Excellent for reviewers and good for beginners like myself. I learned everything about economics only from this book and took both practice tests. I got 3 on both because I couldn't get enough practice out of this book. So I recommend beginners to get supplements with more practice tests or ask your teacher for worksheets.

Better than any that i've seen.

I took both of the macro and micro exams this year. I had a kaplan guide from my teacher, which was very, very confusing and had very few graphs or visuals.
this aide explained concepts much better and had more graphs. I studied more for the micro exam (i didn't take a class in it - I think I easily got 4 just from this book), but what i reviewed from macro was also pretty good.

this was such a helpful book. the practice test is a must- because you will find VERY similar questions on the AP exam. I dont think i would have been ready for the exam without the book. it tells you exactly what you need to know and how to use it. This book is flawless. If you're taking the AP US government you need to buy this book.

The Princeton Review for Government and Politics was an excellent book--well worth the price. I got a great score on the exam from all the review I did using this study guide--in fact, quite a few of the exam questions were ones that I had done before in this study guide. It provides an excellent layout, and an easy way to find exactly what you're looking for. I took seven AP exams in high school, and used four different test prep companies--always stick with Princeton Review, the layout and explanations are so much easier to understand, and I actually scored higher on the exams where I used the Princeton Review books. Just a point of advice, don't waste your time with the "Peterson's" AP review books, I have never bought anything so worthless, their explanations confused me more than before I used them, not to mention that quite a few specific subject areas were never even covered to any depth, leading me to believe that those areas were not as "important" in the grand scheme of the AP exams--man I was wrong. Always stick to Princeton Review, they havn't steered me wrong yet, I'm getting their MCAT review book next.

thorough & concise--exactly what a study guide should be!

As with most The Princeton Review study guides, 'Cracking the AP US Government Exam' begins with a very informative 20-30 pages simply about the exam itself: topics breakdown, percentage covered on the exam, performance range for specific scores, multiple choice strategies, free-response essay breakdown, etc. Unlike other publishers, this informative briefing on the test is especially particular to Princeton Review study guides, and extremely helpful. More than 80 pages cover the details and general concepts of the subject material of the AP US Government course. Concise and well organized presentation of a large amount of material is a remarkable talent of The Princeton Review. A thorough and active reading (highlighting, underlining) of the review one week in advance should prepare the competent student very well. Displeased with my class textbook, I never read an entire chapter (or took notes) but felt very confident after completing the study guide and practicing with copies of former AP exams. One minor drawback is a lack of review questions at the end of each chapter, yet the practice exams are almost exactly identical to former AP exams I received from my teacher. In addition, thorough explanations for each question and free response section make the practice exams great learning and review exercises. One note: If you are particularly interested in purchasing a study guide for the practice exams, my experience as a very study-guide-dependent-honors-student has led me to the conclusion that The Princeton Review and Kaplan create the most representative practice exams for AP, SAT II, and SAT exams. In that respect, I do NOT recommend: Barrons, Petersons, Teach Yourself, etc.

I cannot say enough about this prep book. I studied for one month prior to the test, and I only studied this book. I scored a 279 out of 300 (220 is passing).
Yes, I do have brains, but I feel that I owe most of my great score to the awesomeness of this book. I hate surprises - of just about any kind. This book tells you EXACTLY what you need to know, and shows you EXACTLY what you will see on the test. There are ABSOLUTELY no surprises on the day of the test! The prep test you take in the book will show you how to answer the questions. The L.A.S.T. isn't hard. It is tedious. Knowing what the questions are going to look like and how to maximize the 4 hours you have to take the test by ignoring erroneous (and time consuming) text is a big key to success. I do not recommend doing "outside studying" because if you are planning to be a teacher and have four years of college already, you will not have trouble passing. Don't make yourself crazy brushing up on all your old textbooks - it is a waste of time. Most of the questions have the answer embedded in them already. You just have to fish it out. This book teaches you how to do that. Buy it.

I used the Princeton Review test guide among a few others. These guys truly have the NYSTCE "nailed." It was accurate in its strategy recommendations, but more important, it represented the types of questions on the exam very accurately. This is the only guide you need or should use.

This book is extremely helpful in presenting tips for test taking strategy. It carefully explains and demonstrates a variety of techniques you can use for problems that you don't automatically know. It goes in depth about process or elimination and what you can do to give the best educated guess on questions you don't know.

I highly recommend this book as an addition to your other GRE study guides/courses. After having taken the GRE before and then reading this book in combination with my other study guides...I am already seeing significant improvement in my scores on practice exams (taken from an ETS study guide.)

I have the 2nd ed of this book. I was worried about the math section, not because I'm bad at math, but that I haven't done math for 5 years. But luckily the math on the GRE is middle school math. The book says that there is no college-level math. If there were, only math majors would do well. I like the practice problems and solutions in the book, but the book could've shown the reader more than one way to solve a problem. I remembered how to about 50% of the problems. After reading the math section, I can now do about 75% with out any problems.

The Best $10 You'll Spend on GRE Prep
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2007-09-01
Crash Course for the GRE is primarily about the test itself, not the skills the GRE ostensibly tests, so it's suitable for test takers of all levels. It doesn't try to teach you math, reading, or writing; instead, it arms you with strategies (and an irreverent attitude) for tackling the test itself. You'll learn how to find the correct answer to problems quickly, and how to make an educated guess when you can't find the answer. You'll also get advice about how to make the most of whatever time you do have to prepare for the test.

While a selection of practice problems is included, you'll almost certainly want more. If you can afford a copy of Princeton Review's Cracking the GRE with DVD, 2008 Edition, that's an excellent choice. But if $10 is all you have to spend, or if you don't have time for lots of practice, this book will make an excellent companion to the free test prep materials available from ETS itself.

Whether you're studying night and day to get a perfect score, or just looking for some quick advice to avoid embarrassment on test day, this is $10 well-spent.

As a fourth year medical student, I found this book to be a great reference during my ICU rotations. That being said, this book should not replace "The ICU book" as a standard operating manual. This book contains much more Information than the ICU book, but is better left for reading at night after you have finished your day.
For example, the Chapter on Mechanical Ventilation, is a terrific, very thorough explanation of Vents and vent management, but is very detailed. A little more detailed than a medical student needs. This book will serve me very well during residency.
This along with "The ICU book" are must haves for your Critical Care library.

This text was designed to be a review manual for the critical care boards. It does an overall excellent job and succeeds in its mission superbly. It should be noted that this text does not replace standard texts of critical care medicine but can easily act as an additional supplement to them.
It may be a little too advanced for medical students but I will highly recommend it for my interns and seniors doing their critical care rotations. It can easily be read during the month rotation and brings out the essential key points that they should be learning.

With educational and testing standards getting more and more difficult, it is nice having a tool to provide students with practice with language arts skills. These Daily Language Practice sheets give 1st graders a daily dose of basic editing (adding capitals, basic spelling errors, punctuation). They also include a variety of other activities including sorting words, yes/no questions, rhyming words, and other fundamentals. The Friday sheet always has a different and more lighthearted activity. There is also a Daily Math Practice book and I xerox them back to back and use them as bellwork. Both are half-sheets which are completed in about 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

If you liked the movie then this book is a must! Not only was Kevin Costner make one of the best films in history but he followed it up with this great book! My daughter picked this one up for me at a library sale. I didn't even know it existed to be honest or I would have purchased it myself. The book is a bit tattered so I checked out the local bookstore and although they didn't have it on the shelf, it can be ordered. If you liked the movie then consider this book for your collection. I fully recommend this great work of art by Mister Costner and friend.

I wonder if Kevin Costner even realizes the artistic and historic contribution he has made with this film. As an artist I found this book to satisfy my graphic appetite and as a romantic I have, once again, been allowed to travel back in time. Mr. Costner has shown us his artistic brilliance in so many ways and I thank him for his efforts. Enjoy the book; it is a treasure.

The book explains how the show got it's start. You read about how the actors were choosen and about them personally. There is a section about what each actor has done since the show ended. An episode guide gives a brief summary about all 1245 shows. There are several pictures throughout the book. Stories are told about the writing, set designs, and funny things that happened during the run of the show. This is a very interesting book.

We play this CD every night as I begin our bedtime routine with my five-year-old son -- each song becomes more soothing as the CD unfolds, by the time he is out of the bath and we are reading a book, we are both totally relaxed, and as the final "Cradle Song" plays, he is drifting off to sleep. I find myself sometimes humming the songs during the day -- they definitely affect you on a subconscious level, in a peaceful, relaxing way. A great buy all around, for any member of the family, of any age.
