This is surprisingly a great book. It is a shame that it is out of print. Tasha Tudor is of course the queen of all gardeners, but Ms. Guest's book is quite good and she does have some marvelous tips and hints on gardening from her massively wealthy Tempelton estate, in Old Westbury, Long Island. And on top of this, she has good taste and style which we can all learn from. To bad that her publishers didn't do a good job in promoting her, but perhaps there is another book in the works and she will reach the stardom that she rightfully deserves in the gardening world. As Ms. Guest constantly reminds us, Plan Plan and Plan ahead for a successful garden. Take this book out of the library, if you can't buy it. You will greatly enjoy it.

I am an associate professor in Istanbul Tech. Uni. Dept of Architecture. Nowadays, I am working for a researh in CMU-PA. I am working and teaching on CAD topics in architecture design. One of my lecture was 'introduction to computer and information systems', and I'll begin a new course fall semester that name is 'computer modelling in architectural design'in my own faculty.I saw it in a bookseller. So, i think this book will be essential reference for me and my graduate students, if i get one. I suggest all my collegues. However, it is not cheap for a Eastern European instructure like me. I wish i could buy it before moving US.

A medium sized company might spend a million dollars a year just in salaries for the people who run their CAD systems. The CAD Rating Guide, a compendium of information on all the major CAD systems, can help managers understand what's out there. A single bit of information found in this book might save a company thousands of dollars.

Now in it's fifth edition, the CAD Rating Guide is a must have for CAD managers, and those entrusted with their company's CAD plans.

I really liked this book. It had entertaining illustrations that we can all relate to, even those who have only been caring for their loved ones for a short time! The tips were very helpful to me when caring for my Grandmother. I read the entire book, then used the tips as a searchable guide for information in the areas I needed help in at the time. I would recommend the book to anyone who is caring for a loved one or who will be caring for a loved one in the near future. The chapters are named with songs and the illustrations help to make light of real issues, which keeps the book positive. I believe the author and illustrator both went out of the way to show creativity and fun which makes it easier to read and helps to encourage you in your caregiving endeavor. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is or will be caring for their loved ones. Five stars to the author and illustrator. I got so much good from reading this book that I read her other books, "Caregiving Tips A-Z, Alzheimer's and Other Dementias", The Caring Caregivers Guide to Dealing with Guilt", and "Hospice Care at Home".

Awesome information!

This is not just a how-to guide for caregiving in our homes, this book is Starr Calo-oy's personal testimony. And because she's "been there," I can trust her insight and recommendations. She offers practical advice and care instructions with uncommon sensitivity, meeting not only the physical needs of the person in our care, but their social and spiritual needs as well. This is not a cryptic medical encyclopedia, but an easy-to-read (large print), practical guide anyone can understand and benefit from. I just wish I'd had access to such invaluable and refreshing information when I cared for MY parents.

I bought this book today at my church's bookstore and it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a book that could help me in teaching my two small kids that Christmas is not about gifts but it is about Christ. This books gives you lots of ideas on how to celebrate a Christ-centered Christmas and it gives ideas of many things that you might want to add as new traditions in your home. For example, Having a birthday party for Jesus, complete with cake and all. I know my kids will love that! Also reading the Christmas story on Christmas Day. That will definately teach my kids that Christmas is not about getting lots of gift, but it is about Christ. Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

This book gives you lots of ideas on things your family can do during the holiday season that focus on Christ's birth. It is an excellent reference book for ideas on starting new traditions in your family for the Christmas celebration. The book is arranged so that each chapter begins with a letter of the alphabet. For example: A-Advent, A time for preparing; B-Birthday for Jesus; C-Customized candy canes; D-Dinner conversation. Each chapter gives you ideas of things that you can do with that particular focus. This book doesn't just give you some vague ideas; it actually gives ideas and examples of what to do.

good book about Chimney swifts, their habitat loss and constructing "Chimneys" for them to raise young in. The book describes the construction of these small towers using modern methods and materials. I think this book will be the definitive Chimney Swift work of our time. Buy it and build a tower. You and these gregarious little flying insect eaters will be better for it. Watching Chimney swifts reminds me greatly of watching a Quiditch match as described in the Harry Potter books.

The book to have to make a chimney swift tower!!

Kyle and Georgean have put together "the book" on how to build a chimney swift tower. What I especially love about this book is that they provide a numb er of different designs - three different types of wooden towers as well as different types of masonry/cement block towers - so you have options. There are pictures - photographs and drawings throughout to help with the building and the materials/instructions are very clear. I haven't convinced my husband to build one (yet)and we already have swifts in our chimney but I am working with a local park and some eagles scouts to put one up. Another thing I really like about this book is that it goes beyond just putting up a swift tower. It also gives guidance on monitoring the tower (to include electronic monitoring like putting a camera inside) and report forms. It also has great pictures so that at a park, for example, you can create an educational evironment as well. Another neat thing is to also host a "swift night out" in the fall, where people gather to watch the swifts (babies all fledged and practicing their flight maneuvers)as they fly around the tower, dive in and more. Its so amazing to see them flying at incredible speeds and then dive into the chimney or tower. What a sight. I've also ready that when the young are learning to fly, if one is having trouble, the adults will flying in circles below them, creating an updraft to help lift them higher. They are such amazing birds, deserving of our attention and preservation. This book really helps us not only provide a nesting site but also opportunities for our own education.....as the saying goes....we conserve what we love, we love what we understand, we understand what we are taught.

The protagonist is a very smart guy who learns some great life lessons. Some of his exploits are hilarious; others are downright dangerous. I loved it!

Enchanting illustrations of objects and activities from Virginia's colonial days educate very young children about both the alphabet and history.

This book would be a wonderful gift to prepare for a visit to Colonial Williamsburg. Imagine the fun of searching out the items depicted! The beautiful illustrations definitely make this book worth purchasing.

Highly recommended.

This hardcover book is absolutely darling! Each letter of the alphabet is represented by a different common object which would have been found during Colonial times such as A for Anvil, B for Bird Bottle, C for Cannon, D for drum. A brief description of the item and how it was used is also included in very simple terms which youngsters can easily understand. The illustrations are gorgeous featuring two small children, who are appropriately dressed in Colonial garb of course. This is a great book for preschoolers and would be especially relevant for a supplement to a homeschool unit study on Early America.
