There is perhaps no medical specialty that has more misconceptions, "wives tales" and variation than Obstetrics. Williams Obstetrics is more exhaustively comprehensive than any other text for general Obstetrics. Williams has long prided itself on presenting "evidence-based medicine" - separating the wives tales from medical knowledge obtained from published studies from peer-reviewed journals. Perhaps there are those who prefer their Obstetrics with a little voodoo. For those who want to know the most up-to-date scientifically based Obstetrics, Williams is your book!

I actually use this book as part of my daily inspirational reading. Joyce touches base in this book in every area of a woman's life. Her readings open my understanding of how God desires women to trust in Him and how not to react to negative things in life that happen. This book is something special in my life.

Joyce Meyer exhorts and encourages

Joyce Meyer encourages us by saying "If you are struggling with the myriad challenges that you face in today's busy world and feel that you are not as far along in becoming the Godly woman you want to be, don't despair. God isn't through with you yet. He wants you to realize that you are a unique woman, and that He has a unique plan for your life." Praise God! Hallelujah!

I love Joyce Meyer! Dig into each one of the 88 short "conversations" in Woman To Woman. Take them in order or out of order. Read the one that most applies to where you are today in God or that appeals to your spirit. Each is self-contained. Use them as daily devotionals as you meditate and study the scriptures referenced in each chapter. This is classic Joyce Meyer - teaching, exhorting, encouraging!

Absolutely breathtaking color photos of exotic locales and foods emblazon every page and corner of this vibrant cookbook. Contents are grouped by location from Middle East/Africa to Asia, India, and Americas. Incredibly delicious healthful vegetarian recipes with authentic origins are presented from all cuisines along with fascinating stories of the Caldicotts' travels and adventures finding the recipes. These recipes are served in the World Food Cafe, which the Caldicotts operate in London. For those of us not lucky enough to visit their restaurant, here are some tasty entrees to whip up at home: Caribbean Vegetables in Mustard Coconut and Rum Sauce (from Costa Rica), Saag Paneer (from India), Sweet Apple Salad (from the Seychelles), Cardamom Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Pepper Relish (from Tanzania) and many more. There are low spice suggestions and special adaptations for the home chef. Exotic and homely, World Food Cafe marries the ordinary and the divine, the fabulous and the mundane. What a beautiful response to the global village experience!

In short: This is one of the most inspiring cookbooks I've come across in ages. Nicely designed but not overdone, interesting and often funny personal travelogue tidbits, luscious photographs, easy instructions and best of all, the dishes are divine. There are a couple of hard-to-find ingredients such as paneer (Indian cheese) and I wish the authors had suggested replacements for such items, but overall, I've had very good luck with these recipes. Dinner guests love 'em, too. Add one or two to make add pizzazz to an ordinary meal, or mix'n'match a whole bunch of them for an eclectic smorgasbord of world cuisine.

A great book

I loved this book. Illustrated with beautiful photos, this is a mixture of a travel and a recipe book, covering Asia, Africa and South America. Whilst some of the recipes have an (authentic) array of ingredients, there are few difficult techniques involved. You do sometimes have to persevere with surprising instructions though, in the belief that it will all be good in the end! And so far, it always has been.

I was lucky enough to find thid cookbook in the Oslo Public Library. For me is this cookbook really the best one I have ever had. I have tried maybe 10 dishes and ALL of them were very tasty! My husband and I have some favourites, like Saag Paneer and Kashmiri Gobi but we are constantly trying new ones. It is true, though, that if I lived in the Czech Republic (where I originally come from) it would be very hard to get all the ingredients. But here in Oslo where 25% of the population are immigrants, it is not very hard! And the paneer is actually possible to make at home-that is what I do! Just find the receipe on the net! I really recommend this cookbook to those who want to enjoy vegetarian meals even though they are not vegetarians! Because eating this, you won't miss meat!!

This is the second book of a wonderful series. The special thing about Yostusba's perspective is she may be a 5 years old, but she's also a touch weird for a 5 year old. This opens the door for a lot of humor between her innocence and weird nature. When it's not being funny, it's downright sweet.

I love YOTSUBA!

So funny! One of my best friends got me started on manga and the first one she let me read was Yotsuba. I haven't stopped laughing since. No matter which volume you get, you are guaranteed a laugh or two. You can't help but fall in love with her. This is definetly for the big-kids at heart.

Incredible!

I've written a review for volume 1 on how everyone should read this manga series. No need to tell you that again, but on with the review for volume 2.

Yotsuba is already good friends with their next door neighbor and are spending a great deal of time together (especially with Ena and her friend). There are many new stories in this volume that are simply too funny, such as Yotsuba & Revenge (Yotsuba reenacts a scene from a TV show in real life with a water gun as a gun), Yotsuba & Pools is a story where Yotsuba invites Asagi to go to the pool (since Jumbo is too shy to ask) and turns out to be Fuka and Ena going instead. There is just too many funny stories and moments within this book to mention, so go ahead and get it, what are you waiting for?

Best of the series!

This the best volume of Yotsuba&! yet! It has my two favorite sequences in it: "Yotsuba & Revenge" and "Yotsuba & The Frog". The first one features our green-haired girl running around her neighbors' house with a squirt gun, spraying everyone in sight because of the 'murder' of her father. The second has her, her neighbor Ena, and Ena's friend Miura simultaneously freaking out. You have to read it to believe it! This volume is much funnier than the first and I highly recommend it!

Good, but not quite as funny as the first book

The first volume of Yotsuba&! was all about Yotsuba finding all sorts of new things in the city. She was an inquisitive child without much of an attention span. It was cute, and reminded me of a lot of kids I know.

In this volume Yotsuba comes across as weirder and more annoying. After watching a gangster movie with her Dad and Jumbo she grabs a squirt gun and "kills" the neighbors. Later she tags along with Ena and her friend Miyura when they go out to sketch. Ena is happy to placate her, but Miyura tells her her drawings are bad, and Yotsuba flips out. The last story in the collection is all about the neighbors and Yotsuba doesn't even make an appearance until the last page.

There are still plenty of funny moments, like when Yotsuba draws on her father's face while he's sleeping, or when she starts pushing people into a swimming pool. My favorite is when she sees the lifeguard up in her raised seat. Yotsuba asks her to come down, and the lifguard does because she thinks the little girl needs help, and then Yotsuba climbs up to the lifeguard chair and sits in it.

If you haven't read the first volume, Yotsuba comes across as the annoying neighbor type of character you might see in sitcoms or movies. So I didn't think this book was as entertaining as the first.

I came across this book one day and it is so fun. I am a huge film buff and have lived in NYC for years but didn't know anything about these locations except for the obvious ones like the Empire State Building in Sleepless in Seattle. Little did I know that I live down the street from where the Friends characters live...and Friends is my favorite show! Now when people coem to visit I always point out locations that I got from the guide.

I also like that the guide is lightweight and easy to carry around, and the map is not a huge embarrassing pullout so I don't look like a tourist when I whip it out.

I think anyone who loves movies and entertainment (and NYC) should get this guide.

54321 has been a great bridge in my salesforce. A whole different language to cut through the Hope's, Lie's, and B.S.
After reading the book, i purchased one for each of my salesmen, and gave a few books out to other friends and business relationships. It is compelling without being preachy. The salesmen relate, and see themselves in the sterotypes. I found it to be an enjoyable, fast read.

I have read multiple books during my 20 year career in the sales business - and this is the best I have read. Bill uses his past triumphs and mistakes to illustrate the importance of developing sound personal behaviors to help achieve success in sales - and in life. Don't buy it unless you want to become a better salesperson - while increasing the peace and serenity between your ears on a daily basis. This book will give you a great return on investment for $20. I highly recommend it for all sales people - whatever their industry.

This is an outstanding book full of wisdom and a simple but effective message. Eliminate the HLB and things get done!

I was always confident in my understanding of sales and have educated myself on many different approaches. When I was told to read this book I responded by saying "that I am sure the messages will be no different than the hundreds of other books that I have read on the subject". To my great satisfaction I was wrong. My peers have always told me I was a strong salesman but with the tools gained by reading this book I feel like a "900 lb Gorilla". With the confidence gained from the knowledge this book provides it will teach you how to behave like "an adult". Which will enhance both your professional and your personal life. Don't be too busy to be smart. It takes 3 hours to read but gives you a life time of value.

ME HE SOSTENIDO Cinco meses con mi peso ideal...

After two years of roller-coaster depression, panic attacks and migraine headaches I decided I had enough and wanted a whole lot more out of life.

A year ago I read notes from a speaker that appeared at an event in New England, part of her talk was about this book and how it had changed her life and that she requires her reps (she and I are both reps for a well known company) to read it and put the components of the book into practice. If they were not willing to do that she felt that they were not coachable, thus they did not join her in business. Selective yes, but after reading and putting into practice components of the book I can now see why.

I never noticed that section of the notes at the time but when I decided to change my life for the better I picked up those notes again and read them and read the section on "Affirmations of Wealth".

Got the book and poured through it and in the process I have found honest and true revelations about myself that I never knew existed and in turn with the power of affirmations I have been able to begin quantum changes in my life as well as shifting from the focus on negatives and not being able to see clearly towards my goals to the focus on positives and what must be done to bring about lasting and enduring wealth into all areas of my life and the lives of those that I touch and love.

"Affirmations of Wealth" is a book that when combined with your own actions can create an amazing shift in your life - but only if you want change to happen in your life and you are not afraid to embrace the opportunities that await you.

It is also the book that I now require my own new representatives (that I help to start their own businesses)to read.

Three months has pass since the beautiful Aoi went away back to her home to get things set up so both Kaoru (her first love) and her could live together in harmony. The second when she arrived, things feel "normal" again for Kaoru and when they arrived back to his apartment they had the shock of his life. He was robbed! Well actually, no. Turned out Miyabi-san moved all of his things to their new home.

Miyabi-san would be patroning their (well Kaoru's especially) every move and she eye his every mistakes for the chance to him lectures. There's a couple of new characters in this volume who join in living with them, Tina (an American girl with a perverted sense of humor) and Taeko (Kaoru's geeky friend who cleans the house on hire by Miyabi-san - after she got herself fired from the other job)

Kaoru and Aoi gets to know each other more and the attraction between them are obvious - other than the obvious illustration of adult humor portray. but of course living with company means, people barging into the room when they were just getting into the moment.

This volume is full with beautiful artwork drawings equip with great adult humor dialog and adult scenes. Great plot and awesome read. I've really enjoyed this one.

SOOOOO cute

In this second volume of the True Blue Love manga Aoi and Kaoru find themselves being moved into a Western style house. The idea is that nobody will know about their relationship because it might cause a scandal. The logic is flawed - when they get married won't there also be a scandal? Well, their problem is that they're not alone - Miyabi-san is there to act as a chaperone. Soon Tina, an American-born Japanese-raised college student, has moved into also, believing that Aoi is just the landlady and Kaoru is just renting a room.
Taeko soon joins them (having been fired from her other job) and is soon both cleaning and breaking up the house. In other words the boarding house idea back-fires.
Will the couple EVER get together? When will the families allow them to marry? Can you have TOO many nude scenes in bath houses?
This volume seems to cover a lot of ground and a fan of the anime will notice it seems much shorter than the DVDs. Much of the plot elements are spread out over many of the anime's episodes, DVD 2,3& 4, in fact. This is because the anime came AFTER the manga, so the TV series added fillers that ADDED to the plot without slowing it down.
The manga is for 16 and up, being a tad more mature in both scenes and humor than the anime, and a fan of the anime would enjoy the slight difference in the details.
I plan to get the third volume, yes I DO!

A change in tone and some new characters

The story takes a dramatic shift in tone with "Ai Yori Aoshi - Book 2." The intimate, romantic love story of Aoi and Kaoru is thrown into disarray, as Kaoru moves into the Sakuraba mansion, under the watchful eye of Miyabi. Introduced into the mix are the crazed American, Tina Foster, and the naive classmate and photo-club member Taeko Minazuki coming on hand as an incompetent maid. Hijinks ensue.

Fortunately, even with the introduction of wacky characters, the focus of the story stays on Aoi and Kaoru, who now must continue their shy courtship in the face of Tina's wild drinking parties, Miyabi watching every move, and Taeko stumbling into every corner. In a way, the cast becomes much like the Disney cast, with Aoi and Kaoru being the good-hearted Mickey and Minnie, with Goofy (Taeko) and Donald (Tina) causing all sorts of trouble. The additional cast members are good foils for the wholesome two-some.

The editorial reviews seem to place a big emphasis on "fan service," but I find this not to be the case. "Ai Yori Aoshi" is one of the sweetest comics I have read, and the story stays true to the heart of its main characters, Aoi and Kaoru and never degenerates into a panty-fest.

great follow up

this is the first series i have started in my new found fandom of the anime/manga world, and i love this series. Its funny, sexy, and a good story overall. In this, the second installment of the series, we find that three months have passed since Aoi and Kaoru have last seen each other. Aoi has gotten permission to stay with kaoru, but when they reach his house all his stuff is gone. A note tells him to go to a certain adress that just happens to be a summer home of the Sakuraba family, and who is waiting for them. None other than Miyabi. Miyabi puts out flyers that the mansion is a new appartment complex and is looking for tenants and Kaoru is forced to sleep in the servants quarters while his new girlfreind, Aoi, stays with Miyabi in the mansion. Things start to heat up when a friend and classmate of Kaoru, Tina Foster (an american raised in Japan), moves in with them. Soon they are joined by another classmate, i forgot her name, who is beautiful, kind, and downright clutzy. She comes seeking a job as a Maid and barely passes the tests Miyabi gives her.
overall I thought that this manga was just great and i would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Romanc/Coemdy manga.
