I am an aspiring beginner pianist, and this book is for a beginner much better than all the other blues / rock compilations
which I browsed or purchased, because the author manages to start with more easy left hand combinations, which are then gradually
developed. There is real thought in this (even if you might not realize that at the beginning) and obviously a lot of teaching
experience. A great book and for its price a tremendous value.

The book explains the essential of classic rock'n'roll piano technique in the most handsome and 'user-friendly' way. The basics
explained are useful for understanding and breaking down some more 'modern' piano styles too. Thanks Mr. Cohen!
This is a great book for beginners!

I have a couple of books that teach rock n'roll piano, both of which are quite good, but I think that this one has easier
voicings for beginners. I like David's commentary on the tape; these things are all very helpful. This book was so good
that I am interested in getting some of David's other books.

enjoys being able to read her own Bible with simple words that are at her reading level. Highly recommend!

to try to read it. It is entertaining for all. Thank you Mr. Mcphail for writing such a fun book.

It was about farm animals who didn't have any idea what a sheep is. They learned about what a sheep is because the sheep
taught them. But she also reminded them that they are all farm animals. The animals also compared the differences of how
they look and live.

This children's book describes the animal- and plant-life found in the desert in the southwest U.S., including the Papago
Indians. Children learn more about what it is like to live in such an environment. The book was illustrated by Peter Parnall
and was a 1976 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustrations in a book for children.

The Desert story is beautifully depicted, wonderfully written, enjoyed and gives a vivid insight into life stories and cultures.
I have purchased and read many of "Byrd Baylor's" books. Read them to grandchildren and also read them to very elderly frail folk in nursing home care and been very much enjoyed by all.

While you might mistake this for "just" a children's book, it's actually an exuberant expression of the unrestrained Imagination.
The alliterative wordplay has the clever elasticity of an Edward Lear or a John Lennon, and the art itself has the deceptively
childlike, "old soul in a young body" quality that distinguishes all of Souther Salazar's work. Joyfully recommended!

I bought this book on a lark because I love Souther Salazar's artwork, thinking maybe if I liked it I would send it to my
nephew. I didn't like it, I loved it, and bought another for my nephew so I wouldn't have to give up my copy. The pictures
are vaguely reminiscent of "Harold and The Purple Crayon," happy and bright with clean lines, and the alliteration is clever
and fun to read. I really do think it's a book kids will love to hear and read over and over again, while also being a book
their parents enjoy.

This story has 3 chapters, so readers have very clear story breaks. The chapters increased the understanding of the students.
The pictures help the children figure out what the story is about. The humor is a bit advanced for the kids, but the pictures
make them laugh. The book is fun for adults to read because of the humor.

This book is a great first chapter book for children. In each chapter, the main character, Detective Dinosaur, solves a mystery.
The mysteries are often silly, but they are always fun to read. For example, in one chapter, Detective Dinosaur is looking
for his hat, and it turns out it has been on his head all along! In another, he goes to see the doctor because he is sick,
but the doctor is not anywhere to be found. So that is the mystery. It turns out that the doctor is home in bed because
he is sick too! My son, 5, read this book to me (a chapter a night) and laughed out loud at least once per chapter. This
book is good, clean fun and perfect for K-2 readers.

My 4 year old son insists that I read Detective Dinosaur to him over and over. He picks out new words each time we read the
story. We practice using different accents (Bogart, Karloff) to make the characters come alive. Sometimes, we have to read
the book a few times (and there are three stories) before he drifts off to sleep, but its worth it to find a book that a
boy loves.

I bought several of the books in this series for my three-year-old daughter, and they have become her favorites. The plots
are easy to follow and, for her, reflect everyday life - playing with friends, making dinner, shopping, riding bikes. She
is totally absorbed when we read them, and particularly enjoys looking at the beautiful drawings. I highly recommend these
books to any parent. While the simple and repetitive language may seem dull to us, it is comforting to small children.

We bought 5 of these Dick and Jane books for our two oldest girls, ages 6 and 4, and they love them. Their reading has improved
dramatically. Our oldest has read all five books. The price was unbeatable. We had a coupon, so we only paid a little over
$10 for all 5 books. If we had paid [...] they would still be worth it.

the newer reading programs. Offers a dyslexic child an opportunity to repeat a word over and over in order to store it.

My 2 year old LOVES this book!!! We "tone down" the fact that some Dinosaurs eat others, but she loves the realistic pictures,
loves hearing the names, and learned to identify and pronounce all the Dinosaurs in this book the second day we had it...
this book is fantastic! The ONLY drawback is that now our daughter wants more books just like this, and we've not been able
to find anything else quite like it.

I was a big fan of the Eyewitness books when I was a kid, and so I decided to buy this for my Dino loving cousin. He loved
it. Just like all the other Eyewitness books it was filled with big interesting pictures, and was understandable for all
ages and reading levels. I recomend this to anyone searching for an informational dinosaur book to give to the little ones.
Worth every cent.

I just purchased this book for my Scooby-lovin' first grade daughter. The story and illustrations are cute - not scary.
Perfect for a 5 or 6 year-old. The age states K-grade 2, however, an average K - grade 1 child will not be able to read this
without help. The sentences are short, but many of the words are on a 2nd grade level. The best thing is that the dialogue
is written to sound just like the t.v. show... Fans will LOVE that!
