How you feel about this text will depend on your level of interest in this topic. If you have a high level of interest, you'll like the book; otherwise, you will be bored with the level of detail. I thought the case studies and profiles alone were worth the price of the book. The case studies describe the considerations/limitations the marketing team faced and describes the program conceived, presented from the perspectives of both client and agency. This is one of the rare textbooks I have kept after the class was completed.

He gives mostly color pictures with narative of all the why's and how's of doing the shot. Many well known Hollywood personalities are mingled with other glamor photographs. He has diagrams of the lighting equipment and does mostly Nikon camera work using 35mm Kodachrome ISO 25 film.

Promotion and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) by Richard J. Semenik is the best of it's kind. I purchased the book for an undergraduate course in IMC. The content illustrates real world situations as well as theory and provides useful and colorful examples including: advertisements from past and present, current statistics, diagrams and real stories from the industry's professionals like I have not found in any other books of it's kind! I currently use "Promotion and Integrated Marketing Communications" to teach seminars and collaborate with others in my field on workshops demonstrating tools and techniques, strategies and objectives neccessary for businesses to succeed in the present and how to prepare for the future!

Conley shows that there ARE STILL interesting aspects of the presidency that have yet to be researched. In the long run, the book's most valuable contribution may be its potential for explaining the early legislative successes of President Bush (who by any reasonable standard had no mandate whatsoever).
Conley has also managed to write a book that is accessible AND interesting to a variety of readers. Her book is well written, with enough substantive information to pique the interest of undergrads and casual readers but with enough well designed statistical analyses to satisfy even the most ardent of number crunchers.
