Collecting Books

This excellent book gives the beginner and advanced rock hound all the info they need to get started finding and cleaning beautiful Arkansas quartz crystals for their collection. This book contains lots of useful information about where the mines are (including maps), how to collect, clean and trim crystals, as well as how to identify a surprisingly large number of varieties of quartz AND crystal types. Campsite and lodging information included. We had been crystal digging in Arkansas before, but found this book made our most recent trip immensely more enjoyable and successful!

This book will bring back memories of stomping through cemeteries, days spent in hot musty libraries, and the days you waited anxiously for the mailman. A book geared to the lighter side of genealogy!

This doll book is one of the best currently available in print. I am a big fan of Constance King and her doll books. She is very knowledgeable of dolls and has really done her research. She covers dolls from early woodens (from the 1800's) all the way through to dolls manufactured in the early 1900's. The prices are in British pounds which isn't very useful (unless you take the time to calculate them based on the conversion rate to US dollars), but the pictures and information is worth the price of the book. You will find yourself paging through the book over and over, at all the beautful and fascinating dolls. This book is a very nice and beautifully illustrated reference guide for all doll collectors!

This is certainly the definitive reference for hobbyists who collect figural tape measures. If you're interested in this topic, you'll love this book.

This important edition is NOT A REPRINT. It is one of the original 77 editions printed only for the original subscribers. The publisher is not stated in the book, only that it was privately printed for subscribers only in Chicago. I think it was most likely printed by the author, Ernest J. Halter. I doubt that there are very many of these editions remaining on the planet ! At the time of printing, there were only 47 subscribers ! The subscribers were very important people or institutions , such as Harvard University, the FDR Foundation, K.C. Li, Peter H. Brandt, etc. To the right person or organization, this book is priceless... It really belongs in an auction of important historical documents.

Absolutely fantastic book! I purchased a copy and was able to identify every foreign soldier I had and sold them for big bucks. COuldn't be happier!!

Great book! Perry provides a unique insight into a job we all often ignore. Perfect book for those students interested in the Sociology of work. The book also includes a historical view of the development of the San Francisco area in the 60's and 70's.

Okay so mabye some of it you do, but this book is so packedwith toys, CD's, videos, and books you won't belive it. Not only doyou learn about a lot of Garfield stuff you probibly never knew existed (Like me), you'll also get the 411 on all the stuff you own that's probibly worth a fortune (Better tell your mom to hold on to those birthday napkins you used last year for your Garfield party). Plus a history on Jim Davis, tips and suggestions on how to get into the cartooning job, and many secrets on the Garfield cartoon itself. Belive me, this is the best Garfield book I've come accross in a LONG time! Have to wait a couple of months? Well it's worth the wait.

I bought this book for my wife, who makes Gollies in all sizes,and she was astounded to see the huge variety of them that have been produced throughout the ages since they were first introduced. For anyone who wants to collect ideas for making some, she recommends this book as perhaps the most comprehensive collection of golliewoggs there is.
