I have checked it out twice (and renewed it several times each time) from a local library. Wonderful interior drawings and photos which I have not found elsewhere. I have asked Dover Publications to consider re-publishing it as they re-publish many books of this genre. Got a nice "thank you for your suggestion note from them", but no further news.

Some landscape design books are nice to read, but don't really help in the garden. this book had lots of practical ideas on how to match designs, plants, house colors, etc. Very useful for a non-artistic gardener!

What a great little book this is! I just got an original copy from the 1959 from the local antique store. Although it was written in the 1950s and the prices and such are out-dated (I think that only adds to the charm!), it is a good book and a fun, quick read. Everything is divided by sections such as how to spot fakes, various styles of antiques (Chippendale, Victorian, Pennsylvania Dutch), and 'Novel and Mordern Uses for Antiques'. As a dedicated practitioner of antiquing for 18 years (aka--my whole life!), I appreciate this book. And how fitting that I found it for only $6.50 in the antique store!

The Best Wicker Repair Book on the Market-Ever!

Thomas Duncan outdid himself when he wrote this difinitive book on wicker furniture repair several years ago! It is the only book on the market that covers in great detail, how to repair all types of wicker furniture.
With clear photographs and concise text, each and every step is covered that the wicker repair specialist might encounter. There are also many, many instances of woodworking problems with solutions that I found expecially helpful.
From simple pairing, twining and arrow weave to the more difficult serpentine arm and back weaving, Tom covers it all, even down to making the most difficult reed "curliques"! He also goes to great lengths dealing with stripping and paint and varnish finishing techniques.
Run right out and purchase this terrific book to add to your reference library, you'll be glad you did.

What can I say? This pack of drawings and instructions is excellent. I'm a big Reitveld fan, and previously built a red-blue, but without a measured drawing, my proportions were a bit off. This book set me straight, saving a lot of time measuring off of pictures.
After I bought the book, I built a Zig-Zag, and I'm planning to try one of his laminated steel-tube chairs as well.

Want to see the original drawings for the Red-Blue Chair? Or find a little-known fact about one of designs of Gerrit Rietveld that normally would require examination of an original or a long conversation with someone from Christies? And then, maybe, actually build the piece yourself? This is the book to get. It's not enclyclopedic, though, so make sure that what you are interested in is present in the 50-or-so works here. Also has some terrific old photographs of the workshop, original installations, lines, and advertising.
