An immense catalog of patterns appearing from 1700 to 1900, Fabrics & Wallpapers For Historic Buildings include more than 600 fabric types and patterns, more than 1,000 authentically reproduced wallpaper designs, new information on twentieth-century fabrics, useful advice, and much more. The many illustrations are in black-and-white but have exquisite detail. A superb reference for historic and periodic consultation and inspiration.

Being an interior designer, this book would be one of the best reference on my book shelves. The autour's knowleadge on fabric seems to be highly proffessional so that I believe this book could be an excellent textbook for schools. The book covers a well-summerized, but not superficial, history on each types of fabric from all over the world, and it further examines fabrics by catagories of different design subjects. Special terms on fabric design are well explained. The design of the book is pleasant, and many beautiful pictures are given which are helpful to understand the content. This is the kind of book I have been looking for, since I was an interior design student. (I studied in the U.S. so that I have seen so many other related books published there to compare !!!)

I have been wanting to try a piece of painted furniture for a while. Good and easy to understand instructions and pictures. I am half way through and it looks great.Very inspirational.

A friend purchased this book for me one Christmas. As a facilities consultant with several projects a year relocating commercial organisations, it's probably the most useful book I've had the pleasure to use - the forms are comprehensive and can be adapted for specific requirements. A worthwhile buy for anyone in this field.

Do not be mislead by the title. This is not a book about fame. It is about how to use feng shui to win recognition and be noticed ... after following the tips here I was picked by my boss for an important job and now have greater responsibilities, a bigger role in decision making and of course more money. I had to laugh when I saw the adorable tiny closet where clothes are hung on the level a child could reach them. What a cute idea. The Testu Family Home also has some interesting ideas for hanging pictures. The Cottage was quite cozy and the City Chic kitchen was pretty amazing. The Alber's home had a wonderful idea for placing the washer and dryer in a specially built cabinet.

30 nicely photographed designs with easy-to-follow instructions. The book showcases many different project mediums using a variety of decorative techniques and finishes. Also has an informative guide on the use of tools and materials. Wonderful book!

Now you can see how the designers really live in their own homes. This book is a great inspiration for people who wants to live the designer-way.

For several years now, my wife has been making holiday crafts to give away to friends and family as little gifts for Christmas and so we're constantly on the lookout for new ideas and books. My part is usually limited to the drudgery of buying (and paying) for the supplies and doing mundane work such as the cutting while my wife gets all the glory!

"Fast, Fun, and Easy Christmas Decorations" is another fine book from one of our favorite craft book publishers, C&T, who never fails to deliver great new books for each season. While it's only 64 pages it manages to squeeze in a number of quick and easy projects that can be made relatively inexpensively as well. The basic materials are various fabrics, beads, Fast2fuse, cording, glue, and a sewing machine. The individual projects will list all of the material specifics.

There are a number of different 3D ornament projects including spirals, bells, and stars. The look can be anything you want from dazzling and gaudy, to a quaint, country look, all depending on the fabric and embellishment you use. There are also chapters on making your own gift boxes, wreathes, gingerbread houses, and advent calendars, all with these same base materials. The gingerbread house is certainly the most challenging but the end result will make you the envy of your craft-making friends.

You'll probably want to have at least intermediate skill for most of these projects, especially those that require sewing (although there are some no sew projects, too) but you're to enjoy them all. C&T once again has produced a winner.
