Activities for all grade levels, nicely supplement Mary Appelhof's book Worms Eat my Garbage. I have never been so excited by a book. Kids of all ages will find the subject matter fascinating, even those afraid of "slimy" things.

This book was great. This book helped my daughter to get an A on her science project.

This is a wonderful book for young and old alike. It is full of ideas for teachers, scout leaders, and recycling coordinators looking for educational demonstrations for the public. Not to mention how much knowledge children will gain by reading this simple book.

Though written for young adults, 50 Ways to Save the Earth is packed with environment-friendly tips that readers of all ages can appreciate and adapt into their daily lives. From "Take Back Unused Medicines" that recommends returning unneeded medicine to the pharmacist so that it may treat other sick people, to "Let's Save the Tropical Forests" which encourages purchasing only furniture labeled "FSC" (Forest Stewardship Council, which certifies that the wood involved has come from sustainably managed forests) to "Leave Shore Life Alone" which reminds one that and empty shells in tide pools are the homes of natural creatures and should be left alone, 50 Ways to Save the Earth fosters conservation, global thinking, and respect for nature as well as for fellow human beings. Enthusiastically recommended especially for public and school library collections.

Steve's Ratzlaff's work is insightful, brilliant, and very do-able. It's a must read in this important election year and as casualties continue to mount in the war.

Gary Randolf has done a remarkable job of splicing natural history, Americans and psychical beauty into one great book. Traveling through time and seasons, the reader feels the words and witnesses the beauty of the Adirondack mountains. It's not just full of incredible landscape shots (both subtle and grand) but is matched with a moving narrative that warns us this island paradise will always be in danger.

Time for the world to take heed, especially in a period of history when our government seems to feel that acid rain is so irreversible here, that we can actually lower emissions standards? That the damage is already done? It's not too late, and Mr. Randorf reminds us with every page.

Berleant explains clearly why conventional aesthetics do not only impede our encounter with the arts, but even more obstruct the aesthetic appreciation of nature.Thus instead of disinterested contemplation Berlant talks about total engagement and a sensory immersion in the natural world.
