I was delighted with all the options and guidlines made available with this book. I am glad thet more answers are available to 'people in the dark'over this disorder.

An informative book for those just starting out in the business or just getting out of theatre school... or anyone curious about the ins and outs of the entertainment world, from an actor's point of view. Lots of need-to-know information here. This handbook is basically a "Best of" collection of articles from the foremost acting/performing trade magazine in the biz, Back Stage (and its sister publications: Back Stage West, the Ross Reports, Billboard, and the Hollywood Reporter). And it has a very good chapter on "Acting in Student Films" that should be read by film students and actors alike.

This is the official listing of exporters and importers that includes more than 5,000 Mexican companies involved in foreign trade. Bancomext stands for "Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior, S.N.C.", the Mexican government's development bank in charge of promoting and financing foreign trade.

I use this book in my high school English classes. It lists every book that has ever been challenged or actually banned from as long ago as 387 B.C.up through March 1999.

There are over 1375 entries, some containing more than one book. Each entry includes the place the book was challenged, when it happened, and usually what the result was.

In the back is a list of First Amendment court cases. There are also quotes on the First Amendment. Keep in mind that banning books for many people is an infringement on their free speech rights.

I plan to get the next issue, since it will include all the Harry Potter challenges in it.

If you are looking for a great resource for either personal information or in the classroom, this is the book. This has been a great book for an important subject-book banning.

I own the 11th edition of this book, and found it to be an extremely valuable tool while I was searching for potential colleges a few years ago. It lists over 400 four-year colleges and universities throughought the United States (in alphabetical order), and gives helpful information and statistics on each. The profile for each school includes its location, contact information, numbers of full- and part-time students, number of graduates, calendar structure (quarters, semesters, etc.), application deadlines, admissions procedures, the number of applicants versus the number of students accepted, percent of students that earn degrees, student/faculty ratios, tuition fees, room & board expenses, a brief history of the school, its objectives, degrees offered, special programs offered, SAT and/or ACT test score requirements and average student scores, computer and library facilities, and financial aid information. It is, of course, important to double-check the provided information with the particular schools you are interested in, as many of these things change from year to year.

Each school is also ranked as most competitive, highly competitive, very competitive, competitive, less competitive, or noncompetitive, to give you an idea of how hard it may be to get in. All the schools are also indexed by state at the back, making it easy to look for colleges in particular areas. This book is only intended to help you discover colleges that may fit your goals and needs, and to provide a handy reference to school statistics, and is certainly not the only source you should reference. Once you have a list of schools that interest you, the next step will be to contact those institutions for further, more detailed information. I also strongly recommend visiting the campuses of any schools that interest you. This book is, however, a great place to start looking. It is likely that you will come across options you hadn't been aware of before. The book is also relatively small (standard dimensions of most paperback fiction books, for example) and lightweight, making it easy to transport if need be. Overall I couldn't recommend it more highly, and I wish you good luck on your search for the perfect school!

For people looking at how colleges have changed and developed in the last 20 years, using an old Barron's guide is a great tool. Current Barron's guides have changed very little so an apples to apples comparison is fairly easy. The one caveat is that the SAT was re-centered in 1996 so you'll need a conversion chart. (For example, a 570 v 580 m is now about 640 v 590m.) As most colleges have become more difficult to get into as the college-age population rises, it can be wise (and perhaps important) to check to see if a school under consideration isn't one of few colleges that haven't improved. While it may be inconsequential, parents might want to investigate such a school more carefully to ensure there's nothing that indicates you're sending your child to a sinking ship.

The annual Baseball America Directory is the most comprehensive guide for all pro and amateur baseball from, literally, around the world. The leagues, the teams, their organizational clubs, addresses, contact information, the logos, the schedules....it's all here. I have bought, (and still own), every edition ever printed. A must-have tool for any baseball junkie.

My husband has been buying this for years through Baseball America directly. We got the best deal through Amazon, and will do again this year!

Baseball America set the gold standard years ago with their annual Directory, and have continued to improve upon a great product. If, like me, you are giddy when spring gets closer, at the thought of weekend roadtrips to baseball games and longer vacations where baseball is a component, this book is a must-have. My only complaint: Baseball America tries to wait until the last minute to publish, and that seems to have been getting later each year. I understand that some struggling minor-league teams at the lower levels may make last-minute decisions (e.g. the South Georgia Waves' move in 2002), but I didn't buy last year solely because the book wasn't available in a bookstore until early May. By that time, a significant part of the season is over! It is definitely a priceless addition to the baseball junkie's library, with schedules, team information - even directions to every stadium, major and minor-league. (Their related Almanac is also indispensable - stats on every player and team at every level, plus extras like draft summaries.)

I have bought the Directory for many years. As a fan of minor league baseball, I've found that it's resources are invaluable. The Directory is updated every year and is extremely accurate. I just wish it would come out in February to help me put my trips to Spring Training together!!
