This is the only book in endodontics today where one finds what is only available in speciality journals. I highly recommend it for speciality professors and practitioners who want to keep up with the latest techniques and products. The authors have written a truly remarkable text.

Farmer chronicles Doc Savage's first adventure.
Helpful Votes: 13 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 1999-04-27
In this well-crafted novel, Philip Jose Farmer, best known for his Riverworld novels, chronicles the earliest known adventure of 1930s and '40s pulp hero Doc Savage. Young Clark Savage, shot down while balloon-busting over WWII Germany, finds himself a captive in Camp Loki, a prison camp specially designed for incouragible escapees. Doc pits his super abilities against Camp Loki's commandant, the wiley Baron von Hessel, a complex, nihilistic creature who ranks high on the list of Doc's most undaunting foes. The novel provides insight into Doc's motives for his later life of crime-fighting, made more intense by Farmer's ingenious weaving of disguised characters from other works of popular literature. Farmer, who once wrote fictional biographies of Doc Savage and Tarzan, was well qualified to pen this prequel which stands on firm ground with the original Doc Savage series by Kenneth Robeson.

This book is out of print. See Handbook of Pulp. and Paper
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 1996-08-16
I am somewhat biased for my review of 10. This book is out of print and has been replaced by Handbook of Pulping and Papermaking. The first 20 chapters of the second edition are unaltered except for some clarifications where necessary. The second edition adds about 300 pages on wet-end chemistry, colloid chemistry, printing processes, optical properties of paper, wood and fiber anatomy, and issues of processing and process control

I believe it's impossible to judge an anthology without access to the Table of Contents. So rather than trying to choose which individual stories should get rave reviews, I suggest you take a look for yourself. Enjoy!

I"m impressed with Brian Howell's documentary work featuring the culture of celebrity impersonators. In addition to wonderful photographs, the text reveals behind the scenes information that entertains and educates. Well done.

Beautifully moving and illuminating
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2000-03-25
I tracked down this book from reading a local review of it, and I'm so glad I did. The full page black and white photos are indescribably evocative and made me wonder what the subjects were thinking, how they coped with the harsh and often isolating demands of early BC interior communities.

The foreword by Paul Yee, and Faith Mossang's textual additons provide excellent details on the photographer - his times and his life. This book is an elegant and moving insight into people who helped build the province. A must-read!
