Caricature Books

Bought this book for my dad and now for my brother who are both addicted to model railroads. It is so true and such a funny book. Every page had me laughing. My dad took it to his breakfast club and they all sat around laughing at it. Great book, every model railroader should have it.

As an American living in Alsace, France, I am interested in how WWII affected this area of hot dispute. Tomi Ungerer's memoir is informative concerning the Nazi occupation, and his ability to paint a vivid picture of Alsace, gives the reader a wonderful introduction to this unique area. His pictoral display, which ranges from his own childhood artwork to advertisements and newspaper clippings, brings that period of history to life. This book is a quick read because of his use of illustrations in telling his story. I highly recommend this book to others that want to learn more about WWII and the unique Alsatian culture.

This is a suberb overview of the current state of digital cartooning. It showcases many of the top digital cartoonists and comics artists working today. It features beautiful full-color spreads of digital art, reproduced large (thank you very much), and details on the background and approach of each featured artist.

The book also includes many useful tips and techniques for digital cartoonists, although its real strength is as a showcase of some of the best digital cartooning and comics art out there. A beautiful book.

I love this book! It's very funny, and it's an easy and fun to read to kids (and also dogs ^_^). It is basically a summary about taking care of a dog. (But don't take it too literally)

Top Dog is separated into nine different sections, containing different little sentences. I really enjoy the illustrations, which are on every page, but aren't in color (in my book). My favorite line is 'A comfortable place to sleep is, however, essential to your pet's wellbeing. A raised canvas couch will keep him out of draughts. And wicker baskets are always popular. You will soon discover the sort of bed he prefers.' And then there's a picture of the dog sleeping in the owner's bed. Har Har!

Yeah, so this is a really great book. Even though I'm a teenager I still take it out and read it, and laugh at it all the time. I really recommend buying it!

A student of mine brought this book to my attention. I assumed it would be cute and trite and had no idea that 30 seconds into reading I'd be laughing my head off! The illustrations are to the point, original, and hilarious! This book is about the humor of REAL love- the kind that is not always the perfect hearts and flowers romance one finds on TV and movies. Great gift idea- for a significant other, anniversary/engagement/wedding gift, or just someone who needs a good laugh. I'm sending one to my Mom!

This book is an excellent resource for people who what to develop healthier eating habits, those who like to watch their fat & calorie consumption, and those who are trying to lose weight. It is clear, concice, and informative, and has been very helpful to me.

I bought my copy in 1980 at the U of Houston bookstore for 28cents at the close out table. I was taking Federal Income Tax at the time. I have since carried this wonderful volumne of pictures and priceless IRS audit situations to my office everywhere. After more than 20 years as a tax preparer and tax lawyer, my clients still love this work. A must for any CPA or tax preparer office.

Zen Master Don Gilbert is a rare gentle soul. Not only did he write this book he did all the drawings as well. And it was and is my son Christopher who has the patience needed to help me understand what this book is trying to say. I am a tad dense at times.

As the inside cover notes: "Since the world is constantly changing, and we realize nothing is permanent, the fluid teachings of Zen are eminently adaptable to our Western world teaches".

On page 135 the author reminds us that the main character (a dog) named Unk is not so concerned with discovering Reality. As usual, he is trying to find ways to avoid it. Thus I was reminded how Zen and what I believe Christ taught are so important. Die to self. Die to ego. In doing so our eyes and ears and senses are open. And this is "Life".

I didn't start OSU until 93 but my brother was there during Potshots run in the Lantern. I would enjoy when he would bring home the Lantern so I could read it. Then he got me the book for Christmas. I still enjoy reading the book almost 20 years after it was published.

All of Bentley Boyd's books are wonderful. I have bought all of them and donated them to the library and have a set at home. What a wonderful resource! What an interesting way for people to learn information.
