Literature in Art Books

This is a great book that gives a very brief history of Ohio and it's sights and symbols. It gives a page each of information on things like the state flower, bird, tree and flag and shows you how to draw them, step-by-step. The state seal, the Capitol, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Neil Armstrong Air and Space museum are also included. I used this in homeschooing activities for my 2nd grader and she learned a lot from it and had fun. The directions are easy to follow, and facts about each symbols are fun and easy to understand. Highly recommened!

This is a great book. The instructions are concise,simple and easy to follow. Initially, the drawings appear very basic but with repeated practice, they become quite adorable. My 8 year enjoyed this book because of the gratification he received when his drawing actually looked like the animal he was trying to draw. It's fun.

My nine year old says: "This book is a good book to learn how to draw puppies and kittens. The drawings are so cute, they're almost real."

I used this book with a fifth grade class as part of a Russia history and culture unit. The directions were easy to follow and were sights that were easy to add information and pictures are readily available. There are so few things out there to help facilitate a unit on Russia that I felt that this book was a rare find.

We got this book for our 5-year-old grandson and he absolutely loved it. It's a very simple book, with only five different cars and four different trucks to draw. Each one is easy and yet the finished drawings look very much like real cars and trucks. For each vehicle, the author also adds suggestions at the bottom of the page for ways to add special features to the drawing. Our grandson spent countless hours drawing each vehicle over and over again.

The book's great strength is its organization, making it extremely accessible to students. Libraries are indispensable resources for students of all ages, and not everyone knows how to use them to their best advantage. This book tells you how. I can't think of a better gift for a student- it will pay dividends throughout their life.

This is a useful, informative and well-researched account of Wilson's creative process. While those looking for critical essays or critiques of Wilson's plays will find it a bit thin, that is neither the intent nor focus of the book. It is devoted to the process by which Wilson creates, sythesizes, molds and finishes (or avoids finishing) his works. A valuable guide to Ma Rainey, Fences, Jitney and Joe Turner, as well as Wilson's success on Broadway and beyond. With an update that includes Piano Lesson and Seven Guitars, this text could prove to be an indispensible guide for the dramatic scholar interested in Wilson's work, mentors and influence.

I really love this book. Every time my daughters asked me to make a drawing of an animal, I would come up with a "kindergarden look kind of drawing". With this book, I have been able to draw animals that really look neat and realistic, and the steps are extremely simple to follow. I bought some other drawing books, but even though the drawings are more sophisticated, the instructions and steps are much more complicated. I think, on its kind, its a great book, very easy to follow, and with very rewarding results.
