Now HERE is a music guide for the masses. It's filled with interesting narratives about composers and compositions. Anyone can enjoy it no matter how much or how little musical education one might have. Tovey is quoted but in a friendly way. It seems to cover all the bases from C.P.E. Bach to Deems Taylor. Great fun and loads of useful information.

This book is an amazing book with so much information that will blow you away. The book took many years to write....
when you read it you will understand why. There were a few slow parts in this book, but overall a five star. Reading
second world war books is somewhat like taking a large Jig Saw puzzle and putting it together piece by piece. After
reading over 30 W.W.II books, Body Guards of Lies put a big part of the puzzle together for me. It's unbias not like
some of the books I have read from USA authors. it's a must read ...you will not be disappointed.

These vides clips have got to be the fastest and most efficient way to learn the PSP X tools and user interface. Thanks for taping them at just the right speed. I have found some other training tapes to be painfully slow.

This story is set in Patna Hall, a delightfully old-fashioned hotel on the stunning Coromandel coast in southern India. A local election has filled the hotel with workers for the Root and Flower Party, and the other hotel guests get caught up in the election fever, especially Mary, on her honeymoon, but increasingly fascinated by Krishnan, the Root and Flower candidate. Auntie Sanni, the hotel proprietor is a delightful character, and the rest of the hotel staff are a a fascinating bunch. As election day approaches, anger and jealousy come to the boil as Mary's husband understandably gets more and more fed up about his wife's absorbtion in the election. A gripping story from beginning to end. Warning: do not read this book if you are hungry, there are mouth-watering descriptions of unbearably delicious things to eat throughout the book.

One of the best fiction novels.Thrilling and intriguing from the start to the end.The violence is best captured in words.A must read for thrill seekers.

As McClellan has found home to the land of the cowboy for over thirty years, she retains an ultimate and intimate grasp of the true eye behind the brim. Cowboys Cowgirls Cowchips delves deep into the mentality, personality, and individuality of the cowboy roaming the modern ranch, and for its unique and accurate telling of the societal misconception of the cowboy today, is very highly recommended reading, especially for anyone interested in contemporary Texas ranch life.

Lubbock 's subject is the craft-of- fiction and he looks at work of Flaubert, Henry James, and Tolstoy in order to teach the tricks of the trade. Much of what he speaks about concerns point- of- view and much about the virtue of 'showing' rather than 'telling'. In one of the work's defining passages he writes, ".. the art of fiction does not begin until the novelist thinks of the story as a matter to be shown, to be so exhibited that it will tell itself To hand over the reader the facts of the story merely as so much information- this is no more than to state the 'argument' of the book... The book is not a row of facts, it is a single image; the facts have no validity in themselves. It is not the simple art of narrative, but the comprehensive art of fiction that I am considering' and in fiction there can be no appeal to any authority outside the book itself."
For Lubbock the consummate master of the techniques of 'showing' is James. And a central part of the work is devoted to analysis of the technique of 'the master'.
