I use the month by month phonic book daily in my classroom. The book is well layed out, includes daily activities and lessons. There is no need for the teacher to look for other resources. If you use Cunningham's plan in her book, you cover all the curriculum guidelines for second grade. Two thumbs up for this book, a teacher's life saver. A must have resource for the classroom using a blanced literacy approach or the Four Blocks method.

I use this in my kindergarten classroom. This is great for me (a first year teacher). It outlines things you should be focusing on and reminds you of why you're doing so. This was recommended to me by a veteran kindergarten teacher.

Robin Davis is a genius! What a wonderful book for children. I think anyone with children should get this book!

I have used Constance Starr's Music Road Books 1 and 2 for many years. They are wonderful and thorough reading books for the beginning pianist. Make sure you start with Book 1.

This text is a great resource for any teacher who wants or needs to use music in their classroom. Many times as music educators we are expected to teach in areas we do not feel the best at. As a music teacher this will add to your confidence and give you creative ideas for class. As a classroom teacher, it will help you understand music and music notation beyond what your students need so that you feel confident to teach the basics to your students and use music as a supplemental tool in your teaching. I highly recommend this text.

Here's the deal. I've been blessed with a good ear - good enough that I have little trouble learning pretty much anything I could want to play by ear. However, if you serious about being a musician rather than just a guitar player, you need to learn to read music - I liken this to being able to communicate verbally but still being completely illiterate.

I am currently working through Bill Edwards' Fretboard Logic series (THE last word on learning the guitar - period). Arnie Berle's New Guitar Techniques for Sight Reading is an excellent companion to the Fretboard Logic books. Mr. Berle's book treats sight reading on the guitar in the same no nonsense manner that Mr. Edwards teaches the mechanics of playing. I love Arnie Berle's articles in Guitar Player and this is book is not a disappointment.

I have not found any better method for learning to sight read - period. Do yourself a favor and buy this book. It will take some work but it is worth it!

This is a gem of a book on the art of interpreting the Gospel parables by a master word smith and New Testament scholar. Paul Simpson Duke, former preaching professor and long-time homiletician, cracks open the obscure and mundane in which parables have largely been preached and interpreted by taking the reader back to the original setting of a first-century audience. With witty, imaginative, and careful scholarship at his fingertips, he establishes a well-crafted lens or frame through which to read and to hear-as if for the first time again. What is the larger context of this parable in relation to others in the same Gospel, he asks; what are parallel or similar parables corresponding with this one in the other Gospels, what keys might be used in unlocking its meaning and relevance for today? Preparing us through a brief discussion of the parable's context and structure, he then allows us to take our seat in the theater of an early audience and to listen, truly listen, to the words flung our way. Like a judicious stage director, Duke pulls back the curtain and reveals a cast of characters dressed as attention-grabbers and tainted by previously unnoticed idiosyncrasies, odd behavior, and a reprehensible or inexplicable attitude. Each parable discussion also contains a closing reflection on homiletical tricks of the trade, the do's and don'ts in communicating with authenticity, which only someone can offer who has preached the lectionary for decades--and as effectively as he has.

This book is not for the desperate preacher hunting for a quick thematic line. It is for those who have been suspecting a richer, fuller meaning of the parables all along; those who have grown dissatisfied with their own interpretive shortcuts and commentary tools, and who are at last willing to sit down and try on a set of glasses and stick in a hearing aid that will make them see and hear better-and their congregations too.

I am a flight instructor and the methods discussed in this book has solve the problems that many many students have when trying to fly an aircraft. This reading should be required by all pilot candidates and existing pilots. Highly recommended.

You must purchase this book if you are serious about learning Hebrew. It is so popular in the area I live. I recommend only this book! It is great for learning Hebrew!
