I think most people today have become bitter and cold. Not bothering to take the time to even say 'good morning,' in most cases. You are lucky to get someone (today) to even nod their head with a good morning gesture. It is nice to discover that there are a few people still left in the world today who are polite enough to send someone like 'Superman,' a warm and heartfelt good luck wish!

Thanks to Dana Reeve, we get a gift every time we read this book! Buy it as a present to yourself! I loved this book! * Sniff * Many beautiful things can come out of something terrible. The out pouring of love for Christopher Reeve is amazing! His acting in "Somewhere in Time" was my favorite and I am a fan, but his courage through his ordeal is altogether awe inspiring. Thank-YOU, Dana! Buy this book today!

I first met Chris in Atlanta in 1994 and was struck by his grace and incredible presence. I saw him again at a private party following his star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 15, 1997. The Reeve family are a fine example of the true meaning of "family". Meeting them and being involved with fund-raising and Superman events has changed my life. I exchanged this wonderful, touching book with my little Superman buddy, Joey, on Thanksgiving day. This 8-year-old boy is the biggest Superman fan I know. We took a photo together in our Superman shirts with our books and many of Joey's Superman collectibles. I mailed the photo, along with Joey's special letter and gift for Chris, to the Reeves' home on New Year's Day. Joey, his mom and I love the "Kids" chapter of this book with all of the lovely drawings and messages from children all over the world. I've never loved a book more than this one. Thanks Dana! I believe that Chris will be best known as the Super Man who helped all disabled people fulfill their dreams. Jim Bowers - Flying78@bellsouth.net.

I think this is a charming and insightful collection, and I feel not the least bit silly spending money on it. Christopher Reeve is one of my heroes, and I wrote e-mail to him via a website not long after his accident. I'm gratified and warmed to see how many other people did something similar.
Chris, you're much loved - and Dana, thank you for sharing these letters with us. We haven't forgotten either of you, and we're still praying for that moment that all the fighting and struggling pays off.

This one is by far his favorite. I don't know if that is because it was his first one or not, but he seems to like this one best. Very Cute book!

I am constantly looking for good books for my three young boys. It isn't too difficult to find children's books that are entertaining, but if you're looking for anything beyond that to educate or even inspire your kids, most books fall flat. However, I was totally blown away by "Dewey Doo-it Helps Owlie Fly Again". This book has it all: entertaining characters, beautiful illustrations, an inspirational story, and even a *Bonus Music CD* with some great music. Oh, and to top it all off, a portion of the book's profits go to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation. I highly recommend that you get this book for your kids! My boys love it!

A friend's mother left a wealth of metaphysical books behind that did not interest him. Since my interest in these matters was well beknownst to him, I became the recipient of such wonderful volumes. Among many titles from classic religion to Edgar Cace, the collection included an early printing of The Secret Path by Paul Bruton.
Albeit Paul Brunton writes in a formal style, wherein one finds a certain quaintness, the depth and breadth are stirring - the imagery akin to Aldus Huxley. Moreover, I was drawn in by the Brunton's sincerity and commitment to reaching beyond his privileged path.
Much as the Buddha exemplified, sharing ones awareness of the inner nature of higher man is vital to the upliftment of all. Brunton shared what he realized and what was shared with him, where ever he found the opportunity.
To give and share wealth of spirit helps advance the will to share abundance with ones kind - and all in need who share this planet. It is the Christ-like way - the enlightened path that seems a secret, yet lies within our grasp. This book helps us realize the way.
May I also recommend The Mystic Christ by Ethan Walker III, Devipress - 2003?

Brunton knew much more than he chose to show in this book; he was a very serious student of the path...and a sage. He started out as a journalist and those writing skills allow him to write clearly, simply and yet to explain one way of reaching the deeper mind and deeper reality. This is an excellent description of one way of accessing ones deeper self. I am sure there are many ways to climb that particular mountain...and yet he must surely be correct in stressing relaxation and "no-mind" (though he doesnt use that term) as milestones on the way to universal consciousness.

In this book Dr. Paul Brunton invites us to define ourselves in our quest for the Overself. He asks the question 'Who am I?'. He then outlines three stages of meditation: self-analysis, breathing & mental quiet. He continues to describe the peace and serenity that we will achieve once we have completed these 3 steps and have awakened to our Overself.
An excellent book that I read almost everyday just before my meditation.

Peter M. Pringle: Master Decoy Maker by William C. Reeve (Professor, Department of German, Queen's University) and organizer of a showing of Pringle decoys for the Canadian Decoy and Outdoor Collectibles Association in October 2001) is impressive and biographical study of the late Peter Pringle, a truly gifted decoy maker for duck hunting. Chronicling Pringle's life through his death in 1953, and following the fate of Pringle's effective and artistic creations through extensively researched text and enhanced with both color as well as black-and-white photography, Peter M. Pringle: Master Decoy Maker is a highly enjoyable reading experience, and is especially recommended reading for dedicated duck hunters and appreciative connoisseurs of the specialized art of decoy making.

I so much enjoyed reading this book! These are personal memories of Winnicott and Bowlby, two of the most important British contributors to psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in the 20th century. More than half is written by Judith Issroff, a contemporary who worked closely together with them for many years. Further chapters are added by two more experts. It is written in a lively style, completely brings to life Winnicott and Bowlby, comparing them, contrasting them, doing full justice to both, and supplying many hitherto unknown details of their lives, usually in the form of anecdotes, some funny, some deep and full of wisdom. The book would be useful and enjoyable to read for psychotherapy students as well as practitioners, and is a must for any researchers or future biographers. It contains a vast bibliography of the mushrooming recent literature about Winnicott and Bowlby.

I found out about Akhmatova when I read Jane Kenyon's translations (One Hundred White Daffodils). This audio cassette is one of the best productions I've heard. The voices (Christopher Reeves is of course wonderful) are authentic and it is like seeing a play on stage. Her story is fascinating and for all her suffering, she continues to stay loyal to her love of her country and to love. Her poetry is so beautiful. You'll love this cassette & Anna.

I like this book book very much for its completeness (at least at the species level, but subspecies are discussed in the text), the combination of drawings and photographs, and the extensive information. In my opinion, drawings are much more useful for identification than photographs, and are therefore a must in a field guide, but it helps a lot when this is complemented with a few good photographs. Detailed distribution maps as well as information on behavior are very helpful in the identification process. Because of the extensive information, the book is an identification guide and a reference book at the same time. Despite the number of pages, the size is still sufficiciently practical for a field guide.

In this book, Christopher Reeve recounts the events his life both before and after his accident that left him paralyzed. He takes through the events that led up to him entering into the horse race, his preparations on the day of the race, and the accident itself. He describes his long recuperation in the hospital, where he had to struggle to learn to breathe and most importantly, to look at life differently. He also looks back on his life, tracing the main incidents in his acting career, from teenage amateur roles through starring on the big screen.
Reeve reveals much about his inner feelings during the period of adjustment following his injuries. He tells us how became aware that he would have to start relying on the help of others just to accomplish the bare necessities of life, such as breathing, and how it was the love of friends and family that pulled him through. He touches on varied topics, from near-death experiences to health insurance reform to the relationship between father and son. I gained a lot of respect for Reeve after reading this book-anyone can play a role in the movies, but it takes a real superhero to accomplish all that he did after such a devastating accident.

With this book, Christopher Reeve brought to light the necessity of medical advances without the need of a world war to prompt one. Have we not learned form history? Or, are we still the same old prehistoric creatures? I believe that we have truly come a long way and certainly quite capable of making decisions that could possibly help people in the future. Stop watching Sci Fi freak horror shows and start visiting hospitals where reality lays, in a bed without a functioning limb, degenerate organs, and countless other medical conditions that can be resolved through stem cell research. Christopher Reeve delivers humanity, as it should have always been recognized. He delivers a dream held by so many people and it is up to humanity to preserve humanity and not to let our differences, whether physical or mental, polarize and fracture us.

I absolutely loved this book! I have loved Christopher Reeve since I was a small child. This book made me feel like he was writing to me personally, sharing the intimate details of his life. It made me feel close to my life-long hero and is probably the best book I have ever read. The way he described his love for his wife helped me open up my heart and let myself fall in love again. I recommend this book to anyone who's admired Mr. Reeve or is in need of inspiration.
