This book is a clearly written method for using imagination and imagery to overcome guilt and removing the "ball and chain" that drains ones energy. Dr. Clifton is amazing! I feel so much better and have more ambition and vigor. Thank you!

This book of Malcolm X's Speeches was begun while Malcolm was alive with the publisher and the editor that Malcolm selected, and speeches he wanted in the book. This begins the series of books by Malcolm X published by Pathfinder Press in collaboration with his family as more speeches, interviews, and talks by Malcolm X have been discovered. The aim here is to put Malcolm X's words first. Read them for yourself. Find out why Malcolmwas a reasoned, passionate, but uncompromising opponent of US imperialism's wars against oppressed peoples, in Africa, in Vietnam, in the Mid-East. Malcolm can really inspire you about the fights we need.

I bought a copy of Weiser new a year or two before it went out of print. For many years I have hoped someone would reprint this book. Weiser writes from a Roman Catholic perspective and includes a number of observances unique to the Roman Catholic Church. But, most of the book deals with holidays common to all Christians. Little things associated with a particular holiday, like the Easter parade, are explained in the context of their original Christian purpose. Further, the book explains differences in observance as practiced in different nations and cultures. It is a wealth of information I have used very often during the last thirty years.

The most useful portions of the book deal with holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween, etc. Surprisingly, much of this material from Weiser is showing up on the Internet. Do a search for "Weiser Handbook of Christian Feasts" and you will find it without hunting for a copy of the book.

I was required to purchase this book for my College Technical Writing Class - back in 1983. I still have the book! If you need a book to help you with all of the English language exceptions - this book is for you. Excellent examples and a great index make this easy to use and apply. This book will help anybody with communication skills.

I thoroughly recommend the purchase of this book to anyone engaged in the study of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as it almost functions as a "bible" of standard spectra for the elements. I also like the simple summary of the technique which actually includes a lot of information that would be hard to tease out of the overly technical texts on XPS that are around. For Universities and Research Institutes who have personnel experienced in XPS or who have the instrumentation, it is an essential purchase

Zeigler captures the excitement and the science behind such an extreme sport.

This is a gem - in a publishing industry dominated by staid human-spirit novels, books-made-into-movies, and gen-X slaker memoirs, this book cuts through it all. I can't belive I hadn't heard about this before. A great selection of new, edgy, and truly experimental approaches to text, body, story, and data. Some of the authors remind me of Burroughs' cut-ups, Oulipo, Guyotat, Acker, Artaud, and Surrealist automatism. The book is published by Alt-X, which is a great resource for new, edgy writing. But be warned, if you're expecting an anthology of 'new writing' or anything resembling traditional narrative, you're going to be very frustrated...proceed with caution!

This book is just another example of the fun a four year old can have in dinoworld! My son really relates to Harry and plays for hours on end as if he is there too.

In "Harry Vernon At Prep," Franc Smith weaves a mad little story that attacks the "sanctity" of academe in general and the teaching profession in particular. This is one of the prototypes for the type of novel that pretty much defined the satirical writing of the 1950's and 1960's. Novels of this type became formulaic by 1968, but when Smith wrote this baby, the ideas presented and the cockeyed worldview included were fresh. The really interesting thing about this novel is its iconoclastic attack on "beat" culture--skewering popular culture almost wasn't done at that point.

I used to devour books of this category by the double handful, but "Harry Vernon" was always a particular favorite of mine (check my image above to see how worn my copy is).

I'd love this book to be reprinted again, I want a new copy. What I'd really like is for this novel to get a bit more attention than it has.
