for the theorist and the composer and the interested amateur, sonic design is an invaluable resource for thinking and practicing music of any culture. it illustrates numerous ways of thinking about music in non-academian terms-anyone with a penchant for philosophy and numbers is more than welcome, including those who are sceptical of music's dynamic geometrys- they are terms that are simple yet profound. this WILL illuminate anyone who seeks a new way of hearing music, even those difficult to enjoy modernist composers. sonic design lays out basic materials common to all music and then extrapolates the particulars of a given era or geographical location. this is a must read for musicians and those who want to understand the challenges involved with listening to and creating music.

I had the joy of taking a semester course of The South in Film and Literature with Mr. Francisco a few years ago. His course text, The South in Perspective is a fantastic compilation of southern classics. This is a must have if you love Southern literature, even though it's technically a textbook.

This is a MUST READ for all of you out there who have tried again and again on gaurunteed(AHEM?!)money-makers that only make you LOSE money!This guy really knows what he's talking about,it changed my life.

The item I purchased was on time. I was able to use the textbook in time for college.

I use this in my university Geography classes, Geomorphology and Meteorology-Climatology. Christopherson is robust, complete, easy to read and extract information, with good review questions at the end of each chapter. Instructor's ancillary materials are thorough, including exam questions, online source material and suggestions for teaching and discussions.

Climate defaults to Koppen (including use of the noncredible "highland" climate taxa) and ignores Thornthwaite-Mather-Feddema's Climatic Water Budget Analyses. Otherwise this text provides students with a solid foundation. The book is a bit pricy, but can be obtained used in good condition for $55.00.

I first encountered this book in the book store at Central State University in Oklahoma. It helped solve a dilemma I was facing; what to do with my life. Well, maybe not my life, but it did set the direction of my studies.

Bob Lowery's delivery had a way of speaking to the reader as if they were sitting in the room with him. His particular style, gained from a career as a professional manager rather than an academic, caught my attention. His method of presenting theory and practice sealed the deal for me.

Over the years, as I was working my way through college, I would reflect on how Mr. Lowery had set me on the path I was studying. After having moved to Mississippi, I was in need of a final management class to complete my degree. The only class that met my needs was a lunch-time class being taught by an adjunct professor, Bob C. Lowery.

While we didn't use this book in the class, his method of delivery and real-world examples reminded me of why I had originally taken this path. After taking the final, I shared my story with him and the let him know that his book had made a difference with me. As it turns out, that was the final class Mr. Lowery taught. It was a real honor for me to finish my degree with his class.

I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a work that is grounded in the realities of real-world management. It far outstrips the majority of current works that are based upon the conventional wisdom driving the Leadership Epidemic.

My five-year-old and I LOVE the Miss Mallard books. I wish they would all come back in print (some are still in print). Anyone who enjoyed reading mysteries as a child or young adult will appreciate these stories for younger kids (I would say ages 5-10). Humor abounds in these books and Quackenbush's drawings are marvelous. Taxi to Intrigue is one of our favorite Miss Mallard mysteries. This case takes place in London when Miss Mallard is mysteriously handed a boxed cake by a duck who is running from the police. Who was the duck? Why the cake? Read this book to find out!

A lot of great information! It is the best book on Transition to date.

This book is an enjoyable guide to the rules of grammar. Pinckert writes about how language and its rules is a game and should be approached as such.
