This book is great and there are so many who still don't know that it is available as an ebook as of a couple days ago. [...]

This is the only way right now to get the missing chapter. Crazy information to learn.
It's not just for those interested in doing sales or marketing. It is equally important for any one who is sold to. (That's basically everyone on the planet right now.) Read it and you'll see why.

I highly recommend you read it soon.

Probably some of the best marketing information available. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have a basic foundation of marketing. These are higher level techniques and that should only be used on top of a good marketing foundation. Definitely recommend.

PS - Don't waste big $$ on amazon buying the print version when you can get the ebook with a bonus chapter for $27 at http://www.simpleology.com/courses/mcm/

Yes it is ethical.

First let me address the "gradeschool" post. I'll agree with you partly... Mark Joyner would NOT be found working for a premier marketing agency... He would OWN it!!

Not only is this book AMAZING in its own right... but I think the book itself is the greatest example of "framing" I've ever seen!

"How to use forbidden mind-control psychology and ruthless military tactics to make millions online"... WOW!...

If you want a career in marketing or making money online, and THAT title doesnt make you fork out your wallet... then you're kidding yourself!!

Hang up your chances for ever making it in this industry!

For all of you eager seekers of this book... Order it! It's not only masterpiece in itself, but a phenominal example of constructing a profitable product/offer.

Mark truly owns "framing". I've not seen anyone better!

If you dont want to control the minds of your market... then dont buy THIS BOOK!

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and my copy is totally marked up as I got many more ideas and strategies for us to implement in our business & daily operations. Our Magazine, Millionaire Blueprints Magazine Millionaire Blueprints is privileged to be marketed by word of mouth and we never had it as a line item in our marketing plan. Duh! I am so glad that there is discussion here on putting a value to word of mouth and proactively making it a part of the business and marketing plan. I also love the discussion about being honest & transparent, customer service, and simply being a part of the conversation both online and offline. Great book and it will definitely be referred to often in our business by our entire team.

This is a book for common man as everyone of us face anger problems. It is laid out in simplistic fashion with the chapter paced carefully starting with the basic of recognizing angry behavior, taking responsibility and then working towards it management. It put forwards excellent point of inner critics, communication patterns and anger ratings. It gives good relaxation technique overview and coupled with the online program on angermanagementonline.com it is a good read. It talks about controlling and changing your thinking and emotions to a certain extent which is difficult but a possible approach. It is an eye opener to looking at different aspects of your personal feeling and emotions as well identifying them. I will recommend this book to anyone wanting to read and follow anger management in a simpler and easier way. Thank you very much Kathy

There are issues in my life that I am still learning about. I have several years that I cannot recall and I have been working with a therapist about things. Learning about yourself, making changes, does not happen over night. This course was to run a full two weeks. Before I took this course I looked around at others. I chose this course because there is someone behind the course, running things, pulling the strings behind the curtains that understands what anger management is about. There are others that did not share what I took away from this course, and yes, the road is long to those that want instant gratification, that need this certificate for court tomorrow. I chose this course because it had legitimate creditability from a licensed therapist. I feel fortunate that my anger has never gotten out of hand, that I have struck someone out of anger, and in most cases FEAR causes persons that kind of anger. However, I recognize that I am fortunate that I can take the time with a counselor, that I have INSURANCE that allows me to do this. There are so many people out there that don't have insurance, that can't afford insurance, cannot manage their anger, that one day something so simple is going to make them "snap" and out of anger they kill a child, punch someone, drive someone off the road. These things are what we tell ourselves cannot happen to us. And for some that is true. However, protecting yourself, understanding anger, can help in circumstances that can quickly become unreasonable to you and knowing what you learned here, if you truly paid attention to the course, can circumvent a terrible outcome. At the end of this session, I have to say that I still see a few people out there COUNTING SENTENCES, getting in their much needed 5! This is not the way to take an anger management course. The people that put this course together are using the fundamentals of sentences and paragraph structures: Who, What, Where, When and Why. Taking that into consideration, you may be told to do your work again. However, I bet, that if you managed to sum up what needs to come out in each session, that if you were able to convey that in under 5 sentences, I bet they may let it slide. Stop counting you sentences! Just write, it's what defines us as human beings! Use it! Don't think that the "cops are out to get me" that the judge "doesn't know what he's talking about" that "I don't have a problem and I shouldn't have to take this stupid course." Everyone needs help sometime in their life. No matter how small a part, like this course. Those police officers have better things to do than keep tabs on you. The judge is not out to get you, but in the course of his career, he has seen the same type of behavior that warrants the same responses, which may include taking anger management courses. He's not doing this to be mean to you, he's doing it because he/she has seen what can lead to unmanageable anger. The aftermath of rage is a god-awful sight. I can tell you honestly that I took this course in the two week time it was required. There were nights that I was tired after work that I did not want to write something. So I didn't, I waited until the next night to write something in this, to manage a journal. The people that put this course together might not directly care about you. Understand that they did, however, take the time to make this course available, that they made it easily understood and weren't asking for a great deal of effort. Honestly, if you can't manage your anger now, then you need serious medication and interventions. You can't build a house by buying a piece of property (your anger is your property) but someone can provide the tools (this course) and you can build that house effectively. It may not be a mansion, but it keeps the cold out and the love in. Over time, if you don't drink yourself to death, piss away all the knowledge available here, you can continue to grow from what's here. The simple tools are still available, the book in PDF format is still available (should be on your hard drive). Print it out if you want a hard copy. Your house can grow, you can make additions, something more to your liking, until you've grown old and people respect and love you for who you were instead of fearing you and wishing you were dead because the hurt you caused them and others.

However, the only problem I have with this review system is that it is presented in a way that makes one think they have to leave a review when they take the course. I am also an author, and I cannot twist someone's arm to write reviews for me.

A good overview of Internet Search and the companies involved
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-10-05
John Battelle subtitles his book, The Search, "How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture." This statement is quite ambitious and the book does not quite live up to it. It does, however, give a good overview of the role of Search, its effect on business and life, and how various companies, especially Google, were involved. The topic is of great importance to all of us, whether or not we avidly search the Internet. Thus it is an important book and for that reason I give it a high evaluation. The strong point of the book is that Battelle is both knowledgeable and well connected on this subject, thus he is able to get access to the key players involved with Search--Brin and Page at Google, Bezos at Amazon, Yang and Filo at Yahoo, etc. Battelle also tells some interesting stories about lesser known figures such as Bill Gross. It is these parts of the book that are most interesting and enlightening.

But the book also suffers from a number of flaws, some repairable, some not.
First of all, as Battelle notes, that doing a book on Search can be boring and the sections of the volume that are strictly about this topic are indeed not very interesting, especially for those of us who are not technically versed on computer and Internet language. One shortcoming of the book is that it could have benefited from a glossary. Battelle assumes that he readers are literate enough to understand what he means by such terms as "petabyte" and "exabyte" and uses language that is beyond the understanding of ordinary people. For example, on page 171 he quotes extensively from comments made by Tim Armstrong, VP of advertising at Google, regarding the future state of advertising that are large unintelligible to a non-technical person. His use of words such as "scale" also assumes that the reader understands the meaning of this word in technological jargon. Finally, there is the following example from page 268: "The gate opens and you drive one-quarter mile to a four-story slate gray building, which looks rather like a Nakamichi preamp, only with windows..." Well, of course, now I know what the building looks like!!

A problem that is not correctable is that the book is dated. Battelle completed it in early 2003 which makes it ancient history in the fast paced world of the Internet. Thus it is more of a history of Search rather than a description of its present condition. He does give some of his insights in the future potential of search and this parts are interesting and thought-provoking. Battlelle also spends too much time on Google. Admittedly this company is in the forefront of Internet Search, but it has been written about in detail. For example, The Google Story, by David Vise covers much of the same ground and, in my view, does a better job. Certainly it was necessary to cover the Alpha Dog in this field, but more about what others have done might have made the book more interesting.

In sum, The Search is well worth reading, but non-techies will have some trouble and techies may find it date

I loved this book and how it approached talking about search instead of just Google. It covers other big players in the field, goes over the entire industry, in addition to giving solid and good information about Google itself.

Also loved the author's style and his ability to keep things relatively succinct.

As a computer professional I thought I pretty much got Search chalked out. It was quite a revelation to see that this book reveals facets about search that I did not comprehend before.

Very exciting book and incidentally very good information about Google as a company as well.

It's a great overiview of the search industry and its brief but intense history.

However, it's also a good and refreshing reminder that success stories, such as Google's, are not envisioned or planned they way they later unfold. For example, the book explains how Google early on tried to sell their search engine to Yahoo! or one of the other portals, but no buyer was found! Google was in financial hardships and did not know how to make money (except with traditional banner ads) when Bill Gross came up with the pay-per-click model that Google simply copied.

This is a MUST read. I have read a lot of books on trading and this book is really the only one that had helped me. That is an understatement. This book had changed my trading life forever!! Read all the other reviews and let me add this. Read the book cover to cover twice. Go to his website and sign up for his newsletter. Get the 4 day seminar on dvd. Buy the 5 indicator package. And finally start making some money. Yes all of this is expensive. It is worth every cent.. I paid for all of this in one day of trading using the indicators and his techniques!! Trading for me now is no stress, no yelling at the screen. And finally I have stopped buying the guy on the other side of the trade dinner or worse. No, I am not affiliated with TTM, this stuff just works and I wanted to share the news.

New to day trading? Read this first and read it often. Plain english with plenty of examples to make clear sense of the trading methods described. I have purchased no less than six books on the subjects of trading, options, investing etc. in the past year, all of them left me with a feeling of not getting what I paid for. Some were just a long winded infomercials for some product or service. Not this book. Worth every penny.

I read this book as a favor to a greeny (the term I use for newbie traders) who wanted my opinion of it. While there are some decent trade observations in this book it is far from containing any original material. Most of the ideas and indicators have been lifted for other peoples ideas, which can be found free and easy with a little research. For example the type of gap play he decribes in this book (and gap theory for that matter) have been around for a min of 40 years and derives from old school pit traders. At least that's how I first learned of the strategy. Playing the gap is trading 101 when you first study classic charting techniques, or akin to the old axiom "always fade the first move". Please do not try these techniques unless you know what your doing, you will lose. Trying to put a rigid formulae on a gap play, like this book does, will put you in the poor house. Markets change constantly. Strategies must be adabted with those changing conditions. While I'm not sure I want to go as far as saying he's a huckster, I'm fully confident in saying he has taken other people ideas and passed off them off as his own. Perhaps a good businessman but unlikely a good trader. At least if Mr. Carter us practicing some of the ideas in his book.

I was excited to receive this book because it is written by a seasoned professional and as such carries a lot more credibility than one from someone who never actually managed money. I am a money manager and systems developer myself and have managed huge positions and had many hundreds of clients. The first few chapters of the book cover some basics particularly those relating to psychology and setting up to trade. All of it is good. The section on computers is as would be expected for a book published in 2006. Then the book gets into some areas of trading. Chapter 5 is excellent and covers various breadth and/or market internal measurements. I found this chapter to be worth the price of the book as I have always traded with breadth and it was very nice to catch some differt viewpoints and ideas. John Carter is not a systems trader and I am. I code everything and test it extensively. Mr. Carter is a discretionary trader and as I started to code his methods (Part two) I found them to not hold up very well to the scrutiny of computer analysis. The concepts are still of value though, so I still recommend it as excellent reading and a wide array of excellent trading ideas that could be built on. Many times it is the process in the thinking that is of more value that the content itself. So, if you are inclined to purchase the book to find instantly useable trading ideas, you might come up short. But, if you want something that might inspire some of your own brilliance, of course, you may just find a jewel or two. Section three of the book covers more on planning, psychology and the game of trading. This is an excellent book for any level of trader.

This $10 book has made me double my money in a couple months in OTCBB/Pinksheet stocks. This explains big board stocks but is everything the same as penny stocks. Buy this book if you want to start trading. The author gives instructions in spoken word not scientific as some books do. This is as if someone was talking to you not a college lecture you can't just jump into.

As with that, I've doubled my money and expect to be a millionaire from HARD work, remember that. My recommendation, it's a buy!

I don't have time to write a long review about a book, and I assume neither do you to read it. So I keep it simple and to the point:

I have read several books about day trading and this is one of the best by far. It explains in detail what to do and not to do when you attempt to trade stocks as a beginner. It will stop you from losing money and save you a lot of headaches. Make sure to read it twice!!
This book is an excellent guide to anyone new to this field, even if you don't know the technical terms. It is not boring either... I wish it had been longer..

I think this book in absolutely a must for anyone who is interested in finding out how to day trade, has the intellectual capacity to feel they can succeed, but has really no clue how the stock market works!! Everything you've always wanted to know about day trading 'but were afraid to ask'. Toni starts from square one and explains everything from bid price, offers, indexes and the history of the stock market. If you are beyond this level, then you will likely feel it is too basic, 'chatty' or 'inspirational' in the first half of her book. Personally, it has proven to be an invaluable resource. Toni's writing style is clear and she gives great analogies and speaks in layman's terms while dissecting and discussing the complexities of trading. It goes from big picture to hands-on detailed examples and strategies. Thanks Toni!

Very informative indeed, and I am more-than-ever convinced NOT to daytrade. I know, now, that I have too little education, the wrong software, not enough energy, and not the gambling spirit. I also learned a bunch of other good stuff that can help my longer-term investing.

Absolute beginners who know nothing about the Internet and/or business will probably find this book useful, though not necessarily more useful than many free online resources. Fox clearly doesn't know much about the technical aspects of the Internet, but nothing he says is so terribly wrong that it will make a difference. Likewise, the general business information is cursory, and adds nothing to free information available online from the SBA and other groups, but it's accurate as far as it goes.

Fox makes a few points that are quite sound: you don't have to know a lot about technology or business to get started selling stuff online; it's better to get started quickly and learn as you go than to develop a perfect business plan that never gets executed; and overspending at the beginning is a bigger danger than being undercapitalized.

It doesn't take an entire book to reveal these "secrets"; nor is Fox a particularly compelling writer. But not being horribly wrong is actually better than average for a "get rich on the Internet" book. I also appreciated that he didn't advocate spamming or deceptive SEO practices, though he could have done his readers (and, thereby, the rest of the world) a service by covering these issues in more detail. His discussion of copyright could also be both improved and expanded.

While I don't necessarily recommend this book, I don't know of a better one to recommend for an absolute beginner who thinks they might want to get rich online. For general background on starting a small business, I would recommend the classic Small Time Business Operator, 10th Edition: How to Start Your Own Business, Keep Your Books, Pay Your Taxes & Stay Out of Trouble (Small Time Operator).

Good Book!!

I'd never heard of Scott Fox before, but from what I read in the book, he's been quite successful at making money online. He's worked with some big names so it appears he knows what he's talking about.

The book spends most of the time covering the nuts and bolts of choosing a subject area (niche), determining its feasibility to make money, creating a web site and making the big bucks. He uses lots of case studies of people who are currently making money online, which is very useful.

I finished the book optimistic, but still a bit vague on the next action step. I'm in a bit of analysis paralysis, which he actually discusses briefly in the book. It's where you spend so much time planning and preparing to make money and learning to avoid all the pitfalls that you never take action. The book has given me some more ideas on how to make money, and I plan to refer back to it in the future as I take action.

If you're unfamiliar with how people make money online, it's a great book to help you learn. If you already know about the general methods of making money like drop shipping, selling on eBay, product development, affiliate marketing, digital information products (aka eBooks), then you probably won't find anything new.

A great crash course

Scott Fox covers everything in this how-to book on starting your own internet business. Parts 1 and 2 start with brainstorming business ideas and researching them to be sure they're viable and moves on to explain different business models and how these relate to the ideas you've just brainstormed.

In Part 3, Fox explains the technologies behind the website(s) you are about to build and makes recommendations for how to do it cost effectively. He shows you how to choose a domain name, build a website, and develop "content" (all of the written material on your site).

Part 4 is the best section in my opinion. It's all about marketing and driving business to your site whether you have no budget, a small budget, or a real budget. And what good is having a fabulous site if no one knows about it, right?

Part 5 covers legal stuff and, as expected, is a bit drier than the rest of the book. But it covers important ground and Fox does it in a straightforward and easy to understand way.

One other thing about the whole "millionaire" thing in the title that others have commented on: Fox's point is that even if you're not making millions in your new e-commerce business, you can still live like a millionaire. How? By living on your terms and working when and how you want. And maybe you only make $500k or even only $250k so you're not actually a millionaire. But you know what? The average person isn't making that working 40, 50, 60, or 70 hour weeks working for someone else.

I'd absolutely recommend this book to anyone who needs the kick in the butt necessary to start their own thing. Fox's style is simple and easy to understand, but at the same time encouraging and motivating as hell.

"I discovered Tracy Repchuk by sheer luck on Amazon.com. Her "31 Days to Millionaire Marketing Miracles" caught my eye. I ordered the book and devoured it. I've owned my own business for 11 years and have read countless business books (and have an MBA!). Tracy's book was the very first book I've read that gave me a clear, concrete path to follow to build my on-line business. She really does spell out each step - how to do it, why do it, and what to do next. I don't know how many times I've read a book full of theories, only to finish it, close it and think "...well what do I need to do now?" By the time I finished Tracy's book I knew exactly what to do next, and I have done what she said. Check out my site and you'll see!"

Excellent Book I Wish I'd Read Years Ago

I've studied Internet Marketing for 3 years and bought and read a lot of manuals and ebooks and spent way more than I would like to add up. This book is clear, well organised and easy to read and is the book to give a beginner marketer as well as Intermediate Marketers. And if I'd started with this I could have cut a year off my learning curve!

Because it is focussed on the essentials.

Yes the book approaches 300 pages but you are taken there step by step in such an easy straight forward way that you don't really notice the pages turning.

Many marketers will get your attention by making huge claims or trying to send you off in complicated and unnecessary diversions - that is, they tell you to do things that won't make you money. Repchuk takes you in the direction that any good teacher would.

The book like quite a few others, is organised into "Days". Don't assume you can do everything in the book in one month because it may take you a while to cover some of these "Days", while others you can get through in less than one hour.

My basic judgment on the book is that it is a reliable guide to a complicated field where it is difficult to know who to trust and which advice to take. I don't agree with all the advice in the book but it is certainly one of the very best guides around in the field.

The book is a nice introduction to the physiological systems in the human body, and gives a detailed description for a lot of physiological conditions pertaining to the different systems. It is very informative, and precise.

If you need a thorough or even basic understanding of physiology, this book is great. It is extremely well written and 99% of it makes sense on the first read-through. My professor keeps saying how great this book, and i completely agree with her.

This book is simply amazing and the classic text on physiology. There were so many times in medical school and even now in residency when I was totally confused and clueless about some topic....when I used this book to read up on it, all the facts became crystal clear and easy to understand. Bottom line: GREAT book, highly recommend for med school and beyond!!!!

R.I.P. Guyton, the best medical scientific writer that the world has ever known. This book is his masterpiece. Believe me, I have read it, this represents the best medicine textbook. Clear, thorough and simple writing. Every single detail of human physiology is explained.
The magic of this great book is that the author mentions several times the details needed to understand a physiological process.
This great man, doctor and scientist had poliomyelitis and couldn't walk, but he instead wrote a masterpiece that will not be forgotten.

Buy it, read it, and then the magic of medicine will capture you.

I got this in the post the other day. Very thorough, great reference text. Not at all readable. Nice to have nearby as a reference but not a good text if you're attempting to synthesize material for the first time.
