Clinical Procedures for Behavior Therapy is a comprehensive, organized approach to the practice of behavior therapy. It bridges the gap between research articles, academically oriented textbooks and the problems of clinical application of selected behavior therapy techniques. It emphasizes step-by-step procedures, problems that will be encountered and how to overcome them.

The book is heavily illustrated with clinical examples and contains extensive sections of variations of the basic treatment technique.

The only book of its type, Clinical Procedures for Behavior Therapy helps both novice and professional with a broad scope of ideas for flexibility in developing treatment programs to succesfully deal with a variety of problems. It will provide a useful teaching tool for students interested in the practice of behavior therapy.

Examples of the content include: Relaxation Training - Assesment in Behavior Therapy - Adverse Procedures - Assertion Training - Behavior Group Therapy - and Automation in Behavior Therapy.

Just trying to get myslef organized to focus on sales efforts, and I found this book very useful - replete with practical advice and hypothetical scenarios. Lean, to the point, actually (dare I say it) entertaining to read, as "professional" books go.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. The writing is plain and compelling and it is illustrated by maps, drawings, etc. from the Colonial era, as well as primary transcriptions of memoirs, letters, and other documents. It is history that reads like a novel without losing a balance of judgement and the inclusion of detail. Every library and every person interested in history should own this book.

I feel this is one of the best children's christmas stories. It is about a young girl, Tilly, whose plans for a perfect Christmas have been ruined, she thinks ... The author did an excellent job in writing this book, she lets the reader feel like they are right there with Tilly. "The Glass Angels" keeps the magic of Christmas alive. Buy this book today!

A wonderful mix of fantasy, rhyme, and imagination
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 1998-07-18
I have read many children's books in my time; however, this is by far the most imaginative I have come across in a very long time. A cute picture book about an average kid with a not-so-average lunchbox is a "James Bond story" for kids. The added benefit of it being in rhyming couplets makes it a favorite for both me and my children.

A hilarious, suspensful, and emotional album
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2006-12-21
"In Hot Pursuit" has a little bit of everything in it. It's funny, sad, and leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat in the last few episodes. I would highly recommend this album to any AIO fan!

"Do or Diet" This is the funniest episode in the album! (I even caught my Dad laughing.) Try to imagine Bernard, Whit, and Wooton all trying to lose 10 pounds -- in about three weeks. And if you think that would be interesting, try to imagine Connie being their personal trainer!
-5 stars

"Hindsight" During an unforgetable experience in The Room of Consequence, Liz has to decide to either ruin her reputation or possibly lead a timid boy into a life of crime.
-5 stars

"The Taming of the Two" Bart Rathbone is trying to advertise The Electric Palace! When an old rival of Edwin's suddenly appears in Odyssey and agrees to help out by hosting a Shakespearean festival, Bart thinks things will be perfect...until Edwin finds out! Meanwhile, Nick and Xavier are trying a little twist on the classic "Romeo and Juliet" for the festival.
-3.5 stars

"Teacher's Pest" What do you get when you mix the teacher's pet, the class clown, exploding pickles, and a custom build mouth that can (sort of) chew gum? A disaster!
-3 stars

"The Mailman Cometh" Marvin and Tamika envy Xavier. He gets to do all the fun stuff, like watch creepy movies at the theatre, while they have tickets to see "Me and My Honey". When they try to take advantage of the privelages that Xavier has, they realize that running away from trouble usually gets you right back into it!
-3.5 stars

"My Girl Haley" Another great twilight zone! When an innocent looking computer gradually becomes Joey's master, he must choose if his relationship with Haley or with his family and friends is more important.
-5 stars

"Seeing Red" Uh-oh! Liz and Mandy have a crush on the same guy?!? Is their relationship at stake? Meanwhile, Joanne and Connie are having their own boy troubles. The church in Sri Lanka that Joanne helped build has burned down! Joanne thinks she should try to sell an antique compass in Washington D.C., but Jack disagrees. Connie has a fight with Mitch over the phone and is not willing to apologize to him.
-4 stars

"Black Clouds" Joanne has decided to go to Washington D.C., and Connie is accompanying her so she can see Mitch. On their way there, they stop in a diner owned by an odd woman named Ethel. While there, they meet a strange girl named Lindy who thinks she is bad luck.
-4 stars

"Silver Lining" When a man named Vic saves Connie's life, she tries to help him get out of a crime he did not commit. However, Vic is not willing to listen at first and when things get too out of hand, it's too late. A very exciting and gripping adventure!
-5 stars

"Pink Is Not My Color" Connie and Joanne finally arrive to their destination, and stay with an FBI family in Virginia. Connie tries to straighten things out with Mitch, but instead of being distracted by her, he is distracted by his job as an FBI agent.
-5 stars

"Something Blue, Parts 1 and 2" Joanne goes to Washington D.C. to try to sell the compass, but is confused when one dealer says it is a worthless antique and the other says it is a prized possesion. Meanwhile, Mitch has to decide if he loves his girfriend or his career more. Exciting, emotional, and action-packed!
-5 stars

A STUNNING PICTORIAL CHRONOLOGY
Helpful Votes: 14 out of 14 total.
Review Date: 2001-12-23
As we are reminded in this stunning pictorial chronology there is little on our shores to rival the grand beauty and dramatic history of the Southwest. Photographer George H. H. Huey illustrates the volume with contemporary photos of landscapes from Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Utah.

Presenting the stories of this region and its peoples - Indian, Hispanic and Anglo - the author begins with the Clovis people, who can be traced back some 13,000 years, and then he moves on to the Pueblo and Hopi tribes who found homes on in the mesas of Arizona.

Spanish and French missionaries and explorers also play a role in the area's rich cultural background. Among the first missionaries to pioneeer the Southwest were Eusebio Kino and Junipero Serra who traveled to California to convert the native peoples and claim land for the Spanish king. Expeditions from France were largely focused on Texas.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the recounting of William Becknell's forging of the Santa Fe Trail.

Walker brings the area to the present with nuclear research, contemporary border issues, unparalleled growth, and diminishing resources.

Both fascinating and edifying, "Gold, God & Grandeur" will be of interest to all Southwesterners.

Splendid history of defining moment in history of space travel
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-12-18
For those of us alive at the time, there were strange, wonderful and frightening goings on in the 50's. Nuclear weapons here and in the Soviet Union had us all thinking about an imminent World War III. The launching of Sputnik filled folks with a sense of wonder and fright (if the Soviets could put up a satellite and already had the hydrogen bomb..., well it didn't take much imagination to project what might follow..., and the Civil Defense Drills, Duck and Cover and the neighbor's bomb shelter were all proof that such was imminent). Mr. Dickson provides a wonderful synopsis of events leading to and following this launch and of the scientific/technologic situation in the U.S. at the time. The many laser-like details provided are wonderful sequeways into deeper adventures into this fascinating period and the notes and bibliography reveal the authors extensive research. In addition, documents only recently declassified are alluded to and shed fascinating light on the decision making processes taking place at the time (which were not at all what the press or the common perception would have lead one to believe). This book, in the tradition of the finest history, illuminates and provokes a desire to learn more. I just wish I had a copy of Mr. Dickson's raw manuscript and notes..., it is clear that this book is a distillation of a much larger body of knowledge. Absolutely fascinating and engagingly written book.
