We read this to our son and it was one of his favorites - he always had to act out the title!. We got a copy of this classic for him so he can read it to our grandson, Andrew. Grampa will be sure to encourage little Drew to Hop on his Pop!

My son just turned one and this is the first book that he really listens to when I read. Before this, the only books I could get him to pay attention to were books with photos of faces, food, animals, etc. I would look through one of these types of books before nap and bed to get him to sit with me and share focus. A few weeks ago I decided to bring in some Seuss and he loves it. He starts laughing as soon as he sees the cover and jabbers with me when I start reading. It has him talking a lot more and trying to imitate the rhythm and rhyme. The first few times I read it to him I was laughing out loud as well because the little pictures and storiettes are so silly. It's great because I used to try to read him an actual story and he would get impatient. This is just the right length for a busy one-year-old.

I am cool selling used stuff, but this book was TRASHED! it arrived covered in banana stickers and with ink scribbles all over the pages. When I sent the seller a note, they ignored it. Same with second try. So I dropped it. It was only a few bucks, but ..... principle!
In hind sight, I should have refused the credit card bill.

I won't order these books, because the cover price is $7.99 U.S. and Amazon is asking $8.99. Look at the preview and check out the back cover and see for yourself!! They might have free shipping, but they're charging a dollar more than cover price. The books are great, but what's Amazon's problem? This makes absolutely no sense to me. I generally have nothing but good things to say about Amazon.com, but this is just ridiculous.

When I first stumbled upon this product I thought it was a board book of the original Corduroy story. On the website when I found the original (which is what I wanted) it had a link saying they also had this in board book form. So that's what I thought I was getting. I wanted board book for my 4-month-old son because they are more durable. But it's actually a book based on the character of Corduroy. Its' a boring story listing things Corduroy did that day. It jumps from one thing to the other and isn't really a story at all but rather a list of random errands. I was disappointed to say the least.
A home is not complete without Corduroy!

This book is simply one of the sweetest books available. I carried the memory of this book with me all while growing it has a lovely lesson of kindness with the reminder to not overlook things just cause their imperfect. So when I finally became a mother and set out on my quest to find the best books available for toddlers I revisited "Corduroy" and just seeing my daughters face as she snuggled up to her own teddy bear captivated, I simply fell in love all over again with the story. Don't pass this book by!

My bestfriend is having a baby in April and for her baby shower, instead of giving cards, we were all instructed to buy a book to start "Baby's" library. We were told to write a message to "Baby" in the book. I thought this was a really cute idea and had never heard of anyone doing it before! I picked this book because I remember it being one of my favorite books when I was growing up. I also got "Goodnight Moon" because it was my friend's favorite book. I figured this way "Baby" can have both of our favorite books to help get his/hers library started and it would be a neat little connection for us!

True to form, Silva delivers a very good super-spy story. The background is good and current. Unfortunately, the story line now reads too much like the past story lines. If you haven't read all of the Gabriel Allon stories, then you will love this one. If you have, then you will still want to read it, but it does follow the tried and true formula for Silva's Allon series.
This story takes place in some new surroundings in Europe and it brings out some very scary current events that will show Daniel Silva's subject knowledge. I would even say that a movie will be made of this one. It reads very quickly because there is more action and less focus on the sting's set up. So if you are interested in the detailed study and crafting of the operation, this book does not measure up to the others in that area.
The writing is crisp and the dialogue is well done. I don't have anything negative to say except that we've seen it before with different plot-lines.

"And so here we are again, two nice jewish boys sitting on a European street corner at three o'clock in the morning. My G-d, when will it end?"
"It's never going to end, Eli. This is forever."
So it seems to the fictional Gabriel Allon who has been through it all as an Israeli assasin always hot on the heels of the latest terror plot. Hijackings, suicide bombing attempts, hostage rescues.... He's seen them all. His first counterterrorism feat was against the Black September gang involved in the 1972 Munich massacre. He even saved the Italian pope's life at one time! And he has had many success stories ever since, but not without having to endure some sort of physical or mental trauma himself in the process.
This story has its roots in Egypt and the U.K. and the Netherlands. It begins when an Israeli operative is killed. The tracks lead to a terror plot in Great Britain whose target is the U.S. embassy's multimillionaire ambassador. Enter the U.S., the Brits, and of course, Allon, into the fray.
I admit, Israeli spy stories, both fiction and fact, are my favorite subjects. Espionage adventure, my favorite genre. Daniel Silva is a master in the fictional department. His books are suspenseful, hard to put down.
This story highlights Egypt's brewing militant Islamic elements, its causes and Great Britain's burgeoning militant Islamist population. Their security forces seem to have their hands full....
Surveillance is great with so much trouble brewing.

Superb...excellent..Electrifying and the scarest book I have ever read. Mr. Silva has become the standard on which suspense novels will be judged. Not since Robert Ludlums, Bourne Identity has an author captured my mind and heart. This novel needs to be read by every adult in USA and Europe.........what are we doing? 6 stars ******

What's not to like about Daniel Silva? His main character, Gabriel Allon, is a character that readers really like. He's a guy who struggles with his role, his place in life, his past, and his future. But he's a professional. He's not one-dimensional - he has a personal life, and opinions of his own.
The Secret Servant continues his story. A fast-paced run through London, this all too real story of terrorist cells in western Europe will keep you turning pages late into the night. The book is (as usual) well researched, leading to a high level of realism.
If you haven't tried Daniel Silva, but you're a fan of intelligent thrillers, this is a joyride with the top down.
Highly Recommended.

My mom got me this book when i was only a few months old. It is a great book. Since i am older i don't read it as much but i didn't forget about it yet! It has a baby bird who falls out of its nest and goes out looking for its mother and it asks so many animals and it finally finds her.The illustrations are great. I would recommend it to any beginner.

Not a good book for kids. The poor little guy is lost, alone, and frightened as he searches everywhere for his mother. Should be a horror story, not a bedtime story. What kid wants to go to bed with thoughts of being separated from his loved ones and the possibility of never seeing his mother again? I wouldn't recommend buying this book.

It was worth it at the workshop price, but this is $7 cheaper. It was so cheap I got a copy for my friend, and he wouldn't allow me to do that at the workshop. I'm hoping he will enjoy it as much as I have.

The five star reviews say it all and more. Healing disease is a biggie but even better is not getting diseases because of relationship with God through the keeping of His Word as the author demonstrates. I'll try to not be redundant. Its an excellent introduction for taking the For My Life Program they offer and goes hand and hand with a CD they put out entitled "Separation" which is the heart and soul of the books message. Separation causes disease. Connection is appropriating the gift of salvation in Christ then walking in the Light of Jesus, being available to The Father, so He can touch the world and peoples with the Holy Spirit working through you, unpretentiously, matter of factly, simply as a member of Christ's Body, the Church. Its from this perspective that one is empowered to 'work out your own salvation with fear and trembling for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Phil 2:12-13). As Paul wrote in Romans 6 & 7 and Jesus said in Mark 7:15-23, and Moses taught in Deuteronomy 28, we have the promise of God that if we keep His word we have life and blessings and if not, we place ourselves under a curse of the law with diseases by our own free will. Pastor Henry is an excellent teacher. You'll learn the spirit/soul(psyche)/body connection and how God speaks and evil speaks spirit to spirit to mans spirit as Paul elucidates and as science can now measure by brain theta waves. You'll learn that adhering to those negative thoughts like fear can control you, or self hatred, rejection, evy, unforgiveness, etc will slowly destroy your body and take your life. You'll learn how the hypothalmus acts on the thoughts you make idols of and embodies them in your flesh as disease. A major you'll learn is forgiveness because you'll understand what Jesus meant when He said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". You'll learn that it was the enemy of creation and genius that put the thoughts into the minds of those it used to kill Him and not the Jews or the Romans. It'll bring you to the heart and soul of what it means to be a Christian with the command of the Eternal Word Incarnate, "Love one another as I have loved you". It'll make you rethink your faith tradition so as to get more from it because the message of this excellent book is transdenominational. It has the potential to be thoroughly life changing for you, and yes, healing. Michael J. Driscoll, Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counselor, St. Stephen, N.B. Canada

This book has been a God send for me. I was struggling in so many areas of my life and this was like a breath of fresh air. This is a wonderful guide to learn how to live in health physically, spiritually and emotionally. Everything Henry Wright says is based on the Word of God which is of utmost importance. Thank you so much for sharing what God has shown you. It has really changed my life. I knew that there is a more excellent way, but I wasn't hearing about it. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I heard Henry Wright at a conference near my home and he knows what he is talking about. The book is worth every cent.

The Body of Christ has so needed this book for a long time, but as always God's revelation is on time too. God requires holiness and purity in His people, He requires us to come before Him with clean hands and a pure heart, and only He knows the depths of our hearts and what lies there. This is not a book to bring condemnation, but to set the people of God free from bondage and sickness so we can be effective carriers of God's glory and healing power. Having shared it with others in the body outside of my own church already, there is much knowledge and understanding there that has not been widespread in the body. Without true repentance and circumcision of the heart God cannot compromise His character and His Word and overlook our sin, just to heal us. This book requires us to read it with a heart and mind open to the Holy Spirit, allowing the Word to search us and allow God to change us.

Since Naked in Death, I am an avid J D Robb fan. However, the torture murders in Creation in Death pushed the limit of my reading sensibilities. Book of the Dead by Patricia Cornwell gave me the same feeling ... we are trying too hard to horrify our readers! Unlike Book of the Dead and similar torture scenes, Creation in Death has merit based on the characters. Eve is still the undefeatable NYC murder cop and Roarke is still her devoted rich husband who rolls up his sleeves way beyond the elbows to help bring this serial killer to justice. All the other players in the "In Death" series have tossed aside their personal lives and joined in the effort to keep one more woman from suffering a horrific death. But the horror is still there ... throughout the book ... in graphic detail ... it's not pretty.
I hope authors will soon eschew advice encouraging them to shock their readers beyond the point of enjoyment. As a reading audience, how calloused can we become?

This is the first and last novel I will ever read by Nora Roberts. It is possible she may be a decent romance novelist, but since I dont read that stuff, I will never know. But as a crime/suspense novelist, there are hundreds and hundreds better. The most interesting character in this novel, the serial murderer himself, was given a grand total of maybe 4 or 5 pages until the end. So much of the first 2/3 of this book concerned characters perusing e files that it became laborious to read. I realize its time consuming grunt work to actually solve a crime, but a little more attention should have been given to the actual crime to at least make the first 2/3 of the book more interesting to read.
And Nora Robert's attempts to make Eve witty are embarrassing. (Since I dont have the book in front of me, forgive me if the following quote is not perfectly word for word). One scene involves Eve passing some male cops near the elevator after she was bitten by a petty thief she had chased and apprehended. A male cop joked "Hey Dallas (Eve), I hear you got bitten by a perp and now he has rabies" to which Eve replies "I hear you spent time with an LC (a call girl) and now she's got a case of the clap." Uhhh huh huh...Uhhh huh huh (Beavis and Butthead laughter). Nora must have been reading the bathroom stalls in Metro stations to come up with that knee slapper. I hate to break it to you Nora, Ive known many police officers in my life, and they are FAR more clever than that.
Almost as bad are the scenes where Eve becomes "upset" with Roarke. The reasons are so contrived and the dialogue gets so fake and the disagreements are resolved so quickly, it makes me want to throw the book across the room. Its clear Nora has no clue what an actual argument in a healthy marriage is like. And Roarke is simply too fawning and too patient and too understanding and too adoring and so strong when he has to be and soooo romantic (and on and on and on and on) to be believable. His character more than any other reminds us that the author writing this book is actually a trash romance novelist. I dont know anyone in real life like him and I dont believe anybody does.
When I finally reached the climax of the book, without spoiling the ending, it seemed to end too quickly. Eve was in danger, but got out very quickly and conveniently. Again...way too contrived to be believable.
Im giving this book 2 stars because at least I finished it. The serial killer was somewhat interesting, and Nora should have let us peer a little more into his twisted world earlier in the book. Thats why people read crime novels. But I certainly didnt like the book enough to ever pick up another Roberts novel. I should have seen the signs before I read it. Cranking out 120+ novels in a career, when the career is far from over? Quality is bound to suffer.

Warning: this thriller is about a torture murderer who stalks women. It does not make for comfortable reading, but it does what a thriller is supposed to do: keep you up late at night turning pages.
This novel is the adult equivalent of a scary theme park ride: it takes you to the edge of the abyss and gives you a good long look down, but it does not drop you. It's slick and sexy and J. D. Robb is a reliable commercial trademark that promises and delivers a good "read" as opposed to literature.
I'm not going to summarize the plot because it has more bends than a corkscrew. The villain is a plausible conman with a slick system for luring his victims to their doom. All victims are female and women who have had personal experience with a stalker might want to avoid this one entirely, or read it with your therapist.

I have taken pictures and bought souvenirs for three different grandchildren. Two of the Flat Stanleys went to China, and one visited Dawsonville, Georgia. Flat Stanley is more than a book, it's a lifestyle! One of my Chinese friends wanted to do a Flat Stanley unit for MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS! Every child should have a Flat Stanley experience.

My son was reading well, but Junie B, Horrible Harry etc didn't capture his imagination and have him clamoring for more -- but this one, just totally captured his imagination and got to the top of his Christmas wishlist. In fact they got read before all of his toys got opened.
I think, those series(at least the few we did read) have such mundane classroom settings, but flattening Stanley set him free on such fabulous adventures, and the framework of setting it in a normal family with a brother who fights with him and is jealous of him, just totally engaged him. All of the books in the series are really cute.
The boxed set is a great value and includes this 40th anniversary edition which has a cute little flat stanley that you can cut out and mail away on his adventure

My son had to have this book. Just from looking at the cover one time! And once we had it in the house, it has become the forever read book. It's illustrations by Helen Oxenbury are amazing and the story will delight children of all ages. It's not scary but it does make you think a bit. I highly recommend this book!

The three little wolves
And the
Big bad pig
by Eugene Trivizas and Helen Oxenbury
Once a momma wolf told her young it was time to live somewhere else but together. Soon they built their house of bricks; soon the big bad pig showed up he smashed the house with a sludge hammer luckily they all got away. They built two more houses one. The three little wolves built one more house hoping to not let it go to waist and it didn't. When the pig come to the next house of flowers he turned to a good guy because the flowers were nice and refreshing
The theme of this book is responsibility because the three little pigs need to look after each other and that is responsibility. The message of this book is to use your time wisely because the first three houses were not thought out and didn't have much time used on it. The genre of this book is fantasy fiction or fairy tale because animals can't talk. I reccomend this book to people who don't take their time because it could wreck or get messed up.
I liked this book because it has well detailed illustrations. They make the book seem real. I also liked the unpredictable and dangerous weapons. I loved the way the author switched the characters around by making the pig bad and the wolves good. I also liked the way there were many different event like how the pig turns good when the pigs build a house of flowers. I liked how the wolves made so many creative houses epically the one made of concrete.

I bought this book as a gift for the younger daughter of a friend. Since I had ordered Harry Potter for her sister, I wanted her to have something too. It turned out to be one terrific gift in many ways. As a parent and teacher, I would never give a book to a child without checking it first for suitability. I found the story delightful -- warmhearted and humorous. "And the moral of the story is . . . " even better than the original.
The best part for me was that the wolves, those so unfairly maligned family animals, are the Good Guys.
And oh yes, she loved it.

The three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig
By Eugene Trivizas
Once three little wolves got some bricks and made a house. But then the big bad pig came along and used a siedgehammer to make the house fall down.So the wolves asked a beaver with concrete for some and made a house.Next the pig came to the house and made it fall down. Then the rinno gave the wolves strong stuff to make a house with.Finlly the pig came and te house fell down and the wolves got some flowersand made a house and the pig came smelled the flowers and was good.
The theme of this book is stick together because the wolves don't go on different trails. The message is don't leave your family behind because the wolves don't leave each other behind. The gerne is fantasy fiction because wolves can not talk.I reccommed this book to my mom because she wants to make a strong house.
I like this book because the charactors different then the other three little pig books.I think the pig and the wolves were dran well because they were detaled.I like how the wolves were determaned to make a strong house.I liked the unacspeced events when the pig made the house fall down.

The story itself is great-- I like sharing its meaning with the little "I can't do it" children who are in my life. Children seem to like the pictures in this book. However, the quality of the binding is not as great as I hoped it would be-- it's already starting to pull apart after just several readings.

Love it. My kids love it. We first saw this book in a larger version at our pediatrician's office and we read it while waiting to be seen. My daughter loved it so much that I looked it up as soon as we returned home. The story is so well known, I won't even bother to rehash it. Even though I think I can... (A little humor there)
As usual, the visual component is very important as far as I'm concerned and the vintage art is fabulous. It reminds me of things I saw while cleaning up my grandparents' house. Left behind story books and toys from my mother and her sister. Very nostalgic.
This particular version of the book is quite small which I like, but my daughter wants a larger version. I believe it is available in a lager size here at Amazon.

I think the full-size one will be better for storytelling. Shipping was so fast we got this book in no time!

There are many versions of this story and I had read several to my 23 month old son when I decided to have his 2nd birthday theme be trains. I wanted something other than Thomas and remembered this beautiful story about the kindness, persistence and rewarded effort of a little blue engine. My son, like most, loves trains and now asks for the "Little Blue Engine Think I Can" story almost every night. If you appreciate original illustrations and timely references to toys gone by, you'll love this book. Surprise - the trains are female - no big deal just different from the norm. Also, the original version is much longer than others, (no so good for 2 yrs.) so I skip over or shorten some of the sentences and will read more details as he gets older. It's a great classic.

I have always loved Jennifer Crusie novels and have to admit I was suspicous of a collaberation. But I will happily admit to being thrilled with both of her novels with Bob Mayer. The characters are bright and funny and sarcastic and a little nuts just like all my friends. This book is a fast paced frolic in the south that re-visits a character from the frist book they did together. (who could forget the one-eyed alligator Moot). Highly recommended.

Cranky Agnes wasn't the only cranky one in the room by the time I finished this book. I found this book a big disappointment. I am a big fan of Jennifer Crusie and although "Agnes and the Hitman" managed to hit some high marks, it was not her best by any means. The highs: As always a wonderful dog in the plot. A heroine who is smart, sexy, determined. An alpha male who is more than her match. Lots of combustion between the two. Some great chracters, like Garth. The lows: This book has way too much plot and way too much violence. I gave up trying to keep track of who was doing what to whom and why. If you want to read Crusie at her best, try "The Cinderella Deal" or "Crazy For You."
