World Religions Made Easy is intentionally biased. Written from one Christian perspective, it promotes division and misunderstanding, denounces established Christian religions and others holding differing viewpoints, uses Biblical passages taken out of context to justify or chastize, and generally provides inaccurate and misleading information about other religions. It certainly should not be relied upon for accurate information. For an accurate and fair picture of beliefs and practices, researchers should refer to materials provided directly by each faith group. In an age where greater tolerance and understanding is needed, this book is an inappropriate resource for those seeking truth.
Not merely biased but intentionally misleading

Having already studied various religions somewhat I read this book hopeing to learn a few more facts. Instead I was horrified to find it saturated with statements like, "The stated goal of Islam is world domination," and "Hindusim isn't really a religion." The author cleary despises any system of belief other than a handful of protestant sects, the only religions to escape his scathing rhetoric. I'd like to say that the author is merely biased, but unfortunately he strays far from the realm of opinion and presents outright lies as facts. Worse, the nature of the information -- that it could be obtained withing fifteen minutes of research at a county library -- suggests that he isn't simply mistaken but intentionally misleading and (often) inflammatory.

I bought this book because I was preparing to teach a course on World Religions to a group people from different countries. I wanted to be able to give them away. I appreciate this little volume because it is distinctly Christian in its content. In a world that is growing increasingly intolerant of the Christian faith and religiously pluralistic it is refreshing to have a solid (small and colorful) readable text. If you are a Christian you will like this book.

The day after I recieved this book as a gift, it found its way straight to the trash. Written by a Protestant Christian author, the book is extremely bias. Supporting insult with scriptural verses, Water mischievously downplays all other religions besides his own. Catholicism and Christian sects are not even safe from his blows. Besides for this, the actual information is shaky in many instances. Definately not a book for anyone wanting fact, not opinion.

"World religions made easy" is not an introduction to the major religions as much as a description of their "heresies." From a Protestant perspective, Mark Water explains how each religion (Protestant denominations and Eastern Orthodoxy ecscape his condemnations, Catholicism does not) fails by rejecting Jesus and by relying on its own traditions. Bible quotes pepper the text -- sometimes in argument against specific doctrines, sometimes serving only to insult. (For instance, "Their zeal is not based on knowledge" illustrates the section on Mormonism.)
The author does provide basic information, such as core beliefs and number of adherents, on each relgion he discusses, but all of this is available elsewhere. There is simply too little real content and too much Protestant ferver to warrant purchase.

Pleasant read about author's anecdotal observations of birds in flight, written from the perspective of an avid birder. Author is neither a ornithologist nor aeronautical engineer and understands little about the science of flight. No substantial content for those with an interest in understanding "How Birds Fly." Title is therefore deceiving.

Trudgill wished to employ his skill as editor in this volume to collate a wide range of works and studies to provide readers with a central text from which to approach nitrates in the environment and issues surrounding management. In my opinion he has not been entirely successful and the final volume should not be regarded as the best of inquiry published on nitrates. He fails to appreciate the latest climate of scientific inquiry where one needs to highlight chaotic approaches to all envirnomental concepts rather than to dwell on the outdated tenets of scientific totality still residing in the arena in question. 5/10.

The author spent more time in analysis of composition of a landscape than he did in any actual rendering issue or study of water.
Water was not analysed: there was no study or explanations on reflection or refraction, nothing on rendering different effects of water depth, no reasoning behind color choices, no hints about glazing or transparency techniques, no observations on sky vs object reflection in ripples, no explanations on how various light sources manifest in different water surfaces, no study or analysis of the nature of swells, nothing on the power of water's behaviour.
I do not recommend this book.

Please. This supposed "true story" is nothing but an overly-ambitious fantasy of a fan fiction -- and it's not even original. I run a fan fiction webzine, and trust me when I say that every bit of this totally dreadful "book" (I use the term loosely) is not only incoherent, but a good bit of it seems an awful lot like it was lifted directly from many of the stories I've published on my website. Neither I nor any of those authors have ever said they were anything but fiction, though! It seems to me that Ms. Waters has a very active imagination and a huge problem separating fact from fantasy. Not worth the paper it's printed on unless you want some very expensive toilet roll...unfortunately, this drives home the potential problems with self-publishing without oversight by an editor!

I take business trips to Pensacola all the time. Just happened to go in the hardware store the author worked at. She told me all about the meetings with John and how she can't remember if they were true or not. It was kinda funny how none of her family, who work there have, never seen John at the old surf shop except for her. Then went on about being a manic depressive and Being on heavy medications to treat the condition. Basicly by how she talked and the uncertainity of the events that took place can only lead to one thing and that is in one of her mental states she had a dream that became reality.

I have read this book twice now and it really sounds like a made up story. Author says "based on a true story" but who's? Certain things don't make sense. The biggest thing is that how a grown adult would want to have anything to do with a child, especially have an affair. Almost sounds like she's trying to down play John at the same time trying not to discredit him. There are a few books out there about John that claim the same stuff this book does. Did she have a crush on John Lennon when she was young. Later on in life picked up a book, and the book became her new fantasy. Some time later the fantasy became her life. So lets go write a book using some one elses story. Surprised she hasn't been sued by the family yet. I'm done.

This book is an abosolute waste of $$. He describes his own book as a "how to" but does not describe how to do anything. He basically describes things that can be done, but does not provide any useful pictures/diagrams and provides no insight for 'anyone' on what the different components look like, located, etc. It gives a list of thing that may have to be removed or checked, but not a lot of detail on what to look for. This strictly deals with maintenance issues and not how to 'repair' anything.
