I recommend this product highly. For about an hour or so, I watched and paused the video on this CD-ROM many times until I was able to create all of the splices.

I lost a bet for a case of "something" on this software. A boating friend of mine said that he had a computer program that could teach anyone how to make an eye splice in less than 15 minutes.

I bet that my wife couldn't do it.

The video instruction could not be clearer. Very easy to use. Great product.

I got this CD-ROM at a boat show. It's great stuff! I followed the instructions and put the CD-ROM in my computer's CD-ROM tray. The software started by itself, without installation. Within a minute, I was watching detailed video instruction on ways to splice 3-strand "rope" or "line". "Rope" is used for water, and "line" is used for water. (See, I even learned something about splicing terminology!)

I always wanted to learn how to make a splice but it was too hard to learn. In an hour I actually made an "eye splice" that impressed my knowledgeable friends. They thought it was great!

This software is like watching video of a person showing you how to follow every step. While the video is playing, you see detailed text pop up next to snapshots of the splice for each step. I thought that this was really cool. The person who does this describes everything very clearly. It's easy to follow and understand everything.

If you want to learn ALL of the splices on this CD-ROM, expect to spend a weekend. A few of the splices are challenging.

It is very easy to select what you want to learn and stop and start the video. I now can make splices used on some boats. I can also "finish" a splice with a "taper" or with "whipping". Do you know what a "grommet" is? (Look that up in your dictionary!) It's easy to make.

The software is just too easy to use. I think that anyone over the age of 10 could spend an hour to learn how to make nearly any one of the splices. I really recommend this sofware for anyone interested in boats. Its better than any book.

Warning: Some boats don't use 3-strand (twisted) line. However, this software is still very useful. Once you learn how to make an "eye splice", you'll never be the same again!

Mac Digital Photography is written in a fun and friendly, yet professional manner. You will learn a variety of techniques in many short examples. I hesitate to call them tutorials, because most of these examples are essentially a short number of steps that are between 1 and a few sentences in length. There are also many bulleted lists that contain useful definitions and explainations.

Both of these formats are very easy to learn from. If you are uncomfortable with image editing, you will definitely find this book easy to follow because of this. You won't get bogged down in long and complex tutorials - the examples are short and concise, and very easy to follow. The best feature of this book is how useful it is to beginners; however, it will also benefit people who are more advanced computer users - but who might never have taken a close look at really how to go about making their digital pictures look better. Cropping, editing and color correction can make a crappy picture 100% better.

What I found as an unexpected bonus was a wealth of projects and crafts that you could create using your digital camera. This is something I have not done much work with at all (apart from printing my photos on fancy papers). Finding out how to create greeting cards and other projects was a nice surprise, and the projects were presented in a clear and fun way by the author(s). On first glance, you might wonder why there is a special book on digital photography for Macintosh owners. After all, the camera doesn't know what kind of computer you use, and the key software tools for post processing, such as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are available for both Mac and Windows platforms.

But think about it some more, and you'll realize that, indeed, the Mac is more than a platform -- it's a way of looking at how you use a computer. This book follows that approach, with more than you'd find in a book aimed at the general digital photography audience. For example, there are crafts and projects in this book, showing you ways to use digital photography that you might not have thought of. There's even a disc full of try-out software and other goodies, which is something of an anachronism in these days when any of the products included can be downloaded over a broadband connection in a few minutes. But, Mac users are more interested in ease of use, so the disc makes sense.

No doubt Mac owners will flock to this book, in much the same way that they've made the Macintosh a favored platform for digital photographers, both amateur and professional.

The very first paragraphs in MAC Digital Photography give very good advice - get close to your subject! Ah yes, what many photographers fail to do. They want everything in the picture when what you really want is to focus on your subject. Remember to use the Rule of Thirds and your photos will capture exactly what you want to see in them. Remember, too, to make your backgrounds simple and uncluttered. Don't distract the viewer with images unrelated to what you want them to see.

Wow and that's only the first two pages in the book. If you learn nothing else from reading this book, remember those points and your pictures will be greatly improved. Other points discussed include camera angle, orientation, and lighting. Tips on setting up your home photo studio are included. Keep reading the first chapter is you want information on depth of field and exposure and posing your subjects

All of this great information was contained in Chapter one and there are eight more yet to read in this well written and easy to understand book. Without going into a rewriting of the book, other chapters contain explanations of what digital camera you should get, some of the software available to make corrections to your photos after you take them and how to use that software, how to get the photos in a hard copy format and don't forget about saving them to CD or DVD.

Another chapter explains how to share your pictures by email or watching it on your own TV. It also tells about using your camera as a "notepad" for such things as remembering a quote in a book or showing your spouse several outfits you might buy but couldn't decide which one.

Chapter 10 tells all about the items you can create from the photos you take with the digital camera. Things like, greeting cards or photo wheels - a picture wheel to show your mood for the day. A collage is a fun thing to display on your wall and this chapter helps you create one.

Finally, there is a CD loaded with software for your MAC - a trial version of PhotoShop Elements 2, DVD PictureShow, FlipAlbum3, PhotoToWeb, plus a demo version of LiveSlideShow 2,0 and the shareware version of GraphicConverter. Still not enough software? There are others such as Photo to Movei, Image Surfer, Stitcher, Genuine Fractals, PrintPro and iVCD for Video CDs!

If you are thinking of buying or already have a digital camera to go along with your MAC, this book would make a great hands-on help file to have right at your fingertips.

I've been playing this in a regular senior English class. Many of the students are finally understanding the play. The actors in this cd do a wonderful job interpreting their lines. The Scottish accents are well done. Sound effects make it vivid. It's the best production I've found to date.

This CD is excellent--the witches are super creepy sounding, and the unabridged text is well performed. Definitely helpful for teaching Macbeth.

This series is wonderful if you are a teacher. It really helps students to hear how Shakespeare's words are supposed to flow when spoken by classically trained actors. Students snicker a bit at first when they hear the Scottish accents, but they get used to them quickly and the quality of the recording is excellent. The cheesy music in between acts is irritating, but you learn to ignore it. A fun bit of trivia is that the porter scene is acted by David Tennant who most people know as the current Dr. Who! It's also a treat to be able to listen to Macbeth in my car. Shakespeare makes rush-hour almost tolerable.

This Book for Mac or Windows is Outstanding. It covers just about all the commands in Lingo, And no one knows them better than the person who wrote the Lingo language. Sample movies help explain complex commands in an easy straight forward manner.

I use Director 7, and this book is made for Director 5. . . And let me just say it makes no differnce want version of Director you are using, if you want to know about Lingo, then this is the book for you! After just reading 4 of the 18 chapters of the book, I know more about Lingo then I did after reading two other books! This is a must have for any serious Director User!

As someone who both works with Director and teaches it at the university level, I'm always looking for good books for beginning to intermediate users. This is NOT the first book I recommend for beginners (usually that's Director Demystified) because it's pretty dry and technical.

But, for anyone who has a general understanding of how Director works, this book is useful in the way a good cookbook is useful. If you know what you want to do, you can look it up and find clear instructions on HOW to do it. My copy is filled with post-it markers showing the answers to questions students have raised in class ("How do I get Director to... ?) The sample movies are very helpful, and teach a valuable lesson: learn the basic principle using the simplest of movies, then apply it to the real thing.

Since the most recent version of the book covers Director 5, I'm waiting for an updated version. But most of the information in the book is still valid...Lingo doesn't THAT much from version to version.

I have several of Victoria's CD sets and I highly recommend them. I have used them to relax, go to sleep, and get my mind headed in the direction I want to go. This compilation is another excellent set of collection and it has definetely worked for me. I feel that it has helped me to have a more prosperous attitude and have been able to greatly improve my financial situation. I have listened to it about 10 - 15 times so far and it has gone a long way to help me be more optimistic about money. Victoria's voice is very positive and soothing and the subliminal side is really motivational. I truly love the CDs!

This 8 part series is a comprehensive financial prosperity package that includes solid financial planning, hypnosis and affirmations. No matter what your psychological profile, if you make bad decisions out of ignorance, you are doomed. As such, the first part of this series talks about sound financial principles. Guided hypnotic sessions follow that are easy to assimilate and very pleasant to hear. Finally, Ms. Wizell completes the course with an explanation of the concept of money as energy and provides half an hour of excellent affirmations.
I liked the fact that I could listen to aspects of the course while driving, although it is necessary to avoid driving during the hypnosis sessions. After just a couple of weeks, I noticed that my attitudes towards money were changing and I found myself getting more opportunities than usual. While I haven't won the lottery, I feel like my financial horizons are opening up in an extremely positive way.
If you're looking for more than a simple hypnosis plan, this series is perfect.

This is an excellent book for teenage girls. As I read it, I thought about my students and how they could learn much from the three girls in this book. This is a book in which most girls could identify. I read it within a twenty-four hour period and enjoyed every minute. I am thinking of using the concept for a female organization in which I'm involved. The plot was well developed with an inspirational message.

This book is a very inspirational book. It has all the drama in it that can affect you in high school. This book is about three best friends named Brittany, Natasha, and Shaniqua. They are sophomores who must deal with the joy and sorrow of life-changing events. Shaniqua's attempts to look and act sexy attracts the attention of Jordan, a teenager too full of himself. Brittany and Natasha warned their friend to stay away from Jordan, but Shaniqua thinks it's just jealousy talking. After a one time sexual tryst with Jordan, Shaniqua discovers two devasting outcomes that will last her entire liftime. Brittany tries to be there for her friend, but Brittany has her own crisis to deal with-an accident that threatens her future as a pianist. Out of all the valuable life lessons that the girls learn, the most important one is that no matter what happens, their friendship is forever.

I really loved reading Ms. Thang. I couldn't put it down. I loved that it dealt with real high school issues. I enjoyed the characters because they were very real to me. The dialogue was outstanding because it's the way we, teens, talk. I highly recommend this book to every young adult.

I would strongly recommend this book to someone who wants to know the `whys' as well as the `hows'.

It is not easy to find a textbook on multimedia for upper level undergraduate and graduate computer engineering students. This book has filled the need, and has presented an excellent and interesting introduction to multimedia in fifteen chapters. Although, it has been assumed that the readers have knowledge about discrete-time signals and systems, a chapter has been included to review basic transforms and filter theory, as well as to present advanced theories such as discrete cosine transform and wavelets. The signal processing theories have been explained and demonstrated with simple examples. A strong point of the book is the accompanying CD that contains MATLAB codes for all relevant examples. The readers can easily run these codes and verify the results of the audio/image/video experiments presented in the book. For those who are not familiar with MATLAB, the processed audio/image/videos for several examples are provided in the CD. These readers can just play the audio file or display the image to verify the subjective quality. Instructors should also find the Power Point figures and tables provided by the author useful.

this book has a lot of helpful information about nuendo. I highly recommend it for the starting musician. The CD that comes with the book makes the learning process even more simple. Enjoy this product.

This book has been extremely useful. The author gets right to the heart of each section and has you recording in no time at all.

In a recent book on the Beach Boys, there is a photograph of Brian Wilson with his most important musical instrument, the multi-track tape recorder. Today's bands don't need one of those. A reasonably high powered Apple and Nuendo software will do more than was possible with rooms full of equipment back in 1966 when Brian's photo was taken.

This book, one of the very few about Nuendo, is aimed at the Beginner to Intermediate level Nuendo user. It a good place to start, or to use as a reference book for the more advanced user. At about 500 pages, it is long enough to include everything you need to get full use out of the software, yet it is not so long and ponderous like many of the thousand page plus software books.

In this book Stormie goes into great explanation about the basics of prayer, what it IS and IS NOT...and why God desires us to pray, privately and corporately. She also gives a lot of personal and Scriptural proof of God's call and blessing upon PRAYER IN AGREEMENT!
This book is very informational about prayer, especially in forming groups and gives alot of examples from her prayer groups and her church! I felt as if I had attended a service or two with Pastor Jack teaching after I finished this book. THEY ARE LIVING PROOF, as IS THEIR CHURCH OF THE POWER OF PRAYER!

She also does a great job of teaching the importance to be praying "beyond ourselves" for other peoples and countries by praying specifically. If anyone could write a book about the power of praying, it is Stormie Omartian. If you pray at all, you will want to read this book. It will encourage you to strengthen your prayer habit. If you are curious about the benefits of prayer, or exactly how to go about it, this book is for you. You will be instructed and encouraged to develop a personal prayer habit.
Once you develop this personal prayer habit, you will indeed experience the truth that there is power in prayer.

After her books Power of a Praying Wife and Power of a Praying Husband, I expected this to be more along the lines of a Praying Couples book. Instead, Stormie went with a look at prayer groups and congregational prayer. This is not a bad thing, in fact I found it an excellent book, but if, like me, you're looking for a book to draw yourself closer to your spouse in prayer, be forewarned that this is not that book. Buy it anyway.

This book spends more time dealing with the subjects of "what prayer is" and "why you should pray" than her other books. It also goes into how to pray and different kinds of prayers (confession, intercession, etc.). If you're a new Christian or haven't had much of a prayer life, this is an excellent book to get you started.

The entire book is great, but my favorite section is where Jack Hayford describes people who pray as lightning rods, acting as the conduit through which God exerts his power on Earth (pp. 91-92). There are a lot of powerful word pictures like that throughout the book; that's just the one that hit home with me.

The only thing I didn't like about the book is that Jack Hayford's comments on prayer are all related in the past tense. Granted, some of them are included as part of actual past events, conversations or sermons, and there it's totally appropriate. Elsewhere, though, the verb tense should have been modified to make them feel more current. It's not a big thing, but it does make his comments feel dated.

As I said before, if you don't know much about prayer or you don't spend much time praying this is an ideal book for you. If you do have a prayer life, but it's grown stale or could use a good goosing, this book is for you, too. I still think "The Power of Praying Spouses" would make a good book, but I'm glad Stormie has written this book as well.
