I like this book because it is funny and makes me learn about dogs and cool places and how to do it in a dog race.I did not know you had 13 dogs. How can you feed them. I wish I had won the dog race but that would not happen.

This book was a good book but I think it didn't really tell that much about the Iditarod. It was about a musher and the dogs. She's doing the Iditarod and she goes around mountains and peaks. I would recommend this book because it has good illustrations and is about a lead dog.

Pleasuremaid by Cricket Starr
When a woman falls unconscious at his feet in front of his house, Galleanus Ell Vanant knows that he has to take care of her. But it has been a long time since he has been so tempted by a woman. He has been falsely accused of a crime and locked up with a compulsion to never find release inside a woman. Dina has no memory of what happened to her, she only has her name to cling to, her name and Gall. As she finally remembers her true purpose, will Gall still want her when he finds out the truth?
Pleasuremaid is a great story and I enjoyed reading it. Dina is an exceptional woman, and watching her loyalty despite the pain it may cause her made me want to root for her even more. Overall this was a lovely read, and while I was slightly disappointed at some of Gall's actions when reading, he more than made up for it at the end!
Tempt Me Twice by Renee Luke
Latoya Ross needs to find a way to tempt her husband, Dante, back into her arms or she might have to consider a divorce. Four years ago, when they first met, they couldn't keep their hands off each other and now their times of lovemaking are very few and very far between. When she goes to his office at lunch to surprise him, things quickly heat up again. For Dante, keeping away from Toya after suspecting she wanted space for the last few months has been very hard for him, literally. But when he finds the divorce papers she has hidden, he is shattered. Can they both fix their marriage, before it is too late for them?
Dante and Toya are one incredibly hot couple! I loved their play together and I loved the intensity of their relationship. Their pain as they deal with the possible end of their marriage is palpable and so is their love for each other. Tempt Me Twice was my first taste of Renee Luke, but it won't be my last!
Werewolf in L.A. by Marianne LaCroix
It is 1941 and Estelle Lane is a B-movie actress in Hollywood. Her latest project is to act in a werewolf movie where she meets Jack Butler, the new stuntman for the studio. Immediately drawn to him, she can't understand her instant attraction. After watching Estelle for two years, Jack has finally been given a chance to meet her in person. But he is afraid of his passion for her. His wolf is clawing to get out and dominate her, but will Estelle accept that he isn't only a wolfman in the movies?
I simply loved the premise in Werewolf in L.A.!! As a long-time fan of the classic era Hollywood monster movies I found so much enjoyment in the fact that Jack, a werewolf in real life, would play a werewolf in a movie. Estelle is a perfect match for him, and I enjoyed every minute of their story.
Priestess of Desire by Mary Winter
Daphine Shalwood is chained up in the bedroom of Prince Sethe Cavelblood, heir to the Pyndaria throne. She needs to give him her maidenhead in order to complete her training as a priestess of Zudiat. Her last ritual before she will be cloistered in the temple, never to know the touch of a man again. She has always been fascinated with him, and even more so now that they have been intimate. And now, Sethe cannot stop thinking about her, needing to contact her before she will be lost to him forever. But will she be willing to give up her vows to be with him?
Mary Winter has penned a wonderful tale in Priestess of Desire. I admit I was hesitant at first at the idea of the priestesses losing their virginity to the royal rulers. But I was captivated right away with the connection forming between Daphine and Sethe. I thoroughly enjoyed Priestess of Desire.
Summer Lovin' by Shelley Munro
Sophie Walker finds herself infatuated with a man she hasn't seen in years, Isaac Shepherd; her daughter's ex-boyfriend. She hasn't felt this way about a man in years and she wants Isaac, but she is old enough to be his mother. Isaac doesn't care about the age difference, he just wants Sophie in his bed and in his life. As Sophie tries to dismiss what they have as a holiday romance, she realizes that she wants Isaac to be hers, completely. Will this ever be more than a brief fling on vacation?
Summer Lovin' is a very refreshing look at a wonderful and engaging couple. Sophie and Isaac realize that true love is more important than the number of years between them, and I loved reading about their experiences with each other. I loved Summer Lovin', Isaac is one incredibly hot man, and Sophie matches him perfectly!!
Interplanetary Survival Episode #495 by Tielle St. Clare
Katya has just met the most fascinating men. They are Riabhians, descended from humans, but possessing very feline traits. She is currently competing in the InterPlanetary Survival Race and although they are behind the leaders, if they can get passage through the Riabhians land, they might have a shot at winning. Only, Katya has just found out that the price for their passage is one night with her. Bach is the leader of his people, and although he is appalled at Katya's teammates selling her for passage, he accepts. After one night with her, he is determined that Katya will be his, now and for all time. What will happen to them both as Katya continues on with the race?
Interplanetary Survival Episode #495 is the perfect end to this gripping anthology. Katya is a very strong woman, and Bach is a very appealing and very dominant man who is willing to fight for his woman once he has her. I was incredibly intrigued with the glimpses of other cultures in Interplanetary Survival Episode #495 and can't wait to read more!!
Ellora's Cave has always managed to pull together incredible anthologies with stories that are different enough to appeal to every type of reader. Ranging from historical to futuristic, the tales with Dreams of the Oasis 3 all have a common thread of dominant sexy men and strong women who match them in every way.

As her memory begins to return, she learns that she is much more than an ordinary woman and Gall is in danger.
Cricket Starr writes an intriguing story that readers won't be able to put down. Dina and Gall are so perfect together that you wait anxiously to find out exactly who she is and how it will affect Gall.

She can't stand the leading man who has been paired up with her both on and off the screen by the studio. Jack, the new stuntman who's playing a werewolf is an unexpected treat. He makes her body hum even before they really know each other. Will she be as attracted to him when he reveals the true nature of his beast?
Marianne LaCroix puts an interesting spin on those old werewolf movies with this spine tingling tale. Estelle and Jack are a couple that will install hope that there's a special somebody out there for everyone.
PRIESTESS OF DESIRE by Mary Winter
Daphine's lifelong goal is to become a priestess of Zudiat. She only has to go through with the sacred ritual in which she will give Prince Sethe Cavelblood her virginity. Only one night is not enough. Daphine craves Prince Sethe's gentle loving. Sethe must find a suitable wife, but the only woman he wants is Daphine. Will he be able to convince her to give up being a priestess to become his wife and future Queen?
Mary Winter tells a hot tale full of a passion that transcends lifelong goals and duties. Both Daphine and Sethe have certain expectations placed on them that seem like they'd be impossible to overcome.
SUMMER LOVIN' By Shelley Munro
Sophie is on vacation in Australia when she meets up with her daughter's ex-boyfriend, Isaac Shepherd. At first she didn't recognize him and her body rejoiced at the thought of getting lucky, but the age difference and the fact that he dated her daughter means that he's off limits, doesn't it? Isaac has no qualms about dating an older woman and he'll take every opportunity to prove it.
You'll fall in love with this sweet tale from Shelley Munro. I always enjoy a story where age doesn't matter and this story depicts that fact beautifully. Is it just a vacation fling or is there something more and what is Sophie's daughter going to think?
INTERPLANETARY SURVIVAL EPISODE #495 by Tielle St. Clare
Katya's team has fallen behind in the interplanetary reality show race. If there's any hope of winning left, they'll need to go through the forest which belongs to cat-like people. To Katya's shock her team leader bartered a night with her in exchange for safe passage. Bach - the leader of the forest dwellers is furious that Jessup would `sell' Katya but he's also intrigued by the little spitfire who insists on honoring the agreement.
Tielle St. Clare captured my interest right from the beginning of this futuristic tale. Katya and Bach sizzle the pages with their emotional attachment that seems to form almost instantaneously.

My wife read me parts of this book while we were driving on a long trip. I found it very entertaining and well written, and am surprised that it is out of print already. One may not agree with her opinions and lifestyle, but she's had an interesting life doing it HER way, and is one helluva good writer.

This book is one of the most entertaining autobiographies I have ever read. I have heard many reviews saying how this book is full of lies, etc, but I didn't care. One of the first things Ms. Winters writes in the book is that this was her life how SHE remembers it, and that it may not be all correct, but people remember things the way they want. Take this as truth or fiction; either way it is a great look at a young girl's rise to fame in 1940s and 50s Hollywood. It gave me insight into the post-war Hollywood machine, and what it was like to be an up-and-comer surrounded by these big-name stars. Ms. Winters' style is casual, as if she was writing it to each reader personally. If any of this interests you, definatly get your hands on a copy.

A bigger than life talent, Ms. Winters was a mammoth personality. This biography successfully chronicles her many tastes and serves up a piping hot tribute to her gargantuan film legacy. Ms. Winters suffered no fools and hated juvenile attempts at humor. For that, I will always remember her fondly.

Shelley Winters was one of the most outstanding character actresses of her generation. She was also a human - being of tremendous warmth, ambition, and moxie. In this chronicle of her early years she tells the story of her professional and personal life with a great deal of zest and flavor. She will not get an A for personal modesty or keeping the strictures of traditional morality, but she does get an A as being a person of great insight and caring for others. The story of her first marriage and those early years I found moving and sad.
A person who seemed to entertain in whatever she did-she provides here too a very entertaining piece of literature.

Though it can be argued that Shelley Winters has assisted in creating her own legend (her ego is the real star of both highly entertaining autobiographies), there is a real flair to her writing and her memory for details (even allowing for the usual embellishment) is impressive. Her place in cinema is probably in question; two Oscars was a bit generous and her seeming insistence that she deserved to win Best Actress for "A Place in the Sun" over Vivien Leigh's Blanche in "Streetcar" is merely laughable today. But she did produce an impressive body of work (and relationships) on screen and stage and deserves credit for being larger than life, a trait that some actress of today could take a lesson from. Ms. Winters takes pride in her work and the craft of acting, which is to also be applauded, and she never paints herself in an angelic light when not appropriate. Overall, these are among the very finest autobiographies of any kind, celebrity or non-. Is it too much to hope for a third act to these treasured volumes?

I liked this even more then the firt memory book.
It makes a light on all of a period and point of view, I do like to read about words different of mine.
She is (was?) a hard worker, a survivor, and as she recognises in her book not always a nice person to be with. But I like her and was very interested in how she sees the world.

I absolutely loved this book. Shelley tells her wild and crazy story of an actor's life in the 1950's. This includes the intense and gratifying work of being an actress and the world famous people she worked with, socialized, lived with and loved. I can say that there is drama, tragedy, humor and love on almost every page. What an exciting life she lived and she's still a young beautiful woman at the end of this book. Buy this book today!!!

I was first introduced to Jacobs's work by my high-school English teacher, who had us read "The Monkey's Paw" along with assorted works by Edgar Allan Poe. Jacobs is first and foremost a humorist, but he handles human psychology and psychopathy well in this collection of his short stories. Also must-reads, aside from the title, are "The Well," "The Toll-House," "The Interruption," and if you like morbid humor with your mystery, "The Vigil."
greatness and uninventiveness

some of his stories are truly great. the monkey's paw and toll-house. some pretty good. his brother's keeper and jerry Bundler. but when he doesn't have much of a plot, the result is sad. uninventive. and awfully obvious. at his best his plot is excellent, his descriptions good, the suspence of the characters marked well.
