If you need to brand yourself or your company, this is it.
Helpful Votes: 7 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2008-01-20
These pages in art and word take you to the best brands and into the future. Anyone seeking to start a company, brand a company or brand yourself needs to purchase this book. This book has been instrumental in helping me brand myself in my new endeavor. By far this is the best book on finding your own brand. And yet is more it directs you to the Lovemarks of the future.
The value of this book however goes beyond branding. When the music stops, the fun ends, and when I am overwhelmed I pick up this book and the creative spark returns. The combination of art, word and brand in these pages are more than magical. Five Stars and worth the price. I Quote Lovemarks and say you must call the designer edition "Love in the the Bank".

Essential guide for HR staff
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2001-04-24
Anyone who has watched the matketplace over the last ten years has observed a couple of trends:

- merger and acquisition activity is on an ever-accelerating uptrend, and

- many mergers fail.

Analysis of the failures in M&A typically point to the difficulty of blending disparate cultures.

Hanson has codified her deep experience in managing the HR aspects of mergers and acquisitions. She has taken a complex and delicate topic, the merger of workforces with different cultures and backgrounds, and created a framework and approach that can be applied to this activity to assure a solid result.

This is a solid piece of work that belongs in the library of every HR professional.

An Old Friend's Autobiography
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-02-16
This is a really well done autobiography of the son of the founder of Makers Mark. His family originally made TW Samuels whisky but sold that business. Bill is an old college friend so I can relate to this book very well. I knew his parents and can tell you that the content of his auto. is accurate. I think anyone can enjoy the way in which Bill presents the history of Makers Mark and his part in making the brand so successful over the last 30+ years. Bill is a true original in marketing the Makers Mark product/brand.

Making ads pay
Published in Unknown Binding by Dover Publications (1966)
Author: John Caples

Collectible price: $599.00

Average review score:

A must have!
Helpful Votes: 9 out of 9 total.
Review Date: 2005-04-04
As a beginning copywriter, John Caples wrote what is probably the most famous ad of all time, "They Laughed When I Sat Down at the Piano..." With 31 years' experience and the same skill and imagination, he is also the author of this practical text on the question of central interest to all copywriters--What makes one ad pay, while another fails?

Caples analyzes the hundreds of successful ads quoted in this book, and the many side-by-side comparisons between two similar but not equally successful ads. In analyzing these examples, he isolates the essential appeal of the ad that made it a success. These analyses yield principles, procedures, tips and practical suggestions--each tested with 31 years' experience--that you can immediately apply to any copy assignment in any media and style.

All copywriters, from cub to chief, should find a spot within easy reach for this useful, practical text. For anyone who works with copywriters, or wants to know more about advertising, this is the best book around for describing clearly and factually what the copywriter is trying to do, what his problems are, and how he goes about solving them.

An Old Book what some great ideas
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.

It is an old book with some great ads in it. And he tells you why they are great. Also ways to get customers views of your product. It is not the best book for the money but I have no regrets buying it, because of ads and whys to get information from customers. They ways may be old but would still work for today's world. I may put this book in my shopping cart for just $19.95. I don't know yet.
