Having been an Accessibility tester for 2.5 years now, I recommend this book to anyone working with or considering Accessibility support.(...)

I know that Mr. Mueller writes great books--from reading other books he's written. You can rely on his depth of research, and the clarity of this writing. If you're interested in Accessibility, you'll find it thoroughly covered here.

I thought the price of $... was a little steep, but it turns out to be the best insurance policy I ever purchased. Last week I was in hot water with my boss when we couldn't figure out what was going on with the visibility/searchability of some key objects in the directory. I turned to this book and found an answer in about 5 minutes (after spending almost 4 hours battling with microsoft premier support to no avail...)

I would reccomend this highly to anyone who works closely with AD - development, architecture, or operations. It is the only book of its kind, and believe me... when you really NEED to know, you will be glad you have it.

This is great book containing a lot of very useful detail information about Active Directory, which is otherwise rather hard to find. The examples are real-world type of examples - the authors don't simply repeat other tech-information, but put it into context allowing the reader to really use the features of AD for their environment. I found, that the book is also very up to date containing a lot of good information about the changes of AD and the respective tools in Windows Server 2003. This is not a beginners book - I'd suggest it for the experienced, who wants to dig down even deeper.

Nile's book was one of the most concise, accurate and informative books I found in those 13 years. Many times I needed the background of the maternity homem or orphanage. This was an almost imposible task. Adoption Agencies provide a wealth of information about themselves, but little about the maternity home the birthmothers stayed in.

It is imperitative to an adopttee to know something about the surroundings of their mother during her regnancy. This is the only time the two shared, and it is the only link they have when they start to question their heritage. Understanding how a maternity home was run gives them insight to the mindframe of their mother.

This reference book is divided into four sections. Section one gives tips and advice on how to market your literary work, covering such topics as query letters, proposals, electronic aubmissions, making it past the first cut, and an example of a standard manuscript format.

Section two lists hundreds of periodicals with complete contact information. It has a detailed description of the periodical and offers detailed advice from the editor/publisher describing in detail what is expected from authors who wish to have their work published in their periodical (query letters, topics, length, SASE's, format, as well as technical information such as type, font, spacing, etc.) Payment for approved works is also discussed. Some publishers pay by the word; others offer a flat fee.

Section three has a list of book publishers which essentially has the same information as section two: a general description and background of the publisher, contact information, types of works they are accepting (poetry, non-fiction, fiction, biographical, etc.), technical specifications, etc.

Section four is called the "Topic Index" and is especially helpful if you already have a literary work to submit. For instance, if you write poetry, simply go to "Topic Index" and look up "Poetry" and you will see a list of periodicals and book publishers who publish poetry.

I highly recommend this book for any author who needs a reference book containing a list of periodicals and publishers which they can submit their literary works to.

As a writer and writing teacher, I highly recommend this book by John Mutchler. It's well organized, information dense and helpful. If you're serious about seeing your name in print, you need to get the book and use it.

One of the first things I learned as a salesman was that you couldn't sell something to people if that wasn't what they wanted to buy. If you're trying to sell beef to vegetarians you had best not be to dependent on commissions for income. Yet in the publishing business fledgling authors think nothing of sending a mystery book to a magazine publisher that only publishes articles on car repair and who isn't interested in new authors at this time.

In the sales business it's called qualifying your prospects. Does this guy buy what I'm selling? Does he need more than he's able to get at the moment? For the freelance writer here is just about all the qualification you need. For some 1,600 publishers here's what they are looking for, what they pay, and often the opening sentence will tell you what you really want to know. For instance, one publisher opens his entry with: 'Please note we do not publish novels, poems, children's books, or short stories. We publish ____.' This alone can save you a lot of time, a lot of postage.

The information in the entries is directly from the publisher. It usually includes his web address so you can see what he is publishing now - and it's likely that this is what he's going to publish in the future.

Here is a tremendous amount of useful information at a very low price.

The American Directory of Writer's Guidelines is an excellent companion to Writer's Market and an essential reference book for freelance writers. Some of the included publications do cross-over, but for the most part, their different. And, it's great that a new edition has been released (2006).

The nice thing about The American Directory of Writer's Guidelines is that it provides both contact information and writer's guidelines for the listed publications.

Another thing I like about this reference book is the organization. It has publications organized alphabetically and then has the lists of categories in the back. It's much easier to find publications.

The downside of The American Directory of Writer's Guidelines is that it isn't updated annually. This makes using it a little more difficult because you have to do a cross reference to see if publications still exist, if the contacts still work there, and to make sure the pub hasn't moved. Of course, every query sent should be verified in this way before you send it, so you should be doing these things anyway.

Ideal for surgical and radiology registrars, for the Part I and beyond. Mine is much loved.

Rl J. Last's Regional and Applied Anatomy is one of the best books available for the original study or review of human Anatomy. It is clear and authoratative. After years of medical practice an occasional re-read of certain parts brings clarity of understanding that no other reference provides. I'd have a copy of this one.
