A great children's book

The Tortoise and the Hare, Friends at the End : (2 Books in 1) (Another Point of View) is one in a series of books from the Steck-Vaughn Company that pairs a traditional children's story the way it is normally told with the same story told from the point of view of "the bad guy." It is told much in the same vein as "The Three Little Pigs by A. Wolf."
First you read, The Tortoise in the Hare. Then, you flip the book upside down and read Friends at the End. Rabbit may be the fastest animal in the forest, but he is so competitive and self-centered that no one wants to be friends with him, so he is very sad and lonely. He says he didn't really stay up all night gloating that he would win but that he was thinking about a telling remark that another one of the forest animals had said about him. Read the book to your child to find out what he learns from the race and the remark that the other animal said about him. A heartwarming story and one that you won't mind reading over and over to your kids.

An original and wonderfully written tale by Roger S. Baum (the great-grandson of the original creator of the beloved series of fabled Oz tales), Toto In Candy Land Of Oz is a picturebook story following Dorothy and Toto's further adventures in the wonderful world of Oz. In the little-known Candy Land Of Oz, which produces most of the confectionary for the Emerald City shops, his Highness the Giant Royal Marshmallow, has a big problem! Jubilant color illustrations by Ronit Berkovitz and a creative, fun-filled story combine in this highly enjoyable "kid friendly" tale that fits right in to the world of Oz and introduces young readers (especially those who are on the cusp of graduating from picture books to novels), to an enchanting and classic world of children's fantasy literature.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who would marry none but the man that could win a leprechaun's pot of gold. Many tried and failed, leaving it up to Traveling Tom, a minstrel. This is the story of Traveling Tom, and how he stopped his traveling.
This is a very charming book! My little one and I loved the story, and really enjoyed the whimsical illustrations. I must say, it put me in mind of the old stories I heard years ago - indeed, it probably is one of them, and it's great. So, if you want to share a wonder-full story of princesses and leprechauns with your little reader, then this is the book for you. We give it two thumbs up!

Any child who's had to move to a new neighborhood can sympathize with Louie, the main character of "The Trip". Feeling lonely on Halloween, the boy creates a city scene from construction paper and an old shoebox. As the title of the book suggests, Louie takes a night-time "trip" back to his old neighborhood by pretending to fly his toy plane there. As he wanders the familiar streets he encounters some strange individuals. He runs away, but they catch up with him. Luckily, a familiar feature on one of them clues Louie in on their identities. One of the things I enjoy most about Mr. Keats' books are his believable characters. Young readers can easily relate to them and the different situations they are placed in. What makes Keats' stories even more wonderful is that they are infused with charm and a hint of the imaginary, which are emphasized by his lovely paint and collage illustrations. Readers who liked Louie in "The Trip", can see him in "Louie" and "Regards to the Man in the Moon."

My mum got this book for me when i was 5 and i loved it but sadly my big brother burnt it and said it was a load of [...] what does that mean?
Then my mum told him off because it was inapropriate language I want it back it was my favourite. oh my brother is called Aaron Spreadbury and he goes to the Burgate School in Fordingbridge he is in 11ws and he has too much hair. His teacher once told him off for analysising the situation too much in tutor time I do not know what this means either can anybody tell me. To get my own back on him im going to tell you that he has a phobia of knobs and he fancies a boy called Toby Daniels. I SWEAR ITS TRUE I SAW KISSES ON HIS TEXT MESSAGE TO HIM!! Tweenies RULE!

I'm a big fan of Rafe Martin and this is one of my favorite books he's written. The tale is somewhat like Cinderella without the prince. A mean aunt and cousin plot to do away with an orphan by making her do impossible tasks. The twelve months assist her in doing the impossible which enrages her relatives. This is a good book to do in the fall. It teaches the 12 months, seasons, apples and harvest time. I enjoy this book very much.

A few minutes ago I suddenly began to remember reading this book as a little girl. I am sorry to see it is out of print, but I plan on buying a copy to make sure I have it to read to my kids.
Though I haven't read this recently, it is one of the few books that made an impression on me as a kid, I loved the artwork especially. I am now an aspiring artist and a voracious reader, so maybe it had a good effect!
