This is a must-have book for any business owner. It not only explains the different facets of marketing and advertising, making it easy to see which tactics your company is ready for, it also offers step-by-step guidance that will enable you to actually instigate a new campaign yourself or make informed decisions when outsourcing to someone else. The layout of the book is fantastic. You can skip from chapter to chapter and learn about the topics that are of most interest to you without having to start at the beginning.

If you are in business or plan to get into business, this book will be your pocket sized resource center. It's VERY easy to understand and the concepts taught are proven to deliver results. My favorite thing about the book is the structure of the chapters. You can jump from chapter to chapter each time you need help on a particular marketing topic. I have referred back to the book numerous times since I first read it.

This book pretty much covers all the info you need to market your own business. For me, I know my trade inside and out, but I don't know the first thing about marketing, so this was a valuable resource to help me grow my own company. It explains how things really work in plain language so that anyone can understand it.

IMO it's a must buy for anyone who runs a business or is thinking about starting one.

This book is not my usual genre to spend time on, however, I felt immediately drawn into the adventure and mystery of the ocean. Trupp talks about science being remote from citizens and therefore the need exists for scientists to communicate more effectively with the public. This he demonstrates in his book, taking the reader on a wild ride populated by extaordinary characters and exotic settings. As a teacher, I found this book very helpful because it broadened my knowledge of adventurous jobs that await students of biology and science. I was able to use some of the vignettes in Trupp's work to transmit a bit of the romance involved in being in the scientific world, something I've not found easy to do in the past. Read and enjoy the rapture of the deep!

We often read about discoveries, but little about those who put in the hard work. Sea of Dreamers offers a view of the discoverers and what motivates them. A man with his own undersea castle, a "shark lady," a woman submarine pilot...these are fascinating people with fascinating ideas. I am also impressed by the politics of ocean science and the controversy surrounding the proposal to bury nuclear and chemical wastes in the sea. This is the first time this subject has been dealt with from the insider's point-of-view. It is amazing that late in our own century this subject has become politically incorrect, that we won't even allow free discussion and debate. Science is supposed to be apolitical; this book reveals the opposite. In all, the title provides visions on many levels and should be read by anyone with an interest in the oceans, what we know (which is apparently very little) and what remains to be found in this hidden world which emcompasses most of our planet.

You feel as if you're traveling with the author over time and space. Very personal. Fascinating women explorers in "Brave Hearts" section. Reads like a novel.

The juices, seeds, and pulp of Tim Hernandez's Skin Tax are oozing out as we speak. It is lost in the shadow world of manhood, of questions and yearning. His poems will grab you, uncomfortably, and then stand you up--looking into the mirror, uncovering the metal reflection of truths. It says a lot about a writer to hold their vulnerable selves before all eyes and brave the words. He seems to do this with ease; he has command of the musicality in the lines and the dramatic, often stark use of images: where it lies writhing in agony--/ like a dolphin crumbling/ in sunlight. The book may leave one with a tiny hole in their heart, just big enough for the sad salt of the world to come through.

In this debut collection Tim Z Hernandez refuses to be the card-board cutout of small valley poetiks. Tim denounces the chicano man-child box, the engine-muscle of horny cholos in drop-heavy chevys. Instead, he vows to wear that "feminine skin", to rock a little eye shadow, or a skirt to feel the breeze tickle the knees. Tim's poetry punctures hearts and sees the heart with a unique, "fish-eye" lens.

My son's pre-school has this book in his classroom. He LOVES this book soooo much I don't think any of the other kids ever get a chance to look at it. He insists the teachers read it to him on a daily basis. He is always coming home and telling me some new fact about a certain snake. This book is incredible and the photos really hold their interest while being read to. I am getting one to have at home too.

Oversized, with lifelike illustrations that are so much more appealing (and detailed) than photos. Paper is that attractive coated semi-matte that stays bright and clean. Highly recommended.

Children will love this easy to read and facinating dictionary of snakes.

I've never written a review before, but I feel so good about quitting smoking that I want to share my thoughts. The book was so interesting and informative that I just got carried along to a point where, on my quit day, I didn't even want that 'last cigarette'. I've come to see that it really is such a ridiculous, destructive habit. I'm very happy with myself and I know I'll never smoke again.

...neither did I. After smoking at least a half a pack a day for the last 7 years, I was a self-proclaimed addict with absolutely no confidence that I could break the cycle. I know that it sounds clique, but I HAD tried everything, but every time a stressful event hit me, my first response was to turn to cigarrettes. But not anymore. It has been 3 months since I finished the program, and I haven't had any desire to smoke. Sounds hard to believe, doesn't it? I know that is how I used to feel. The writer makes you feel like a friend and his encouragement and empathy help you to build the confidence to change your life. It is different from any book I have ever read on the subject, and I believe that anyone who considers quitting owes it to themself to at least give it a try. More aspects of my life have changed than I could have expected. Change your life now!!

AFTER TWO OR THREE PREVIOUS UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS I WAS SCEPTICAL WHEN I WAS HANDED A COPY OF THIS BOOK BY THE AUTHORS DAUGHTER WHILST TRAVELING IN AUSTRALIA. I READ THROUGH AND WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE CLARITY OF THE EXPLANATIONS OF THE DEVIOUS METHODS BY WHICH MY MIND AND THE TOBBACCO COMPANIES HELD ME TO THIS ADDICTION. IT HAS NOW BEEN THREE MONTHS AND I DON'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST HINT OF DESIRE TO SMOKE. THIS BOOK WAS SO E-Z TO UNDERSTAND AND IT MADE SMOKING SO E-Z TO STOP. THE THING IS, THIS BOOK NOT ONLY HELPED ME TO STOP SMOKING BUT HAS ALSO HAD A MAJOR EFFECT ON MY LIFE AS THE PRINCIPLES IT DESCRIBES ARE APPLICABLE TO ALL AREAS OF LIFE. I SINCERELY THANK THE AUTHOR FOR THIS EFFORT.

At first I got this book for my four year old daughter at the library. She liked it so much and asked me to read it over and over again that I decided to buy it for her. It's an exciting story with beautiful pictures for a four year old girl. I would highly recommend it.

You really can't go wrong with SS! All the books and movies are wholesome and entertaining. I love reading them to my daughter and watching the movies with her. Actually, my son loves them too but would never admit it to his friends (he's 9). Good thing he has a little sister ;)

My daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake and this is a wonderful addition to her library. While the story's tend to be a little lenghy and are by no mean for beginner readers they do offer good morals and values. The pictures are great and my daughter likes to make up her own story to the pictures. I would recommend any Strawberry Shortcake book.

Super Bowl Trivia by J.M. Colbert is great for stumping your friends, planning your own contests or as a host or hostess gift. Amazing amount of facts in categories from AFC-NFC to Zebras. Get copies for those Super Bowl parties and have it on hand for memory teasing the rest of the year.

Super Bowl Trivia is terrific for any gathering of football fans, when watching a pre-season or regular season game, and particularly the Super Bowl when you have a bunch of people over. It's "fan" tastic as a host or hostess gift for a football gathering. Some of the questions in Super Bowl Trivia are tough; most are fun, and the range of topics, from announcers to women (yes, women in Super Bowl history) is incredible. I'd love to see this as a CD-ROM game, or even a board game! Obviously, a lot of research went into Super Bowl Trivia. Wonderful book!

My daughter loves this whole series. They can be read by a 3rd grader without too much trouble and even while in the 2nd grade my daughter could figure out most of the books. They keep the same characters for the whole series and so kids can get attached to them. We will be in big trouble when we reach Z.

My seven year old grandson loves this series! These books are well written and have topics that are interesting to kids, as well as informative. The stories are exciting and children can learn from them. Kids can understand and relate to the dialogue.

Jud, Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose's friend come with a suprise, a dinosar, Jud and his buddys are raising money to make a museum, but someone stole all their money and it is up to them to solve the mystery.

As a pre-k teacher "It's Pumpkin Time" is a must have for my fall unit. The colorful, painted paper collages that illustrate this book are fantastic and the text is simple yet not too simple. I also use this book to teach the sequence of growing a seed. I have several copies of "It's Pumpkin Time" in my classroom, one for me and 3 for my students and they still fight over who gets to look at this book!

I bought this book for my two year son to introduce him to Halloween and the autumn season. From the moment we received this book, it was one of his favorites. The book goes step by step in planting, taking care of, and harvesting a pumpkin patch. The pictures are so colorful and bright. It is really an enjoyable book to read.

We just bought this for our 2 year-old, and she absolutely loves it. The pictures are bold and colorful, reminiscent of Eric Carle-type pictures. This book tells the story of how pumpkins are grown, and how they eventually become Jack-o-lanterns. It is a wonderful book, especially for the price.

I love this book. I laughed out loud and found myself reading this to my mate and we are in our 50's. I have a new item to give as a baby gift each time I need to buy a gift. The stories as well as the illustrations are just the greatest.
This will surely be the favorite book of many a young child for years to come. Even those children in their 50's.

I stumbled upon this book at a friend's house when her 4 year old was drawing pictures of turtles in tubs and kittens giving kisses, and I asked why in the world is she drawing such funny things!?! Her mother told me she was coming up with her own ABC pairing's, an idea she got from her favorite book "The A to Z Book". I laughed so hard, it was so creative, and rediculous...I loved it! I can see this book becoming a new favorite among children, one that they will remember for their children as adults.
