I was forced to buy this book for a culture awareness class in college. It turned into one of the best purchases of my life. Asian, hispanic, African-American and Indian stories are the content, and each story is touching. Real insight is gained and an understanding is found as you turn the last page. Buy it for your children, the hispanic section makes wonderful bedtime stories! I can't comment on the usual specifics .. dialouge,scenes, etc ...since each section is so different. But the book will fulfill you, guaranteed!

In this book, Goldschmidt, an emeritus anthropologist, pulls together several strands of scientific work on genetics and cognition into a view of human evolution that provides some deep insights into what makes us human. One of the primary insights that he builds on is the recent discovery of mirror neurons, which allow us to learn through observation. Goldschmidt's idea that the evolution of language and tool making are related is also a valuable one. But most important is his overarching idea that affect hunger is the source of culture; that it is a biological need, yet one that connects us with others, and therefore encourages the cooperation and empathy that makes culture and civilzation possible.

More than what I expected! Every artist should have one - it relates history periods to cultures then units all the arts together so you can have perfect understanding of it as a whole. Really fantastic! Full of information!

This is a huge compendium of information on teaching art. What makes this book special is that it shows how to integrate art into writing workshops. It also shows how to help children discuss a piece of artwork and make aesthetic judgments. There are extensive lists of children's literature about art and relevant websites. It also has lots of how-to information on working with tradition art materials such as paint, clay, and paper. It also discusses bookmaking, photography and video production.

This handbook is a wonderful reference for broadcast writing and offers good general tips as well. The authors bring personal experiences to the book, and though I read this for a college journalism course, it was an enjoyable read and I intend to keep it on hand as I begin my uphill climb in the TV news world.

This book has been used broadly in American Universities from the first Edition. This book provides a lot of infomarion about history, procedure, and broadcating technology itself in the United States. Currently, the area of broadcasting has been broaden into Internet. Web-casting is one of new types of broadcasting internationally. This 4th edition includes this new shapes of broadcasting on the Web. I hope this edition gives more insights of American broadcasting systems.

This is the best reference on this subject in my library. Unfortunately it is out of print. Good luck finding a copy.
