Outstanding Textbook - Use with the Clinical Review of Surgery

This is an outstanding surgery review text. When used in conjunction with a solid review textbook that breaks these topics down, your reading is highly focused and relevant with increased retention. I use the Clinical Review of Surgery and the two work well as a combination. FYI, very FAST shipping with Amazon - got the book the next day!

I've used all the other major textbooks for Surgery (Schwartz, Greenfield) and Sabiston is by far my favorite. It has the best mix of basic science and clinical info of the three. I highly recommend it.

Discovery Channel, move over. Keep this book at your computer terminal. Now you can indulge in (a lot) of learning, or just quenching your curiosity!

Not just for grown-ups--there's a whole chapter (pp313-334) titled "KIDSTUFF", with pointers to such sites as "Helping Your Child Learn Science", "Children's Butterfly Site", "Science Made Simple" and "Planet Pals". With the decline of our schools, perhaps kids using the Net to carve out their own learning journey will be a big part of the solution.

Oh, there's a whole chapter on Mathematics! Good for those among us who were unlucky enough not to have good math teachers at school (which is most of us, I guess. Good maths teachers are a rarity.) The sites covered here might very well spark passion in our younger folk who have this subject spoon fed to them in it's most tasteless form. I mention this because I, myself, struggled with Maths at high school. That struggle ended when I took charge of my own Maths training. I chose my own books & materials and methods of learning. And saw my Maths marks skyrocket.

Need I say more? Get this book. For yourself. For your kids. For your country which is already in painful need for the scientifically astute.

The Internet has become an ever-growing depository of information on every imaginable topic. Businesses, researchers, reporters, investigators, students, authors, shoppers, and Internet enthusiasts of all kinds make use of this information resource on a daily basis. Do they make the best use of it? Online researching is a discipline and there is a definite art and science for doing it right!

Loraine Page and Reva Basch have produced an outstanding collection of online researching experiences. Super Searcher, Author, Scribe features the experiences and advice of fourteen professional writers - a variety of authors, researchers, and Internet devotees who have proven track records. They offer quite different but equally successful approaches to using the Internet to gather information.

In a convenient question and answer format these writers discuss topics such as what their favorite search engines are - and why, what their favorite online information sources are, sorting through online information, how the Internet has helped their professional writing careers, the use of personal Websites, what kind of computer hardware and software they use, what kinds of online connectivity they have, and other general information. Additionally, they provide their own "super searcher power tips" for readers to pay particularly close attention to. An appendix lists cited Website URL's and other resources.

Readers will find this book insightful. The varying research experiences and methods shared will greatly contribute to their own online researching endeavors. Readers will glean from the contents of the book and develop their own individual strategies, determining what specific approaches will work best for them, resulting in more efficient use of their own research time, effort, and resources. This book is excellent reading for small businesses, teachers, students, researchers, and of course - writers!

This book is *not* unavailable -- it was published in a new edition. ISBN 1-59092-012-X, "Pokemon! The Best Websites." This is a great book because the number of quality of Pokemon sites are few and the guide gives you the best of them. Also, there's a built in deal where if a site is down you can contact the publisher and they'll fix the issue. (I should know -- I *am* the publisher!) :)

The Essential Book for Successful Recruiting

This is a key piece of recruiting strategy for corporate and agency recruiters alike. I typically don't like paper-based resources anymore and used to go to google to find sites.

I have now learned that this book can make the difference between using the web successfully to fill your positions or spending a lot of time and money on web resources with poor results. Reach for this book first for help in making good decisions and your client satisfaction rate will soar.

No more guessing about the kinds of resumes and visitors on a site. I have found sites that are perfect for my search that I would never have found otherwise.

Free updates are available on the website weddles.com in addition to several other useful resources. I highly recommend this essential resource and encourage you to visit the web site as well.

As a career recruiter ( 5 Corporate and 13 Search Firm) I consider this the top resource that you can have at your fingertips. It gives you the information that you need to make an informed choice on where to search post an opening.

Recently, when I ordered the new edition, I called the office with a question and found myself speaking to Mr Weddle himself. He is involved in all aspects of this book.

Don't miss out on his on-line newsletter which keeps the book up to date at all times.

No matter if you are a rookie or a seasoned professional- you need this resource to bring you to the next level of succes in the industry.

I was very impressed with this book. It lists 300 great web sites for pet lovers separating them into very helpful categories. From dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas to rats and gerbils. The dog section is big, listing great sites from dog breeds to vet info to card making. It has got a pretty big cat section too. My thoughts are, if you can think of a pet subject, this book probably has it listed. If you love surfing out pet sites, you will love this book. It is a great reference book to have on your shelf. It comes in handy when you have a quick thing you want to look up regarding pets but are not sure where to start looking.

This version of the Dewey Decimal Classification fits on your desk and in your budget. Abridged Edition 13 offers the up-to-date features of DDC 21 at a price small libraries can afford. Here's what you get in a single volume: * Major revisions of 350-354 public administration, 370 Education, 570 Life Sciences, 580 Plants, and 590 Animals * New table numbers for countries of the former Soviet Union * Updated terminology and new topics including virtual reality, Internet, rap music and in-line skating * Over 40 pages of additional index terms * Numbering compatible with DDC 21, so libraries can expand easily from the abridged to the full edition.

This book is a must-have for the counselor or the counseling graduate student. Each section of the Code of Ethics is set forth with two applicable examples. One example is the "do" and one example is the "don't." These examples clarify the Code and make it much more understandable.
