This book was a total waste of money. It is useless as a review book because it has all of the answers not only written in but hi-lighted. Along with that I had to track it several times, was first told to contact Amazon as seller had not been contacted, then I was recontacted by seller telling me it had been overlooked. Took three weeks to get this book. Will not order from this seller again.

This study guide in no way prepared me for the dantes exam. I spent along time sudying the guide and knew the material very well, but when I took the test none of the material was on it. The test was completely different and I failed it. It was a waste of time and money, I am now apprehensive to buy any other Rudman study guides. I would suggest to save your money and not buy this one.

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS BOOK!!!

The book didn't prepare me for the test at all. The contents was not related to the test questions in any way. I failed the test because I wasn't prepared and I relied on the book for preparation. I feel that no one should buy the book because it's garbage and it's a waste of money.

About 1/2 of what you'll need...

Reviewed all of the tests included in this study-guide. Many of the questions were on the actual test and I would not have known the answers without having studied this guide. I also read an entire 'Intro. to Law Enforcement' classroom text prior to my DANTES test. The test includes many more questions regarding the 'criminal justice' system than I expected as well as several questions regarding current day law enforcement statistics. Neither this study-guide nor the text prepared me for all of these questions. Review of this guide as well reviewing a guide for the DANTES Criminal Justice test would probably been a more appropriate use of time.

but only because it is so hard to find. Got mine for $100 off eBay. It's in pretty damn good shape........

On the other hand, if you're a big fan than you already have Decade of Decadence on CD and video, so you've already seen 90% of the pictures this book contains.

The Biography portion is VERY POORLY WRITTEN;I think this thing was a limited product for this very reason.

If you dont already own the above mentioned CD and VHS, that would be your first stop. Those should satisfy U for awhile.

Out of Print...how do I get this???

Would love to have this title for my collection but I am having a hard time finding any printed copies. Motley Crue is back and this tour "Red, White & Crue" is going to break the bank with ticket sales. We need to print more of this item for the many fans that will demand it.

Use REA's CLEP Human Growth and Development instead

I used the Educational Psychology test prep guide to study for the Ed. Psych CLEP exam. This book was so out of date that it included references to imbeciles, cretins and morons when talking about people with developmental disabilities. There is no study guide included in this book. It is simply a series of tests with answer keys, but there is no explanation of the answers.

I also recently took the Human Growth and Development CLEP and found that the study guide put out by REA for that exam was invaluable in studying for the Educational Psychology exam.

I bought this book in order to enhance my study for the CLEP exam in Educational Psychology and found myself deeply dissappointed with the content. In my past experience, this group of study guides has offered better works. In the case of this effort, there is very little direction for study that is of help and the book is simply a huge compilation of tests and answers.

I am an MBA candidate and am also working on a second Bachelors in Psychology. I need to complete Educational Psyhcology as a requirement for that Bachelors. I am busy and I would not usually waste my time writing this review if it hadn't annoyed me so much to have purchased this book and thrown away time and money. I do not recommend it to anyone, unless you are just desperate for resources and can't get anything else.

Save your money and instead buy Anita E. Woolfolk's textbook on Educational Psychology and study from it. The ISBN is 0-205-28997-5. Yes, the textbook is more expensive but you will actually have something for your money.

This book shouldn't even be sold. It does not help at ALL with trying to learn.. and I don't recall seeing anything that was in this book used in the actual exam. I think the soap opera review teaches more about educational psychology than this junk sandwiched between book covers. My advice: steer clear- it provides absolutely no help.

This "study guide" is worthless and a complete waste of time. It is full of inaccurate & seriously outdated information as well as blatent contradictions. I took the DANTES exam in May 2002 and the information in this book is not even remotely representative of what is on the exam.

Awful! Don't buy this for a study guide. It was a huge spiral bound book full of possible test questions. It is a waste of money & time. By a college text book or a Psychology review (like Barron's reviews). This was absolutely no help.

Warning - Not a study guide

If you're looking for material to prepare you for the Dantes test, get a college textbook instead of this one.

Basic Statistics (Dantes Subject Standardized Tests (Dantes)
Helpful Votes: 17 out of 18 total.

I found the book really worthless. There are a lot of test, but only a number of them have any explanations about the answers. It reminds me of a book (if you want to call the ring-bound papers a book)that a student would throw together with tests he has collected from a friend over the years. All the test are different lengths, some are 10 questions (that does a lot of good) and some are 30-40 without explainations. Also, who needs the section on "Careers with Statistics" Overall a poorly put together book!

Don't buy this book

This book is poorly made and poorly written. It looks like it was typed with a typewriter back in the early 80s. The content is not what I expected at all. The problems are much more advanced than expected. I just called the Dante's testing center and found out that they are not familiar with this book at all. They suggested that I use textbooks listed on their Fact Sheets, or that I use their online tutorial program. This book was a waste of money.

Bad info and padded book

I got this book to brush up for the DANTES test since it had been 20+ years since I last had college physics or chemistry. Obviously I'm a non-traditional student. I was sorely disappointed. The book looks like it was produced by a high school teacher in 1975. Many of the illustrations are hand drawn and somewhat inaccurate. The book is about 100 pages in length and consists of a several tests mostly in the 30-35 question range each. In order to make this book seem much longer than it is the first 20 or so pages are deligated to telling you about the test and how to take a test. It includes information lifted directly from the DSST website. If you haven't read this before you probably haven't done your homework on the test you will be taking.

Once you get to the questions there are really only about 100-200 questions in the book. Questions are repeated, sometimes verbatim, from one test to the next. They are not even reworked to ask the same question in a different way.

I also found several wrong answers in the book. (this seems to be a theme for the Rundman Q and A books)
If you didn't know better this could really mess with your test prep.

It's been a long time since I had my last formal physics class (at a very good private university) but I didn't read in any of the magazines that much had changed in the last 500 years or so.

Skip this and get some flash cards or a basic physics and chemistry text.

Information in book did not match the test

I studied this book until I knew 90% of it and the other 10% I would make a very good guess. I studied a couple of hours each day for many days. Well, imagine my surprise when I went to take the test of 140 questions and I knew about 10 of the answers! This book was not the only aid I used to study, but it was the principal one. I also googled physical geology and found much info that I also studied. I did not pass; I have taken several DSST classes and CLEP tests and always passed until this time. The book did not cover the material that was on the test I took.

The Original works are all amazing feats with intricate details and thought processes. This book however, despite the author having read such creations and marvels, is full of holes, and brings no joy or enthusiasm onto the reader. If I had not already read the subject books, I doubt that I woud ever want to read them.

This is probably the worst review book I have ever purchased. It is supposed to prepare you to take an exam on the Middle East yet it doesn't even have a chapter on Iraq! The exam covers everything from ancient times through the present day, yet the study guide consists of cursory descriptions of a few countries.

It's good to have the sample tests, but you will need real books to prepare for this exam. I recommend The Middle East, A Brief History of the Last 2,000 Years by Bernard Lewis and The Contemporary Middle East - a collection of essays by various authors.

This exam only has a 41% pass rate. It is very difficult. STUDY HARD!
