedures, and applications of modern psychological motivation theories within an educational context.
Reeve especially discusses eleven inner motivational resources, the underlying theories and their applications in real life:
1. Self-determination

4. Self-efficacy
5. Personal control beliefs
6. Achievement strivings
7. Goal setting
8. The self
9. Curiosity
10. Interest

This book is a very good blend of psychological theories and practical applications! Very recommendable for teachers, coaches and trainers!

Helpful Votes: 7 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2000-02-24
The Internet has opened up a number of educational opportunities in recent years that have allowed parents, teachers, and students the opportunity to take advantage of a great wealth of information. Linda Joseph has written Net Curriculum to provide her readers a glimpse of what the online world has to offer in the way of educational opportunities.

A number of Websites have sprung up offering a variety of educational assistance. Many target specific ages and grades and others meet specific educational objectives. Linda Joseph presents her readers with a broad range of educational Website categories. Topically listed Websites cover art, biographies, geography, government, history, immigration, law, math, music, science, social studies, writing, and more!

Other helpful Websites listed in the book offer readers access to actual lesson ideas and activities, many of which educators and children alike will find quite interesting. Viewing from the lenses of live video cams, viewing Civil War photographs, visiting online museums and art galleries, publishing news and stories online, and sending Web postcards are some of the activities featured in the book!

Linda Joseph offers her readers basic information on getting connected, accessing online information, sharing information with others, Web publishing, student safety, copyright infringement, fair use, and acceptable use issues. Readers will learn the basic principles of Web design while creating their own school Website!

This book is ideal for home school and public school teachers, parents, and Web developers who are looking for answers on how to make use of Internet technology to broaden the scope of available educational materials. There is an abundance of resources online and Linda Joseph has opened the door for accessing much of it!

This is the fourth year I have used this book, and I have found each issue to be excellent. Keys to understanding and interpreting the scripture are included, along with questions to stimulate discussion. I use the book in conjunction with other resources, with this being the primary one. Lessons include applications in the world. The #1 resource; just an excellent work!

THE book for any art teacher
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2001-02-02
Any teacher looking for innovative teaching methods with regard to technology MUST read this fantastic start-up book! The layout and format make this book very easy to use, the accompanying CD-ROM is exceptional, and the information is priceless. But the real marvel here is the author herself, Dr. Deborah Greh. Her writing style is so fluid and generous that you find yourself actually WANTING to take in more of what is more or less an instructional manual. Her understanding of the technology makes the material easily digestible, and her warm and practical approach to teaching will make you want to fly (or drive, or walk, or roll out of bed) to Staten Island to take a class with her yourself!

BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Facilitators should learn from Mona
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2006-03-02
First: Mona is an awesome facilitator. If all online faciltators would take cue from Mona, their classes would be much more successful! (I am a seasoned online learner so I can judge this fact.)
Second: In the future, when I become an online facilitator, Mona's insights will be the ones I take to heart and apply to my own online classroom.
Third: Mona has a wealth of experience to draw from. Therefore, her intuition is based on tried and true means of helping adults learn in an intensse environment that can leave the student behind quickly.
Thanks Mona!!!
