Interior Design Books

I am only sorry that there weren't more photos in the book. The book is an exceptional look into the Haiti that most of us do not see. The photos have an ethereal quality and the brief text prepares your eyes and mind for something unique.

At first glance you could be anywhere in the world. Then you take a closer look and you can't quite wrap your thoughts around what you are viewing. In one split second you're in a weird period piece and in the next you're in the present. The book's magical realism comes from the digital photography which conveys the spirit of a living home, yet it seems as if it is on your personal digital camera. The book is an experience because the photography makes you feel as if you are in the room.

Experience the book for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I can only hope that there is a volume two.

The coverage is diversified, and yet coherent. Many other similar titled books are like scramble of photos sewing bits and pieces together; this one doesn't. The 55 designers' works are well presented with good selection of high quality photos. The book design is also top-notch. It is a great book full of ideas.

I am a professional color consultant and am always looking to refine my skills. This book was much more informative than other books I've read. It tends to be written for the professional as opposed to the average homeowner, though I still recommend it for anyone looking to understand color.

I purchased this book for my Interior Design Class. There is just a lot of great information . The History of Design, architure, decortive art, mordern history; noted designers, different eras of design, dating back to the 1700's. Just a fablous texbook reference tool.

This book was surprisingly informational about historical interior design. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend this book to every Interior Designer.

Found this new Knackstedt book to be just as informative as all of her others. Would recomend this book to any one in the design industry. Happy Learning! J.

I own this decorator's companion, along with another companion book. Not only is the information helpful in Caroline Clifton-Mogg's book, but the size is perfect when accompanying you to the stores. It has pockets for fabric swatches, paint chips, photographs or what have you, but also a section for jotting down notes. I've really enjoyed and used this book, and have had friends comment that they would also like to have one.

Susan Lewis' sourcebook is a much-needed addition to the literature on Interior Design. She clearly summarizes each publication in the extended bibliography, giving the reader sufficient information to properly select texts for various research topics. As both an educator and architect, I have often referred to the sourcebook for course development and design reference. I highly recommend it. Awesome book. Great for all interior design students. Great for your library. Makes learning how to do models, etc., much easier than trying to learn from your instructor's brief instructions.
