I am a high school history teacher and I have home schooled my children as well. Children adore these books. It breaks my heart that so many of them have done out of print. Would that these were available to our schools instead of the 20 lb., boring texts we are forced to use.

Written by an instructor at King's Cooking studio in New Jersey and a registered dietitian, The Coming to America Cookbook: Delicious Recipes and Fascinating Stories from America's Many Cultures offers delights from Mexican, Irish, Chinese, Moroccan, Turkish, Ethiopian, Nigerian, and more cultures, immigrants from whom have come to America over the course of centuries and shared their individual cooking traditions. Recipes such as Oh-So-Hot Salsa, Korean-Style Short Ribs, The Best Baklava, Fried Bananas with Cinnamon and much more reflect a wide range of mouth-watering international morsels to please any palate. A brief introduction to the different cultures featured and a kid-friendly tone distinguish this varied and delightful cookbook.

This is a wonderful book and it only took three days to get here too.

This new edition is a solid undergraduate text that covers both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. It strength is in its accessibility, clarity, and structure, as it won't overwhelm the beginning Communication student. Each chapter has objectives and a summary and there are separate chapters outlining wrtiting the research document for both quantitative and qualitative research. Has good examples and sidebars. Suitable for a thesis or introduction to research methods class. Graduate studnets might find it overly simplistic, although it may be a useful refresher for them as well.

This is one of the best textbooks I have read for a while. It's informative, but easy to understand and to study from.

This is an extremely beneficial reading for those who have a general knowledge base of Organizational Theory. Readers who do not have any organizational theory background may consider the book esoteric. Charles Perrow's critical analysis of organizational theory identifies the general evolution of models of organizational theory and respective influence on the field of organizational theory. The book cites several case examples to help create mental hooks for the basis of each model's origin. Perrow's "Complex Organizations" is dichotomized between the schools of sociology and administration. Organizational theory is not easy to digest but this book is very easy to read and digest in just a few sittings.

Even English professors often admit they wouldn't read James if they didn't have to. The Spoils of Poynton, however, is an enjoyable and easy read. 20th century readers prefer a plot that flies by and, thus, aren't often interested with the snail paced action of James' psychological dramas. However, James' intricate and subtle method, his ceaseless asides, are well worth working through. "Spoils" is a great introduction to James' work because it displays his talents (particularly, his character interaction is intriguing) with rare brevity (184 p).

Rogers gives us an important text that is a welcome addition to any library of theory materials. Easy to read, concise, and set up to maximize learning, the reader is broken into two sections per chapter. The first is a primer for the second, a review of key concepts and terms needed to grapple with the basics of feminist discourse. The second section of each chapter is feminist theory from the great thinkers themselves. Top thinkers from each of the feminist traditions are given ample time of their own to tell important stories and essays in order to give the reader the best information possible. A must have.
